    Diary: Remastered

Originally formed in Seattle in 1992, Sunny Day Real Estate featured Nate Mendel (bass), William Goldsmith (drums), Dan Hoerner (guitar, vocals) and Jeremy Enigk (vocals, guitar). Following the completion of a U.S. Tour to support Diary, the band's debut album, the group headed back into the studio with Wood to record the follow-up. But during the recording sessions, internal tensions splintered Sunny Day Real Estate, resulting in a sudden break-up and the finished album being turned in to Sub Pop without a title or artwork. LP2 was released in November of 1995, by which time both Goldsmith and Mendel had joined Foo Fighters and Enigk had begun a solo career.

Sub Pop Records will re-issue both Diary and the band's second full-length album, commonly known as LP2 (or The Pink Album for its entirely pink cover). Both re-mastered albums will include rare bonus tracks as well as newly written liner notes.

Following a more than 10 year hiatus, all four original members of pioneering Seattle rock band Sunny Day Real Estate will regroup for a 20-date US tour starting September, 2009.

    Real Estate

REAL ESTATE waft in on vibes of hazy summers past. The New Jersey quartet cut the sleeves short and the pop smooth to shade you from the midday heat. Every song works its way to that part of your consciousness that reveled in the fleeting waves of freedom that eked in once classes broke and the sun lingered a little longer over suburban roofs. And with three quarters of the band holding down Garden State roots its no surprise that a bit of Jersey indie-pop heritage sneaks its way into their sound, lifting the most sun streaked moments from The Feelies and Yo La Tengo and filtering them through the kaleidoscope of memories aimless drives through parched neighborhood streets. MARTIN COURTNEYs songwriting has a way of wrapping up the immediacy of youth with the ennui of age for the perfect shade of bittersweet bliss, mind you though, much heavier on the sweet than the bitter. Add to this MATTHEW MONDANILEs (DUCKTAILS, PREDATOR VISION) shimmering guitar strains full of equal parts sea foam and beer foam, pepper in the boardwalk clatter of ETIENNE PIERRE DUGUAYs drums, ALEX BLEEKERs staccato low end and the perfect afternoon is just a lawn chair and boom box away.Andy French (Raven Sings the Blues) Received a Best New Music, 8.5 rating from Pitchfork.

Low Estate is the 2nd album from 16 Horsepower; the Denver-based Alt-Country rock group revolving around the ingenious songwriting and vocals from David Eugene Edwards, also known for Woven Hand. Armed with banjos, accordions, slide guitars, violins and a heartfelt croon, the band are considered to be at the peak of their powers on Low Estate, with soundscapes are rich in darkness and mystery, accentuating the uniqueness of the group that lived on in Woven Hand.

    Statement Series The Statement Cartridge

    0.5 mV Output

GRADO RE-MAKES THEIR STATEMENT1! After years of careful thought and painstaking design Grado is very pleased to offer their upgraded flagship phono cartridge. We are so proud of this cartridge and believe that it has so much to say about Grado technology, that it was named the GRADO STATEMENT1. The STATEMENT1 utilizes reconfigured gold coil wires, a lower mass faster generating system, a boron cantilever and a diamond cut specially for Grado. All this is hand-assembled within a machined, new processed, Australian Jarrah wood housing. The output for the STATEMENT1 measures at 0.5 mV. The lowest output ever offered by Grado. The low frequency information and its portrayal of bass dynamics are solid, powerful and authoritative. The midrange is rich, complex and highly believable. Its top-end seems to extend forever with speed and remarkable delicacy. Imaging is detailed and precise with a sound stage that wraps its arms around you and draws you into the music. Michael Fremer commented in his Analog Corner, "It is among the finest cartridges I've ever heard at any price", Stereophile 3/99, pg. 41. While Jonathan Valin stated, "I'm going to keep the Statement in my reference system" The Absolute Sound, Issue 118. Anyone who was impressed with our previous top-of-the-line effort, the Grado REFERENCE, will have their eyes opened wide after listening to the GRADO STATEMENT1!

