Kickin' Child: The Lost Album 1965

The lost 1965 Columbia album arrives- 52 years later! Here it is on vinyl with all of Dion's blueswailin', folk-blazin', rock n' stormin' monsters, track after track after track. Whoever's got the crown, label it DIMUCCI and express it to Dion, with love. Absolutely ESSENTIAL.

    This Is Acting

This Is Acting is the seventh studio album by Australian singer-songwriter, Sia, following up last year's #1 charting, critically-acclaimed, and gold-certified album, 1000 Forms Of Fear.

"Alive," the album's first single was written by Sia, Adele and Tobias Jesso, Jr. and was produced by Jesse Shatkin, who also co-wrote and co-produced Sia's massive four-time Grammy nominated "Chandelier.

An astonishingly creative and uncompromising performer, Sia is also a highly prolific hit maker and songwriter, having penned several hit singles over the last few years for others. Titanic is a 1997 American epic romance-disaster film directed, written, co-produced, and co-edited by James Cameron. The movie stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet as members of different social classes who fall in love aboard the ship during its ill-fated maiden voyage.

Upon its release on December 19, 1997, Titanic achieved critical and commercial success. Nominated for fourteen Academy Awards, it tied with All About Eve (1950) for the most Oscar nominations. It won eleven, including the awards for Best Picture and Best Director, tying Ben Hur (1959) for the most Oscars won by a single film.

Titanic: Music from the Motion Picture was composed, orchestrated and conducted by James Horner (Avatar, The Amazing Spider-Man, Southpaw, The Magnificent Seven). CÉline Dion, who was no stranger to movie songs in the 90s, sang My Heart Will Go On, the film's signature song written by James Horner and Will Jennings. The song became a worldwide smash hit, going to the top of the music charts around the world.

Heavyweight, futurist dub from a cross-generational pairing of sound systems masters. The culmination of two years in the studio developing, re-dubbing and deconstructing tracks. Free Time

Free Time formed in the summer of 2012 around Melbourne luminary songwriter Dion Nania (Panel of Judges). After moving to New York in 2011, Nania kicked around for a while, played some lead guitar with fellow Melbourne transplants Scott and Charlene's Wedding, then helped out the Twerps playing bass on a national tour. Shortly thereafter he began writing new songs with the intent of putting a new band together, eventually enlisting the support of Adrienne Humblet on bass, Jonah Maurer on guitar, and Michael Mimoun on drums.

Filling out Nania's jangly, sometimes heartbreaking pop, the band quickly recorded most of their first LP the day before Dion flew home to mix it. He returned with fragments for new songs and the band finished the record in December 2012.

Nania's songs tell stories of following love across the world, of being unsure about the future and of his place in it. Like the trans-pacific ping pong of the last 2 years of his life, his songs veer between sweet sadness and wild exuberance.

KoRn: one of the best-selling Nu Metal bands on the planet. Of their 8 studio albums the first seven have been certified platinum. 'Issues' was their first album after their mainstream breakthrough with 'Follow The Leader'.

On 'Issues' the hip hop elements of 'Follow the Leader' were removed moving the band in a more alternative and industrial metal sound rather than the so-called nu metal.

Although 'Issues' was released during a week of many highly-anticipated records, it debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 keeping Dr. Dre and Celine Dion from hitting #1. The first single from the album, Falling Away from Me, debuted on South Park in an episode titled Korn's Groovy Pirate Ghost Mystery. The band was featured in cartoon form as Scooby Doo-style mystery solvers. After the 180 grams release of Life Is Peachy we now present Issues on heavy-weight vinyl!

    Eat Their Own

Known for his work with Soft Black, New Jersey's Vincent Cacchione aka Caged Animals, has created a highly personal, wistfully nostalgic world that basks in the golden glow of love both new (Lips That Turn the Light To Fire) and old (Teflon Heart) in the haze of regret (This Summer I'll Make It Up To You) and the blur of days gone by. Taken collectively, these are songs which gather resonance with every listen and poignancy with every play, lending increasing depth and profundity towards the fleeting moments in life which we only wish could linger a little more.

Caged Animals is a wired world, but simultaneously an innocent version of darker concepts, mixing lyric and melody to create the sweetest sensation. It's a world inhabited by Raymond Carver vignettes and exhibitions of raw Neil Rough portraiture or Robert Frank's The Americans and it could be sound tracked by The Elephant 6 collective playing Dion covers, Sun Ra's future-jazz moogs and grooves, no wave's awkward DNA or Captain Beefheart at his most playful.

    Onwards To The Wall

Without any official testing, Dead Oceans can safely say that the master recording for Onwards to the Wall is the loudest one ever submitted to the label for approval. Usually, they crank the volume to catch any digital pops or hisses that may foil a master. But this one they actually had to, ashamedly, put at half volume. This thing is pummeling. Theres no other way to capture the music of A Place To Bury Strangers than just beyond the boundary of whats considered properly loud. Produced, engineered, mixed and mastered by APTBS themselves, this is the sound of a band in control of making out of control music.

