    I Piaceri Proibiti

This is the soundtrack to the documentary I Piaceri Proibiti by Piero Umiliani. Umiliani was born in Florence, Tuscany. Like many of his Italian colleagues at that time, he composed the scores for many exploitation films in the 1960s and 1970s, covering genres such as spaghetti western, Eurospy, and Giallo.

Although not as widely regarded as, for example, Ennio Morricone or Riz Ortolani, he helped form the style of the typical European 1960s and 1970s jazz influenced film soundtrack, that later experienced a revival in films such as Kill Bill and Crepuscolo Sul Mare in Ocean's Twelve.

    2LP, 180 Gram

    60''x12'' & 36''x12'' poster

    12-Page Booklet

Tri-Fold Reversible Jacket With Soft-Touch Finish

The Hateful 8 is the eighth film by two-time Academy Award winner Quentin Tarantino, and the first time he has made a film with a dedicated score. Who better to help create and coordinate his first dedicated score than the legendary film composer and Academy Award winner, Ennio Morricone? Tarantino has used Morricone pieces in each of his most recent six films, including Django Unchained and Inglorious Basterds. The Hateful 8 marks the first time the two have collaborated throughout the production of the film to create a complete picture: bringing together the sounds, sights, and passionate grit to fabricate a truly well rounded piece of smart art.

Morricone started writing music at the age of six and has been composing critically acclaimed film scores since the 1960's when his career was launched after composing the score to The Man with No Name trilogy starring Clint Eastwood. Morricone established himself as the master of spaghetti western scores and later on began working in all genres of film with directors such as Franco Zeffirelli, Federico Felini, Roman Polanski, and Roland Joffe putting him on par with the major composers and establishing him as one of the all-time greats, composing soundtracks for over 400 film and TV projects. He has made his mark on film by blending jazz, folk, blues, funk, and classical music to make for brilliantly simple scores that set him apart from the rest. In Tarantino's tradition of not confining his soundtrack selections to space or time periods, the soundtrack also features songs from Roy Orbison, David Hess, and The White Stripes to round everything out. Hateful 8 is the most sweeping and narrative soundtrack Tarantino has released yet, and is sure to become a classic.

    Veruschka Soundtrack (Awaiting Repress)

Pressed On Pink & White Colored Vinyl

Ennio Morricone's famous soundtrack composed for the 1971 Franco Rubartelli documentary Veruschka, Poesia di una Donna about the legendary VERUSCHKA, the world's first supermodel, a real 60's/70's icon, who appeared in several cult movies including Blow Up (1966), Salome (1972) and Coleur Chair (1978).

In the Rubartelli movie, we follow the beautiful model in a shockingly surreal journey through the rural countryside of Italy on a downward spiral of self-discovery that leads her through so many whacked out head trips; heavily dark and sad with some of the most stunning psychedelic eye candy you can find from the freak-out era of filmmaking, perfectly tuned with one of Ennio Morricone's best scores.

Waxwork Records is thrilled to present the deluxe soundtrack re-issue to 1982's sci-fi horror classic, JOHN CARPENTER'S THE THING. Composed by the legendary Ennio Morricone, the soundtrack to THE THING is a landmark musical composition that is cold, dark, minimal, and effective.

Considered to be John Carpenter's directorial masterpiece, THE THING is praised as one of the greatest films of its genre by both fans and critics. Starring Kurt Russell and A. Wilford Brimley, THE THING follows a team of researchers in Antarctica as they are infiltrated by a parasitic extraterrestrial life form that assimilates other organisms and then imitates them. The classic soundtrack composed by Ennio Morricone effectively captures the cold, isolated tone of the story and film, and marks one of the few John Carpenter directed films that Carpenter did not score himself.

Waxwork Records worked for two years to ensure that such a highly anticipated and sought after vinyl soundtrack re-issue would meet and exceed expectations of the biggest fan of John Carpenter and his sci-fi / horror tour de force that is THE THING.

Features include the complete Ennio Morricone soundtrack re-mastered from the original master tapes, 180-gram White Snow colored vinyl, all new artwork by Justin Erickson of Phantom City Creative, deluxe heavyweight packaging including satin coated old-style gatefold jackets with UV spot-gloss varnish, and an 11" x 22" poster.

This time Tarantino is not only using quirky artists and songs, but a pre-released score from Ennio Morricone, Dimitri Tiomkin, Charles Bernstein and more.