"I'm having way too much fun listening to my best LPs to worry about the technical stuff. You have to listen to music sometime, and the Grado Statement 1 has transported me to phono Shangri La. If you can scrape together the dough or even if cost is no object, buy the Grado Statement 1 and don't look back. It will redefine your analog experience and is a world beater design. Moving coils move over, there's a new kid in town. The Grado Statement 1 is state of the art and most highly recommended. Way to go Grado!"

    - Positive Feedback / Robert H. Levi

"The Statement consistently did a fine job of reproducing detail, and it was able to do so during both loud and complex passages."

    - Ultimate Audio / Jack English Vol.4, No.1

Remastered By Kevin Gray At Cohearent Audio From The Original Analog Tapes

200-Gram 45 RPM Double LP Plated And Pressed At Quality Record Pressings!

Tip-On Gatefold Jacket From Stoughton Printing

Otis Redding's third album presents his talent unfettered, his direction clear and his confidence emboldened, with fully half the songs representing a reach that extended his musical grasp. More than a quarter of this album is given over to Redding's version of songs by Sam Cooke, his idol, who had died the previous December.

Otis Redding Sings Soul is considered by many critics to be Redding's first great album. Recorded in April and July of 1965, it was released September 15th of that same year. The styles of Cooke and Redding couldn't have been more different; Cooke smooth and sure, Redding raw and pleading. But Redding's versions of Shake and A Change Is Gonna Come show how Cooke's sound and message helped shape Redding's Southern soul sound. Redding's singing reaches a new level of expressiveness with this as well as with covers of B.B. King's Rock Me Baby and the Motown hit My Girl.

This great album receives the full Analogue Productions reissue treatment here, starting with Kevin Gray's remaster from the original analogue tapes. Then we back that up with 200-gram plating and pressing on super-silent vinyl by our own Quality Record Pressings. Finally it's all housed in a tip-on gatefold jacket from Stoughton Printing. Deluxe all the way; you'll be estatic with the results!

Have a question about this product? Please email our audio advisor or call 1-877-929-8729 with any questions or concerns regarding your equipment purchase.

The hand-held DeStat II (now with a rechargeable internal battery) is incredibly easy to use as it removes dust and static charge from audio/ video media in just one 10 second treatment. High performance enthusiasts know that static charges on analog and optical media -- LPs, CDs and DVDs - can lead to distracting noise and compromised sound. Simply hold the Destat over your media of choice and press one button! The powerful fan removes dust while the Destat's Balanced Ion Flow Generator - releasing just the right balance of positive and negative ions - eliminates static. Almost every system component benefits from eliminating its static charge. Use the Destat to remove static from the audio/video equipment itself - best to turn them off during treatment - plus power cords, line-level interconnects, speaker cables, and metal record clamps! Some household items may even benefit from static charge removal. And there's a safety circuit preventing shock from the Balanced Ion Flow Generator. Now manufactured by Furutech in their factory.

    Atlas

Let's get down to brass tacks: Ridgewood, NJ's Real Estate took a mighty leap
forward on their last go-around... more record sales... bigger shows... and, more
importantly, a timeless classic of an album, Days. It's been two years since the
release of Days, and it's an album that still sounds as fresh today as it did on
release date. Their new album, Atlas, builds upon the lush guitar warmth of Days
while adding more powerful harmonies and keyboard flourishes bringing even more
    depth to their heart-warming sound.

Atlas was recorded over the summer at Wilco's Chicago recording studio, The Loft,
with producer/mixer Tom Schick (Wilco, Rufus Wainwright, Alex Chilton), and while
this pairing that looks so good on paper, sounds even better on record!
Real Estate kick off the campaign with the dreamy pop single "Talking Backwards,"
which was released as a limited edition 7"at the end of February.

    Days

New Jerseys Real Estate present their new album, Days, to be released on Domino. Recorded with Kevin McMahon (The Walkmen, Titus Andronicus, Swans) in Upstate New York through the late Winter/Spring of 2011, Days is a gorgeous suite of timelessly melodic, achingly melancholy pop songs and a delightfully confident follow-up to 2009s exceptionally well-received eponymous debut.

Comprised of nine new recordings and a revisit of last years enduringly wonderful Out Of Tune standalone single, that appeared as a now out-of-print 7 vinyl on True Panther, Days is the next step in the career of a uniquely close songwriting collective that feel more important with their every release. Gatefold LP includes heavyweight vinyl and MP3 digital download card.

