From Under The Cork Tree (Black Clouds & Underdogs Edition)

From Under the Cork Tree is the second studio album by American rock band Fall Out Boy. It was originally released on May 3, 2005, through Island Records as the band's major label debut. The music was composed by lead vocalist and guitarist Patrick Stump, with all lyrics penned by bassist Pete Wentz, continuing the band's songwriting approach they took for some songs on their prior 2003 effort Take This to Your Grave. Neal Avron handled production duties. Commenting on the record's lyrical themes, Wentz said the lyrics were about the anxiety and depression that goes along with looking at your own life. In support of their release, the group headlined tours worldwide and played at various music festivals. For their Black Clouds and Underdogs tour, the album was re-released as From Under the Cork Tree (Limited Black Clouds and Underdogs Edition), featuring new songs and remixes.

    Soul Punk

Soul Punk is the debut solo album from Patrick Stump, lead singer/composer/guitarist for Chicago-based multi-platinum Island Records group Fall Out Boy. The 11-tracks on Soul Punk hit a variety of themes, including Stump's love for his hometown of Chicago in This City, a scathing treatise of Madoff-era materialism on Greed and a reminiscent musing on naive sexuality on Allie.

In deference to one of his primal influences, Prince, Stump left nothing to chance on his debut, playing all the instruments himself, including drums, bass, electric and acoustic guitars, piano, analog synths, drum kit, marching drums, percussion, trumpet, valve trombone, alto and tenor saxophones, mandolin, guitelele and manipulating various found sounds and ambient noises.

As the title Soul Punk suggests, the album straddles Stump's roots in R&B and punk. I wanted to do my thing and I wanted to do it my way. I wanted to set the tone for the future. Soul Punk is kind of like a calling card.

If Only You Were Lonely (Awaiting Repress)

With the breakout success of Hawthorne Heights' 2004 debut, The Silence in Black and White, the little screamo band that could from Dayton, OH, could have easily taken the formulaic approach with its sophomore album. Instead, this rising new rock outfit does everything it can to broaden its scope on If Only You Were Lonely. One need look no further than the hushed, piano-steered closing number, Decembers, which echoes both the Beach Boys and Death Cab for Cutie. That somber highlight aside, Hawthorne Heights haven't exactly ditched their calling card, as exhibited by the infectious, self-deprecating heartbreak anthem We Are So Last Year and Pens and Needles, a bold, capable punk-pop nugget with serious devotional issues. The outfit's three-axe attack coupled with the distinctive pipes of J.T. Woodruff find Hawthorne Heights able to go where peers like Fall Out Boy just can't. Be it the downright winsome lilt of Saying Sorry or the riotous punk of This Is Who We Are -- painted with blood-curdling screams -- the group manages to walk the fine line between art and its aspirations of world domination with its credibility in check.

    Black Radio, Volume 2

On their 2012 breakout Black Radio, Robert Glasper Experiment laid out a new paradigm for creative music, reaching beyond entrenched genre boundaries to create a singular vision that drew from all reaches of contemporary black music and beyond. Black Radio drew unanimous praise from critics across the board and earned Glasper the highest chart positions of his career when the album debuted at #10 on Billboard's Top Current Albums chart, also claiming the #1 spot on both the Billboard Jazz chart and the iTunes R&B chart. The album kept earning accolades all the way to the 2013 GRAMMY Awards where Black Radio was awarded Best R&B Album.

In 2013, RGE ups the ante with the release of Black Radio 2 (Blue Note), another genre-defying effort that takes the Black Radio blueprint and builds to even greater heights. The core remains the Experiment, as astoundingly versatile a band as has ever existed, featuring Robert Glasper on keyboards, Derrick Hodge on bass, Mark Colenburg on drums, and Casey Benjamin on vocoder and saxophone. Providing the vocals throughout is another jaw-dropping roll call of vocalists including Common, Patrick Stump, Brandy, Jill Scott, Dwele, Marsha Ambrosius, Anthony Hamilton, Faith Evans, Norah Jones, Snoop Dogg, Lupe Fiasco, Luke James, Emeli SandÉ, Lalah Hathaway, and Malcolm-Jamal Warner.

On Black Radio 2, the emphasis is on songwriting with 11 of the 12 tracks new originals, from the soaring lead track "I Stand Alone" featuring rapper Common and vocalist Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy through Jill Scott's sensual ode to connection "Calls" to the reinvention fantasy "Somebody Else" featuring BRIT Award winner Emeli SandÉ. The lone cover is the album closer, a spine-tingling version of Stevie Wonder's "Jesus Children of America" by vocalist Lalah Hathaway that also features a poignant spoken word tribute to the 20 young victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting by poet Malcolm-Jamal Warner. The album was produced by Glasper along with executive producers Nicole Hegeman and Eli Wolf.