    Oedipus Schomedipus

Barry Adamson's work as a bassist for Magazine and
Nick Cave's Bad Seeds gave little indication of the
complex, cinematic works he has composed as a solo
    artist.

After leaving the Bad Seeds in 1987, Adamson
decided to follow the path of film composers like John
Barry, Ennio Morricone, and Bernard Herrmann,
whose work had intrigued him since childhood.
After some releases with more of a beat-heavy pop
feel, Adamson moved back into the land of noirish
soundtrack with the release of 1996's Oedipus
    Schmoedipus.

Nick Cave adds a guest vocal to (and co-writes) "The
Sweetest Embrace"; Pulp's Jarvis Cocker can be
heard on the co-written "Set the Controls for the Heart
of the Pelvis". Adamson's skill in layering and devising
unusual sound textures still qualifies him as one of
experimental rock's more imaginative composers and
producers. With this reissue, Oedipus Schmoedipus is
being released on vinyl for the first time.

    Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight

    2LP, 180 Gram

    36''x12'' poster

    Double Gatefold Jacket

    A Certain Feeling

Their second full-length, and first release for Secretly Canadian, features instantly familiar melodies, rich harmonic color, expansively deft arrangements, and compositions that ebb, flow, and double back on themselves in cathartic synchronicity. It comes out feeling like the anthemic prog/gospel/psychedelic/kraut-tribal movie score that Ennio Morricone and Phil Spector never got around to collaborating on.

    Disco Volante

One of the most uncompromising and adventurous major label releases of the 90s, Mr. Bungles second album, originally released in 1995, is an 'alternative' record only in the vaguest sense of the word. Incorporating death metal, free jazz, experimental electronica, and ambient soundtracks, along with Mike Pattons outrageous vocal style, Disco Volante is probably the most important and groundbreaking release of Pattons storied career, and thats saying a lot. Think Faith No More, John Zorn, Frank Zappa and Ennio Morricone rolled into one.

Locus, the seventh album by the Chicago Underground Duo (Rob Mazurek and Chad Taylor), follows on the heels of their acclaimed 2012 Northern Spy release Age of Energy. Bits of breakbeat and Afropop are heard within the jazz, ambient and electronica elements of their unmistakable grooves. Also in the mix is a Ghanian folk tune and Ennio Morricone played on cornet, drums, mbira, ballophone, bamboo flute and Game Boy.

It's been an honor for Grimace Federation to continue to shift sound for nearly a decade and a half, finding themselves working alongside renowned artists, such as Aesop Rock and Circa Survive, and landing opening slots with longtime musical inspirations Tortoise and Battles. The band is currently set to drop its new EP The Measure In Mixture, via lauded hip-hop label Rhymesayers. Combining spastic krautrock beats with the grandeur of an Ennio Morricone soundtrack on a Boards of Canada sonic landscape, the album features two new tracks along with superbly badass, bass-heavy remixes from Aesop Rock. Salt

For an LP likely to be placed in the R&B aisle, Shy Girls' debut album Salt is noticeably impressionistic. At times it bears the painterly, frank essence of a Blue/Court and Spark Joni Mitchell. At others, it strides toward the progressive and cinematic. There is a striking viscerality in the crashing percussion and detuned piano of "I Am Only A Man" and in the hypnotic woodwind outro of "What If I Can." The mournful guitar dressing "Watercolor Dreams" seems to nod to Ennio Morricone -- like a future-Western ballad. And even in the stark songs that bookend the album, Vidmar delivers swelling sentiment fit for the screen.

I Speak Machine are filmmaker Maf Lewis plus vocalist and synth-nerd Tara Busch. Together they make brooding soundtracks and sci-fi horror films, creating audio and visual in unison and giving both elements equal prominence. Their approach is inspired by Spaghetti Western cinema duo Ennio Morricone and Sergio Leone, who used to play with score ideas for scenes while scripts were being written. I Speak Machine's debut offering is The Silence, an eerie and synth heavy journey to accompany their short film of the same name. Early supporters of I Speak Machine include new wave pioneer John Foxx (Ultravox) and soundtrack composer Clint Mansell (Requiem For A Dream, The Wrestler, Black Swan). I Speak Machine and illustrator Tommy Lee Edwards are currently working together on further developments to The Silence project.