    In Mind

On In Mind the band fine-tunes the winsome songwriting and profound earnestness that made previous albums-Real Estate, Days, and Atlas-so beloved and pushes their songs in compelling new directions. Written primarily by guitarist/vocalist Martin Courtney In Mind offers a mild shifting of the gears, positing a band engaged in the push/pull of burgeoning adulthood. Reflecting a change in lineup, changes in geography, and a general desire to move forward without looking back, the record recasts the band in a new light - one that replaces the ennui of teen suburbia with an adult version.

How It Feels To Be Something On

Sunny Day Real Estate's third album, How It Feels to Be Something On,
is now back in print on vinyl, after more than a decade of fetching high
prices on the collectors market. To date, How It Feels has sold over
    11,000 copies.

In 1997, Sub Pop approached Sunny Day's members for help in compiling
a rarities album. Because there were so few usable tracks, band
founders Jeremy Enigk and Dan Hoerner agreed to get together and write
some new material to augment the archival songs, but they wound up
crafting an entire new album in a matter of days.

Without Mendel, who remains with Foo Fighters to this day, Sunny Day
reunited to record How It Feels to Be Something On, which Sub Pop
released on Sept. 22, 1998. After 2000's The Rising Tide, the band split,
with Mendel continuing his work with the Foo Fighters, though Enigk,
Goldsmith, and Mendel did reconvene to record an album under the name
The Fire Theft in 2003. Sunny Day Real Estate reunited for a series of
    shows in 2010.

Calling Out of Context is the critically acclaimed release that started the Arthur Russell renaissance. In 2002 Audika Records entered into an exclusive licensing agreement with the Russell estate to compile and issue previously unreleased and out of print material from Arthur's vast archive. This first album in the Audika catalog features 12 previously unreleased tracks of Buddhist Bubblegum Alt Disco Pop recorded during Arthur's prime years 1985-90 that clearly illuminates his brilliance as one of the most important musicians of the last 25 years.

    The Flower Lane (Awaiting Repress)

Ducktails, the increasingly less "solo" endeavor of Matt Mondanile (Real Estate, guitarist), is set to release The Flower Lane, which is the project's fourth album and his first for Domino Recording Co. Recorded and mixed over the summer of 2012 with Al Carlson (Peaking Lights, Oneohtrix Point Never) as Mondanile's hectic schedule as a concurrent member of Real Estate began to wind down after a year in support of their Domino debut album, Days. Taking a tangential turn away from solo home-recording of past releases toward the more collaborative environment of the studio, Mondanile roped in close friends and colleagues to make something more adventurous yet easy-going. Support came in many forms, from the backing of the New Jersey band Big Troubles (Slumberland) to contributions from Daniel Lopatin (Oneohtrix Point Never), Joel Ford (Ford + Lopatin), Madeline Follin (Cults) and Sam Mehran (Outer Limitz), to name just a few. The ten songs on The Flower Lane move across a range of expressive pop songs that are bright and expansive, but venture even further with forays into saxophone leads, synth lines and piano accompaniment that would have been at home on the early records of sophisticated guitar pop icons such as Aztec Camera and Prefab Sprout.

    Heal My Soul

Heal My Soul Is The First New Jeff Healey Material In Fifteen Years

2016 marks the release of 'Heal My Soul', the first new, original Jeff Healey material in over 15 years. This incredible lost album features some of the most powerful and passionate performances Healey ever committed to record.

Under the direct supervision of the Jeff Healey Estate these tracks were painstakingly restored and brought to life bringing into focus Jeff's unique and special gifts as an
artist. Healey is remembered as one of the most outstanding guitarists and performers of the past 30 years. After losing his sight during childhood, he developed the distinctive lap-style guitar technique that brought him international fame.

There are 12 astounding tracks here including the searing "Daze Of The Night" and the sweet, harmony filled "Baby Blue". This is truly Jeff Healey as you've never heard him before: "Remarkable, musical treasures that Jeff left behind will be made available for us to experience for years to come. The unearthing of this lost album is a project that will highlight Jeff's incredible talent. With this gift of never before released amazing music, we invite Jeff's fans to join us in celebration of his 50th birthday," says Cristie Healey, executor/co-administrator of the Jeff Healey Estate.