    Say Anything

Los Angeles rock band Say Anything's new self-titled, 12-song collection was produced by veteran producer/mixer/engineer Neal Avron, who has also worked with Weezer, The Wallflowers, Fall Out Boy, and Everclear, among others. The band, which is frontman Max Bemis, drummer Coby Linder, bassist Alex Kent, guitarists Jake Turner and Jeff Turner, and keyboardist Parker Case, recorded it in early 2009 at the Boat Studio in Los Angeles.

Say Anything is the first studio album from the band since its critically acclaimed 2007 In Defense of the Genre release, which Entertainment Weekly praised as an ambitious artistic statement and the Alternative Press called an opus that musicians more than twice Bemis age could only hope to create. Say Anything exploded onto the music scene with their 2004 Doghouse Records debut Is A Real Boy, which told the ultimate coming-of-age story in a swirling storm of sex, drugs, angst, and gut-wrenchingly honest rock & roll.

It Doesn't Have To Make Sense

Born in New York City and raised by her mother, a sculptor, and her father, a classical composer, Ingrid Michaelson has artistry in her DNA. At four she began taking piano lessons but it wasn't until after she graduated college with a degree in musical theatre and was touring the country in a theater troupe that she began to write the dreamy, pensive-but-poppy songs that would connect with millions. Her music taps into universal themes like self-doubt, betrayal, and of course love, but her spirit is fiercely indie; all of Ingrid's music is released on the label she founded, Cabin 24 Records which has sold one million albums and over 6 million singles to date.

In the past year, Ingrid has vaulted from overachieving indie-pop sweetheart to a bona-fide pop star. Her fifth studio album, Lights Out (Cabin 24/Mom+Pop), was her highest charting debut yet, bowing at No. 4 upon its release and building on the successful debuts of her two previous records, Human Again (No. 5), in 2012 and Everybody (No. 18), released in 2009. Lights Out's debut single "Girls Chase Boys" spent 20 weeks on Billboard's Top 100, became her first Top 40 hit and introduced her to a whole new audience.

Ingrid is currently preparing for the release of her next studio album, It Doesn't Have To Make Sense, gearing up for a fall US Tour, working on writing & producing her own sitcom, and writing songs for film.

    Family Of Love EP

Ever since he went from selling low budget beats out of a Worcester bedroom to pursuing his own twisted version of pop music, Dom has made one thing clear: his undying desire to deliver heaven-sent harmonies and hooks that are heavier than, and about as colorful as, his pink paisley guitar. That was certainly the case on last years Sun Bronzed Greek Gods EP, as proven by crowd pleasers like the synth-laced Living In America, the candied chords of Bochicha and Jesus, and the bleached balladry of Burn Bridges.

Nothings changed now that hes finally ready to release EP2, Family of Love. If anything, Doms ideas have only gotten more rando, as his road-weathered band (drummer Bobby, guitarist Cosmo, and bassist/guitarist Erik) used a proper studio session with producer Nicolas Vernhes (Animal Collective, Deerhunter, Björk) as an excuse to experiment with everything from a dial tone solo to a fun machine that helped them pretend we were Brian Wilson or some shit.

Dont worry, though. Dom didnt turn the sound booth into a sandbox or lose his mind along the way. If anything, his pop instincts are sharper than ever before, balancing a sleek, minimal approach with an ever-evolving blend of elements thatd fall apart in lesser hands. That includes such disparate influences as the beehive-shaking breaks of Daft Punk, the cloud-scraping melodies of Mariah Carey, and the trouble-starting rock n roll of the Replacements.

Beyond that, the EPs title is a toast to the family Dom never had; the people who inspire him to make a song as deceptively simple, and profoundly uplifting, as Happy Birthday. One track (Some Boys) even revolves around the playful vocals of a close friend named Emma. Or as Dom puts it, I thought her lyrics were really great, so I wanted to make a song out of it and share it with the world.

I want to pump out as many records as possible, he says, and actually make a difference in pop music. No matter how a.d.d. it all sounds, the more I write, the more I really wanna do this thing.

    I Am Very Far

The goal was to push my brain to places it didnt want to go. The idea was to not have any idea, to keep myself confused about what I was doing, frontman Will Sheff says about Okkervil Rivers newest album. The resulting record, I Am Very Far, is a startling break from anything this band has done before. By turns terrifying and joyous, violent and serene, grotesque and romantic, its a celebration of forces beyond our control.