Onwards to the Wall packs every bit of the searing sonic maelstrom listeners have come to expect from APTBS. Yet, the adroit songcraft thats always been there is brought more to the fore, pop hooks are repurposed and more instantly recognizable. Now joined by bassist Dion Lunadon, formerly of The D4, Ackerman has found a crucial companion in pulling timeless melodies from their jet engine textures. Standout So Far Away takes all the pure pop perfection of The Box Tops The Letter and shoots it through with a barely-harnessed dark energy and snarling propulsion. The title track carries a similar balance of classic, '60s-pop hooks and doomed-out vibes, employing a boy-girl vocal trade-off thats at once both sexy and menacing.

Onwards to the Wall is a fresh, complete artistic statement from A Place To Bury Strangers . Its a new chapter, a prelude for what awaits us on the horizon. It is a taste of greatness to come.

    Worship

Guitars as jet engines; guitars as haunted electronics; guitars as filling-melting white heat: A Place To Bury Strangers' new album Worship is explosive, visceral, and dark. APTBS' DIY-braintrust of Death By Audio wizard Oliver Ackermann and bassist Dion Lunadon continue the evolution of songwriting that began with Onwards to the Wall, the band's 2011 EP.

Now on Worship, they interweave threads of krautrock, dream-pop, and '80s goth without ever losing the edge that is quintessentially A Place To Bury Strangers. Unhinged dissonance is artfully framed within a fiercely dynamic and assured melodic sensibility. Standout You Are The One is a coldwave white squall, with Ackerman coming through like an austere and menacing Damo Suzuki. Later on Dissolved, the band methodically builds an atmospheric battle charge only to take a hard left mid-song into pure, shimmering Cure territory. There are ambitious, trend-bucking choices at every turn.

This album was written, recorded, mixed and mastered by A Place To Bury Strangers. It is our vision of what our music should sound like in 2012, not someone else's interpretation, says Lunadon. Every sound on the album is made by us and our tools; tools created by us, used on no other recordings, and purposefully built for this project. This is real. Some of it is the band being in complete control; bending, shaping and building the songs and the sounds. Other parts are the band relinquishing control and letting the songs and sounds take over and produce themselves. We are not trying to reinvent ourselves, but simply push ourselves further in all aspects of our music.

We made this, we recorded this, we did everything, adds Ackerman. Yes, we chose to do this and no, we didn't have to but we think it is pretty cool. No producer made us. We didn't go to school for any of this and we don't have time for tutorials. We invented this and now we are sharing it with you.

    Transfixiation

    Limited To 2,000 Copies Worldwide

[A Place to Bury Strangers] sculpts something unexpectedly elegant out of the type of din you'd expect to
hear on an airport tarmac - SPIN MAGAZINE

Hypnotic and forward-looking, A Place to Bury Strangers sound more vital than ever"- ALLMUSIC

A real sonic adventure that never relinquishes its grip on structure, despite the fact that the guitar effects
pedals are practically stomped into the floor- POPMATTERS

That's the most intense fear and feeling-when you go to a show and you're actually scared, says Oliver
Ackermann, guitarist and frontman of Brooklyn trio A Place To Bury Strangers.

Or you can palpably feel the danger in the music, adds bassit Dion Lunadon, Like it's going to fall apart
at any moment and the players doing it are so in the moment they don't give a shit about anything else.
They're just going for it. It's a gutter kinda vibe; everything about it is icky and evil and dangerous.

The same could be said the band's fourth album, Transfixiation. Rather than fixate on the minute details
like they may have done in the past, the group, rounded out by drummer Robi Gonzalez, trust their
instincts and try to keep things as pure as possible. Music is much more exhilarating when it's
unpredictable even on repeat plays, and this is very much an unpredictable record. Gonzalez makes his
recording debut with the band here, and it's obvious that he's helped pushed the band's recordings closer
to the level of their infamous live shows.

The one thing we have in common is this fire when we're playing, adds Gonzalez. I don't know; it's real
    intense.

Carole King is the most successful female songwriter of the 20th century, having written or co-written 118 pop hits on the Billboard Hot 100 between 1955 and 1999. She also wrote 61 hits that charted in the UK, making her the most successful female songwriter on the UK singles charts between 1952 and 2005.

Carole King has won four Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for her songwriting. She is the recipient of the 2013 Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song, the first woman to be honored this way.

Love Makes The World by Carole King was officially released in 2001 and is now finally available on vinyl for the first time. The album features a variety of well-known musicians like Babyface, Steven Tyler, Celine Dion, Wynton Marsalis and K.D. Lang.

King's distinctive piano and heartfelt vocals belt out tunes with spare accompaniment. The string quartet on Uncommon Love seems organically relaxed and K.D. Lang remains appropriately low-key throughout the duet.

The yearning of You Will Find Me There recalls the simple poetic honesty of You've Got a Friend both lyrically and musically.