    St. Catherine

Unfurling out of Los Angeles this July comes St. Catherine, Matt Mondanile's fifth outing as Ducktails. The new album emerges from the roots of Mondanile's previous work, from the free-form, ambient bedroom experiments of seminal underground release Landscapes (2009), to 2013's eighties pop re-imagination The Flower Lane, but ultimately moves Ducktails on to a more refined, personal and sincere place.

St. Catherine is a finely-honed collection of baroque pop songs that take the blissful, cascading melodic fretwork that Mondanile has made his signature with both Ducktails and his other band, Real Estate, and applies it to songs of considerable new emotional heft and dynamic range.

St. Catherine is a finely-honed collection of baroque pop songs that take the blissful, cascading melodic fretwork that Mondanile has made his signature with both Ducktails and his other band, Real Estate, and applies it to songs of considerable new emotional heft and dynamic range.

Mondanile partially wrote and recorded St. Catherine over the course of 2014 and then finished off recording at the start of 2015. The longest time he has ever spent working on a record, it took place in bedrooms and studios predominantly in east LA and Glendale, but venturing as far as Berlin and New York as Mondanile worked on tracks around heavy periods of Real Estate touring.

When Mondanile finally settled back in LA at the start of 2015, it was Rob Schnapf, co-producer of Elliott Smith's classic albums XO and Either/Or, that he turned to in order to help put the finishing touches to St. Catherine. Together, the pair added a new crispness and punch to the record's more upbeat, psychedelic pop tracks (such as James Ferraro-featuring, lolloping lead single Headbanging In The Mirror, and the soaring Into The Sky), that recalls the artful muscularity of Smith's later work, whilst title track, the heavenly St. Catherine boasts one of Mondanile's greatest ever lead guitar lines and benefits greatly from Schnapf's warm, rich feel.

    The King Is Dead

The King Is Dead is a mostly-acoustic set of 10 concise, Americana-based songs, that marks a deliberate turn towards simplicity after the Decemberists wildly ambitious and acclaimed 2009 song-cycle The Hazards Of Love. Produced once again by Tucker Martine, The King Is Dead features special guest appearances by Americana luminary Gillian Welch and legendary R.E.M. guitarist Peter Buck.

The King Is Dead showcases the ways in which The Decemberists; Colin Meloy, Chris Funk, Jenny Conlee, Nate Query, and John Moen, sound just as glorious in simple, stripped-down compositions as they do on the elaborate structures that have defined their work for years. The album was recorded in a converted barn at Pendarvis Farm, an 80 acre estate of lush meadows, forest, and Mt. Hood views outside of Portland, and it was the concept of the barn, as recording space and as attitude, that informed the making of the album.

    Live In Berlin: 1975

To commemorate the 40th anniversary of the founding of Weather Report, the Zawinul estate is proud to release this live document of the supergroups appearance at the 1975 Jazztage Berlin, one of the oldest and most prestigious jazz festivals in Europe. This is the first time that this historic performance has been made available commercially

From the opening strains of Wayne Shorters propulsive Freezing Fire to Joe Zawinuls exotic Badia (a template for the world music movement that would come over a decade later), Live in Berlin, 1975 crackles with an audacious spirit of discovery and daring, underscored by an uncanny sense of group-thinking that allowed the band to be truly in the moment from tune to tune, from bar to bar.

    Let's Get Metaphysical

Described by the NME as sounding like 'Weezer being beaten up by The Dillinger Escape Plan', Carnivores draw influence from Fugazi, At The Drive-In, Idlewild, Helmet, Elvis Costello and Nirvana. Carnivores are a three-piece rock band based in Paisley, Scotland. Formed in the late 2000's they got to work the old fashioned way, touring the toilet venues of Scotland in a battered estate car building a fan-base show by show. They quickly gained a reputation as one of the craziest live bands in Scotland. Carnivores are: Kenny Leckie (vocals / guitar), Grant M (bass/vocals) and Martin Johnston (drums/backing vocals). Their debut album 'Let's Get Metaphysical'. Recorded live in just six days with producer Bruce Rintoul (Twin Atlantic/Fatherson), the album captures the raw intensity of the band's live show matched with a more melodic, introspective aspect to Carnivores sound.