On I AmVery Far, Sheff emerges not only as a songwriter of the highest caliber, but a producer and arranger of singular vision. Abandoning the tidy conceptual arcs of Okkervil Rivers previous albums, I Am Very Far is a monolithic, darkly ambiguous work, one that doesnt readily offer up its secrets.

Work on I Am Very Far started in early 2009, after a year spent on the music of others. Sheff contributed vocals to The New Pornographers album Together, wrote a song for Norah Jones The Fall, and helmed the Roky Erickson record True Love Cast Out All Evil, for which his album notes received a Grammy nomination. Immediately upon wrapping up work and leaving Ericksons company, Sheff drove to his home state of New Hampshire for lengthy isolated writing sessions. I wanted to go back home and re-start writing again, like Id never written a song previously, he says, and I wanted the music and lyrics to be both completely wedded together and a little bit beyond my control.

Sheff emerged from the writing process with 30 or so songs, which he narrowed down to 18. In contrast to Okkervil Rivers usual practice of holing up in one studio for months on end, he opted for a series of short, high-intensity sessions, each in a different location, each employing completely different methods than the one before it. For songs like Rider and Wake and Be Fine, Sheff gathered together a massive version of Okkervil River; two drummers, two pianists, two bassists, and seven guitarists, all playing live in one room, and led them on a week of live-in-the-studio marathon sessions, performing a single song obsessively over and over for as many as 12 hours to capture just the right take. Finishing the record from home, Sheff constantly edited and reworked the album, reinventing the song structures, re-recording vocals, re-writing until the very last minute, reshaping even the tiniest of details, ultimately creating an album that plays not only as a lush, seamless epic, but also as the most deeply personal effort of his career.

What can listeners expect? Richer and weirder than The Stage Names and deeper and moodier than even Black Sheep Boy, I Am Very Far is dense, fragmented, opaque. A reverie of uncertainty, it feels at once disorienting and oddly familiar, threatening and friendly. Okkervil River have thrown away all maps and compasses but they continue to chart their way, unblinking, toward destinations unknown.

Re-issue of the 1997 album that catapulted the band to indie stardom with its hooky immediacy, catchy lyrics, unique and powerful pop/rock composition, and overall sense of energy. After a decade together, the group parted ways. Bassist Rob Pope is now in Spoon, singer Matt Pryor formed the New Amsterdams. The Get Up Kids' contributions to the emo scene can be heard today in Fall Out Boy and Hellogoodbye. RIYL: Jimmy Eat World, Weezer, Saves The Day.

    Avalanche United

"This band has a nervous energy, an urgency that each of us feel every second of our lives, and this album captures that. We're brothers, we're family. The music we make together binds us together and gets us through all the hard times, together. I feel like all five of us will be able walk with less weight on our shoulders now that we've finished this album after years of writing and recording. And now it's time to perform these songs everywhere, alongside some of my best friends." - Vinnie Caruana

AVALANCHE UNITED is the album I Am the Avalanche and their fans have been waiting on for over six years. The title "AVALANCHE UNITED" also embodies the resilient spirit of this band, and their deep bonds with their families, friends and fans who have supported and sustained I Am The Avalanche through thick and thin.

Vinnie Caruana (vocals), Brandon Swanson (guitar), Michael Ireland (guitar), Brett "The Ratt" Romnes (drums) and Kellen Robson (bass) formed I Am the Avalanche in the fall of 2004 and quickly released their debut self-titled album in 2005. Over the course of the next two years IATA toured the world relentlessly in support of this album, which quickly became a cult favorite among fans and the band's peers. Prior to forming IATA, Caruana had fronted the beloved and influential band The Movielife. His popularity as one of the most respected singers in the punk rock community helped the word spread quickly about his new band's incredible live shows. Before long IATA had established their own intensely dedicated following around the globe.

In 2006, IATA began writing and demoing new music for their follow-up album, and while the band continued to play rare performances and tour briefly over the next several years, they also came to the realization that they wanted and needed to return to their DIY roots and start anew. Self-managed, self-booked and almost completely on their own at that stage, the members of IATA became laser-focused on writing the best album of their careers.

