    Sparkle And Fade

Remastered From High-Res Archives For the First Time!

One Of Two Releases From Intervention Records' Lost '90s Series

Mastered By Kevin Gray At Cohearent Audio

Everclear remains one of the few elite acts to emerge from the post-Nirvana grunge explosion, rockers that could not only match the crunch and aggression of Seattle's finest, but the hooks and emotional honesty. Everclear's Art Alexakis wrote songs that were a mature but hard rocking brand of power pop with gritty, achingly true lyrics about addiction, failed relationships and loneliness. Sparkle and Fade was Everclear's second release, and it broke HUGE, a platinum-selling smash with hit tunes like Santa Monica, Heroin Girl and Heartspark Dollar Sign.

A driving passion at IR is bringing music from the dark days of the CD era to glorious new light and life on premium vinyl. So much fantastic music from this era either never saw a vinyl release at all, or saw only a very limited and all too often low-quality release ripped from CDs without much care. During that era even if the original capture was to analog tape it was often ripped to digital and loaded into workstations for choosing final mixes, sequencing and final assembly. If vinyl was released during this era it is more than likely sourced from CD files. For releases that were never assembled in analog or were fully-digital recordings IR acquires and masters from high-resolution 20-24-bit files and if needed assembles final mixes, cross-fades, etc. during mastering. The increase in musicality and purity is as exponential as the increase in bit depth! Combining superior master sources with the truly full-range mastering chain at Cohearent and RTI's dead quiet vinyl pressing results in hearing the music that was the soundtrack to our lives like never before!

So Much for the Afterglow is the rare follow-up that bested the original in both critical acclaim and sales, going double platinum, yielding three top-five hits and landing the band a Billboard Modern Rock Artist of the Year award in 1998. Everclear remains one of the few elite acts to emerge from the post-Nirvana grunge explosion, rockers that could not only match the crunch and aggression of Seattle's finest, but the hooks and emotional honesty. Say Anything

Los Angeles rock band Say Anything's new self-titled, 12-song collection was produced by veteran producer/mixer/engineer Neal Avron, who has also worked with Weezer, The Wallflowers, Fall Out Boy, and Everclear, among others. The band, which is frontman Max Bemis, drummer Coby Linder, bassist Alex Kent, guitarists Jake Turner and Jeff Turner, and keyboardist Parker Case, recorded it in early 2009 at the Boat Studio in Los Angeles.

Say Anything is the first studio album from the band since its critically acclaimed 2007 In Defense of the Genre release, which Entertainment Weekly praised as an ambitious artistic statement and the Alternative Press called an opus that musicians more than twice Bemis age could only hope to create. Say Anything exploded onto the music scene with their 2004 Doghouse Records debut Is A Real Boy, which told the ultimate coming-of-age story in a swirling storm of sex, drugs, angst, and gut-wrenchingly honest rock & roll.

    Breakdown

Is Divorce Rock a genre? I guess that's how one would describe that band Everclear, hmmm...
Well, this is way better than Everclear. Breakdown is like dark, new wave Americana. Imagine if
Prince and Ryan Adams went on a road trip and confessed all their wrongdoings. It'd be cathartic
and grim, but it'd also be awesome and weird.

Most people know Derek Grant as the ripping drummer in Alkaline Trio, but he's been making music
for years and can sing and play any instrument like a virtuoso. It's actually really unfair and annoying
how good he is at making music. The release of this batch of songs is the final bit of closure on a
rough, turbulent part of Derek's life, and thankfully for us, the final product is much more upbeat and
likable than the trials that inspired Breakdown.

    Disappearing In Airports

Candlebox, the influential, multi-platinum rock band from the powerful 90's Seattle music movement, returns with their long-overdue sixth album Disappearing in Airports on April 22. The new album showcases the group's introspective and poetically candid songwriting with their signature musical immediacy.

Formed in Seattle in 1991, Candlebox went quadruple platinum with their 1993 self-titled debut and released two more acclaimed and top-selling albums (1995's Lucy and 1998's Happy Pills) before going on a hiatus in 2000. Candlebox regrouped with a 2006 tour, then put out Into the Sun in 2008, followed by 2012's Love Stories & Other Musings. Candlebox remains one of the most highly requested and played groups on radio, including the band's mega hits "Far Behind" and "You."

For Disappearing in Airports, the band worked with producers Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland (August Burns Red, Everclear, Rivers of Nihl), cutting the record at Think Loud Studios in York, Pennsylvania. With Martin, Dave Krusen on drums, Adam Kury on bass and the addition of guitarists Mike Leslie and Brian Quinn, the recommitment to creating music that is 'pissed and urgent' as well as bringing a new energy to the live show is at this records' core.
