Obliteration make their Relapse debut with 'Black Death Horizon' a raging slab of filthy death metal in the tradition of Dismember and Autopsy. Hailing from Kolbotn, Norway (the home of Darkthrone) Obliteration are true heirs to a long line of gritty Scandinavian death metal. Black Death Horizon both invokes the classics of the genre and puts a new and fresh spin on the sound to make it their own. When Life Comes To Death

YAITW (Young and in the Way) are a blackened metal/crust hybrid from the shadows of North Carolina. Over the last four years YAITW have evolved through multiple releases from vicious monster to multi-headed beast. With each offering melding a vicious metal speed and hypnotic atmospherics with a bleak hardcore/punk spirit.

When Life Comes To Death is the newest album from YAITW. It is their eleven song war between the pain of living and the magnetic pull of death. Each song is as dispirited and vitriolic as the next. Embattled opener Betrayed By Light emerges from darkness first, setting an ominous tone with haunting buzz-saw guitars, vicious vocals, and crushing d-beat drumming. While YAITW embrace demon speed and emotional dynamics in nihilistic hymns Be My Blood, Take My Hand, We Are Nothing, and more. All leading to closers Shadow of Murder and Embrace Extinction, that together play as an aural eclipse of truly epic proportions.

A bastard child born of the mid 90s punk/metal/hardcore movement, Darkest Hour combines the passion, energy, and soul of punk/hardcore with the style, speed, vengeance and fury of melodic speed/thrash/death metal.

In a decade-without-a-name, Darkest Hour defined the entire new wave of American metal sound and gave the metal and hardcore/punk world a revitalization it surely needed. This new style blended the raw, hardcore punk of the 80s with the Scandinavian death metal of the 90s and forged a sound that would later become the template for modern metal.

Their third and most innovative album, Undoing Ruin, brilliantly mixes death metal rolls with straight-up thrash-metal shredding. They even throw some piano in here and there, but they do so without compromising their trademark sound. However, the sound here is more developed, the production outstanding, and the overall composition of the record secured its position among the elite metal albums of 2005.

With all the speed and fury of Hidden Hands of a Sadist Nation, all the melody and songwriting of Undoing Ruin and all the technicality and musicianship of Deliver Us, 2009's The Eternal Return, their sixth full-length overall, is an epic and furious record that captures every aspect of the Darkest Hour's sound and takes everything that the band has perfected in the past and pushes it over the edge.

Appropriately enough, the record focuses on the duality of death and birth. From beginning to end, The Eternal Return completely engages the audience with its energy, fury, and passion. Each song on this record is a perfect example of the raw power and superb musicianship that Darkest Hour is known for. The album reaffirms that the band is still doing the unexpected, still pushing a genre to its extreme, and still a heavy metal powerhouse to be reckoned with. Take the fierce energy of a hardcore band, add a touch of metal and what you unleash is the perfect combination only known as New Haven CT's Hatebreed. Tired with the current state of heavy music singer Jamey Jasta wanted to asssemble music that would hit everyone over the head and begin the awakening.

Jamey states that was the reason we started this band. In Connecticut in 1993 people considered Quicksand hardcore and I'm thinking 'no way this is indie rock.' We wanted simple songs with simple song structures. All out brutality, 30 seconds and it is done. Aptly put by Thrasher, Hatebreed means business, they don't fuck around, and they don't waste your time.

Their 1997 Victory Records debut Satisfaction is the Death Is The Satisfaction of Desire is a certifiable hardcore phenomenon, a top selling release that continues to make strides and has sold more copies than any other debut in the history of the label. If you can't quite put your finger on it, Jamey will for you, This recording has that evil, it resides in all of us. It's what fuels us. Death To False Metal is not a traditional collection of studio leftovers or songs from the vault, but a wholly original follow-up to Weezer's just-released Hurley. The album was created using the basic tracks of 10 previously unreleased recordings-nine never-before-heard songs plus one cover-to assemble a brand new and truly modern-sounding record. The result is an evolution for the band, a giant step forward with a nod to the past.

''These were great songs, great recordings, but for some reason they didn't make the final cut for previous records,'' Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo stated. ''Some just weren't right for the albums we were recording at the time-just a bit ahead of their time or too 'rock.' Now, the time is right to introduce them. Together, they are the album that should logically follow Hurley.''