Thus, six years after the release of their debut album, IATA returned to the studio to record their second: AVALANCHE UNITED. Set for release on I Surrender Records, and produced by the band, and executive produced and engineered by their prolific drummer Brett "The Ratt" Romnes and mixed by Machine (Fall Out Boy, Every Time I Die, Four Year Strong), AVALANCHE UNITED is addictively melodic and blisteringly raw to its very core. Featuring 12 anthemic songs and absolutely zero filler, the album includes "Brooklyn Dodgers," the defiant "Holy Fuck", the epic and somber "Dead Friends" and "The Gravedigger's Argument," featuring Anthony Raneri from Bayside. Throughout, Caruana's distinctive voice drips with defiance, humor and proud vulnerability as he sings about hope, heartbreak, death, defying adversity and the bonds between family, lovers and friends.

And just seconds into first listening to AVALANCHE UNITED, it'll be immediately clear that I Am the Avalanche are back with one of punk's most powerful albums in years, unbroken and unbowed.

    The Electric Lady

As she began the audacious task of following up on her acclaimed debut LP The ArchAndroid - an album that topped critic's lists in 2010 all over the world - she took along some trusty, brave companions: the original music producers of The ArchAndroid, Nate Rocket Wonder and Chuck Lightning of Wondaland Productions. And together they crafted a new strain of jamming music they called ish. In the hip hop community, ish is a euphemism for the profane four-letter word for excrement, but as Monáe explains, they set out, like proverbial alchemists, to turn lesser substances into gold.

This entire project was produced by Wonder & Lightning. We set out to make a soundtrack for the Obama era, something that spoke to the beautiful, majestic and revolutionary times that we're living in. The musical language we're speaking now is called ish. In the African-American community, we've been turning left-overs (like chitlins) and social depredation (like poverty) into delicacies and fine art for years. So we just set out to turn the rubbish all around us into something beautiful. Ish is the bowtie on the funk.

From the sound of The Electric Lady, ish is an urgent and dangerous form of dance music, rebel music that forces one to fight, jam, and fall in love. Like on The ArchAndroid, the sonic textures of the album are varied, and the past and present come together to explode and create a mind-blowing future for pop and soul music. For example, wondrous strings reminiscent of Curtis Mayfield and Bernard Herrmann orchestrations abound, Hendrixian guitar solos soar, Outkast-like raps float over punk rock riffs; defiant socially-conscious lyrics extol the virtues of soul-searching and fighting for change, while the funk simply melts your speakers: 808s boom and Prince-like synthesizers squiggle in your earhole, making it veritably impossible to just sit still.

Elvis Presley's Historic #1 Chart Topping Masterpiece Blue Hawaii

First Time 180 Gram Vinyl And Gatefold Album Cover Presentation!

Mastered Impeccably By Joe Reagoso. Pressed at R.T.I

Elvis Aaron Presley was born during the Great Depression into a poor family in Mississippi. They moved to Memphis during the early fifties, and as a struggling young truck driver, he cut some demos at Sun Studios as a gift for his beloved mother Gladys. These initial songs, of which he had only paid a few dollars to record, would become the catalyst that would kick-start the beginnings of a soon to be worldwide superstar unlike the world has ever known.

The folks at RCA Victor knew that this young fellow named Elvis was destined for superstardom. They quickly bought out his contract and signed the legend to a long-term deal, and his first RCA single Heartbreak Hotel forever etched "The King of Rock and Roll" trademark to his name.

Over the next three decades, Elvis Presley would release dozens of hit albums and tons of smash singles, spend time in the Army, star in over 35 top charting films, as well as sell out concert tours around the states and Canada making him the most
successful solo artist of all time. In 1961, his career ignited even further thanks to his highly successful Blue Hawaii movie and companion multi-million selling soundtrack album.

Already gaining popularity in thanks to two chart single smashes Can't Help Falling in Love and Rock-A-Hula Baby, this masterwork soundtrack album also included a treasure trove of Elvis Presley tracks that captured a very great time in the musical
    history of this iconic legend.

As the movie would become a major box office smash, The King kept his audience wanting more as the LP would go on to become the biggest soundtrack album of his career and one of the biggest soundtracks of the sixties.

Even more hits abound with the sensational classic Hawaiian Wedding Song, the blues rocker Beach Boy Blues, and the powerful title track Blue Hawaii. All in all, thirteen huge Presley smash recordings, all on one sensational album. This amazing soundtrack has been out of print on vinyl for several decades that is until now!

In honor of the Man, the Music, the Legend, the King of Rock and Roll, Friday Music is very proud and honored to announce the first time limited edition 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl release of the RCA Records classic Blue Hawaii by Elvis Presley.