    Moss Side Story

LP Reissue Of Debut Album Originally Released In 1989

Available In North America For First Time In Over 25 Years

Barry Adamson's work as a bassist for Magazine
and Nick Cave's Bad Seeds gave little indication
of the complex, cinematic works he has composed
    as a solo artist.

After leaving the Bad Seeds in 1987, Adamson
decided to follow the path of film composers like
John Barry, Ennio Morricone, and Bernard
Herrmann, whose work had intrigued him since
childhood. His first full-length album, 1989's
Moss Side Story, is a tour de force, blending
post-punk, industrial, spy guitar, and various
classic movie composer quotes into a seamless
54-minute soundtrack to an ominous film noir that
didn't exist. This recording led to Adamson's work
on soundtracks for actual films in the early '90s,
including Delusion, Gas Food Lodging, and
    Shuttle Cock.

Moss Side Story is being reissued on vinyl for the
first time since it's original release in 1989.

The Caliph's Tea Party (On Sale)

For The Caliph's Tea Party, Gonjasufi assembled a collection of artists in his musical world and invited them to exchange ideas. In this spirit, the symbolic and musical centerpiece of the album, as well as its namesake, is the result of the mutual admiration formed between Gonjasufi and Broadcast and The Focus Group. A bewitching, drastic re-working of DedNd it takes the form of a suite of layered compositions and radiophonic transmissions.

Elsewhere, reinterpretations from new talents shine while established artists continue to surprise. Mark Pritchard (Harmonic313, Africa Hitech) channels Ennio Morricone with epic orchestral dystopia on his remix of Ancestors while retaining the inherent gravity of Flying Lotus' original production. Young guns Shlomo and Jeremiah Jae eschew their labeling as beatmakers and tap into a fractured emotional core within Change and Holidays, respectively, giving them new leases on life as subtly mechanized melancholia. Bibio smooths out the rough edges of Candylane for a remix indebted to the 1980's R&B leftfield, while Brooklyn's Bear In Heaven and Oneohtrix Point Never deal in heavy motorik meditations and ethereal musique concrete.

    Underneath The Pine

Columbia, South Carolina's Chaz Bundick (aka Toro Y Moi) rose to the fore of the music blogosphere in the summer of 2009 when he and a few peers made their hazy bedroom recordings the most talked-about sound of the season. Critics across the board took notice of the range of his compositions, and his debut album, Causers of This, showcased his ability to make elements of Brian Wilson's pop, 80s R&B, and Stone's Throw hip hop coalesce into a distinct sound that's as suitable for a dancefloor as it is a pair of headphones.

When Chaz first signed to Carpark Records, the plan was to release two records in 2010, one electronic and one with live instrumentation and although it didn't quite fit into the same calendar year as his debut, Underneath the Pine is that latter offering. This release sees him following
the same creative urges to completely different ends. Having spent the year listening to film composers like Ennio Morricone and François de Roubaix, Bundick returned to his home in Columbia, the birthplace of many Toro tracks of yore, to bring his new ideas to fruition.

The result of these sessions is an album evocative of R. Stevie Moore's homespun ruminations, David Axelrod's sonic scope, Steve Reich-ian piano phrasing, and the pervasive funk of his first record. Underneath the Pine announces a new phase for an artist whose talent defies classification.

Master guitarist, Yonatan Gat (Monotonix) is back with 11 new punk inspired, improvisational, psychedelic mind melters. Recorded live by Chris Woodhouse (Ty Segall, Thee Oh Sees) in less than 3 days during a US tour, the band went into the studio with just a few songs and ideas. The goal was to capture the riotous and intricate improvisations of the band's live show. Inspired by soundtrack virtuosos like Ennio Morricone and Nino Rota, Director is edited as a cinematic circular journey around the world, East to West and North to South. This journey is interconnected by field recordings that Gat has taken during his travels, giving it a feeling of space and time. The result is a genre-bending opus that finds the band seamlessly exploring different styles of music from Brazilian psych and Afrobeat to free jazz, surf and 20th century avant-garde, sometimes in the span of just one song. Gat's wildly inventive, reverb-drenched guitar offensive takes simultaneous lead and rhythm duties, backed by Gal Lazer's hard-hitting African-inspired grooves, and Sergio Sayeg's (of Brazilian garage rockers Garotas Suecas) pumping bass.