    Fin

Fin is the first solo album from THE INTERNET's frontwoman and producer Syd. Fin was written and produced by Syd, and also features production from Melo X (Lemonade), Hit Boy, Haze, and Rahki. Fin is the bold next step in Syd's musical evolution, a brilliant album packed full of dark R&B bravado, and anchored by Syd's smooth-as-silk voice. The album and its songs are already receiving love from Rolling Stone, Entertainment Weekly, The Fader, the Los Angeles Times, Stereogum, The Ringer, Pigeons and Planes, Okayplayer, and many more.

Fin is the first new music written and produced by Syd since the release of her band THE INTERNET's Grammy-nominated album, Ego Death, in 2015. The record was hailed as one of the year's favorites by the likes of Rolling Stone, The Fader, Complex, NPR, USA Today, Los Angeles Times, Pigeons & Planes, Nerdist, Noisey, and many more, with the New York Times Magazine saying, THE INTERNET has carved out an entirely new corner of R&B, thanks to [Syd]: an androgyne who sings seductive incantations about falling in and out of love...

    Get Back (On Sale)

It's doubtful that Stephen McBean set out to make The Great Rock 'N' Roll Primer when he started conjuring the
songs that would come to be Pink Mountaintops' Get Back.

The record's beginnings were reasonably straightforward: McBean had moved to Los Angeles, taken a long hiatus
from Black Mountain and an even longer one from Pink Mountaintops when he met producer Joe Cardamone, lead
singer of Icarus Line at Valley Recording Company in Burbank,CA.The two bonded quickly over Flying Nun bands,
Television Personalities, Roxy Music, Johnny Thunders, and Born Against. Joe was excited to meet someone he
actually liked. Stephen was excited to work with someone who said Sing it like you would've sung it when you were
    21. Simple enough,right?

But ask him to set the scene and you'll hear about a motorcycle shop owned by Michael Barragan, former member
of Los Angeles noise rock band Plexi. You'll hear about an endless supply of rock 'n' roll video documentation for
last minute inspiration or de-evolution in the living room.Ask who's on the record and you'll get a constellation of
greats:J Mascis(DinosaurJr &Witch),Rob Barbato (Darker My Love,The Fall & Cass McCombs), Steve Kille (Dead
Meadow), Daniel Allaire (Brian Jonestown Massacre, Cass McCombs & Darker My Love), Annie Hardy (Giant
Drag), Jon Wahl(Clawhammer), and Gregg Foreman (Cat Power & Delta 72).Randal Dunn (Sunn O))),Earth, Sun
City Girls, Boris) mixed Get Back at Avast! Studios (Bikini Kill, Mudhoney, Christ On A Crutch, Soundgarden) in
Seattle. Howie Weinburg (Nirvana, Beastie Boys, Danzig, Ramones, Slayer) mastered it in Laurel Canyon.

Ask about the record itself and McBean will tell you about Alleys, curbs, walls, and cigarette stained gig flyers. An
island on the Pacific coast. Fake British towns. Slayer posters. The beauty of youth. It's about listening to Driver's Seat
and 'Guns of Brixton' and hotboxing The Duster. And suddenly it becomes clear: when the aliens do touch down
and they don't know rock 'n'roll, you can play them Get Back start to finish, and that'll be all they need.

Get Back comes out swinging with Ambulance City, a head-trip of a song with a chugging, insistent, oddly timeless
guitar riff sitting front and center. The Second Summer of Love needs almost no explanation; it dives into 80s VHS
saturation and never comes up for air. Sell Your Soul is a deep sigh and a motorcycle ride, a roll in the grass
lamenting summertime blues with a little grit and a little harmony. And North Hollywood Microwaves is
downright obscene. But what better way to start Side B than this? You can listen at hushed volumes so your parents
don't hear, you can crank it in a dorm room, you can smirk to yourself from the safety of rock 'n'roll's old age.You
start to wonder- why don't all Side Bs start with a song like this one

The number of platitudes in music hit critical mass years ago, and among those tropes is that annoying, inescapable
mantra:rock 'n'roll is undefinable. And yeah, sure, that's true. It's different things to different people. It starts with
guitars, maybe, and ends with a stage-dive, or spit, or feedback. Rock 'n'roll is drugs, is rebellion, is youth, is sex, is
cosmic. It's wanting more than you have.Rock 'n'roll is butts and cigarette butts. And Pink Mountaintops might not
be the best-known band ever to make rock 'n' roll, but in Get Back they just might have written its scripture -- an
exploration and celebration of what, exactly, rock 'n'roll can be.