Featuring tracks the band originally began recording from the late '90s to late '00s, Death To False Metal was a labor of love for Cuomo and his co-producer Shawn Everett, as well as the entire band. Each track was individually evaluated by the production team of Cuomo and Everett to figure out how to make each of the songs reach their full potential, and ultimately fit harmoniously on the album. After that process, they then brought in each band member in to complete the parts needed. Some of the ten songs received a major overhaul, while others got the equivalent of a sonic tune-up.

''Turning Up The Radio'' is the result of Cuomo's 2008 collaborative YouTube project, ''Let's Write A Sawng,'' for which he invited fans to submit ideas. As they went through the steps of composing a tune, eventually, 15 people became involved. This track is one of only two songs not solely penned by Weezer for Death To False Metal.

''Blowin' My Stack,'' ''Losing My Mind'' (which features some of the most raw and personal emotions in a Weezer song), ''I'm A Robot,'' and a rock cover of the massive R&B hit ''Un-Break My Heart'' were all first recorded prior to the release of 2005's Make Believe. ''I Don't Want Your Loving'' was originally laid down as a demo for 2002's Maladroit. The abrasive punk-metal ''Everyone'' hails from post-1998 Pinkerton period, as does the pop song ''Trampoline.'' The piano-based ''Odd Couple'' and new-wave-style ''Auto-Pilot'' were laid down prior to 2008's Weezer (aka ''The Red Album'').

The title Death To False Metal comes from a phrase that Cuomo and his younger brother used when they were kids. Musical integrity was a matter of life or death then, and now the new album is a reminder of how important music is for both Weezer and their many fans. At a time when many of their contemporaries seem to have forgotten how to rock, Weezer is ready to teach them. Cuomo and fellow axe-slinger Brian Bell crafted nine epic guitar solos-one for nearly every song on Death To False Metal-and with the band's signature hooks in full effect, Weezer's school of rock is back in session.

Death Penalty is the debut album by NWOBHM band Witchfinder General. It was released in 1982 on Heavy Metal Records. The album received some criticism for the cover photograph, which featured topless model Joanne Latham. The photograph had been taken in the yard of St Mary the Blessed Virgin Church in Enville, Staffordshire, without the permission of the local Reverend. The album was originally released on LP and picture disc and was later reissued on CD. Pictured on the cover is Phil Cope, Zeeb Parkes, Graham Ditchfield and a member of the then Road Crew. While Peter Hinton is credited with producing this recording the writers Phil Cope and Zeeb Parkes always felt the credit should have gone to the engineer Robin George.

    Blood Fire Death

Blood Fire Death is the fourth album by the Swedish band Bathory. It continued the band's transition towards more epic songwriting, and includes some of the first Viking metal recordings, although is still mostly black metal. Bathory was formed in Stockholm in 1983. Founder Quorthon, a seventeen-year-old guitarist, was joined by bassist Hanoi and drummer Vans. After various name changes (beginning with Nosferatu, then Natas, Mephisto, Elizabeth Bathory and Countess Bathory) they finally settled on Bathory. Their first recording deal came that same year, when Quorthon managed to secure the consent of Tyfon Grammofon's boss to record two tracks for the compilation Scandinavian Metal Attack. The tracks which he recorded gained unexpected attention by fans. Soon afterward, Tyfon Grammofon contacted Quorthon and asked him to record a full-length album. Although Venom's Black Metal, released in 1982, was the first record to coin the term, it was Bathory's early albums, featuring Satanic lyrics, low-fi production and an inhuman vocal style, that defined the genre. Many fans have speculated Venom was an influence on Bathory; however, Quorthon has said in an interview with Kick Ass magazine in 1985 he only heard of Venom after the first Bathory album was released. He also expressed dislike for many influential and popular heavy metal bands at the time, such as Iron Maiden and Judas Priest. He has also stated the band's early work was influenced primarily by Black Sabbath, Motorhead, and punk rock. Bathory's self-titled debut album, and the subsequent releases The Return and Under the Sign of the Black Mark, are now regarded as major influences on the Norwegian bands which extended black metal's musical progression and popularity in the beginning of the 1990s.

    Death Walks Behind You (Pre-Order)

Pressed On 180 Gram Vinyl With Gatefold Sleeve

Death Walks Behind You is the second studio album by British rock band Atomic Rooster. It is commonly thought of as the archetypal Atomic Rooster album, recorded by the 'classic' line-up of Vincent Crane, John Du Cann and Paul Hammond.

It is, critically and commercially, their most successful album and often hailed as a classic of the progressive rock genre. It also produced the hit single Tomorrow Night (UK #11), which became one of the band's best-known songs. The album's cover features the William Blake monotype Nebuchadnezzar.

The title track was covered on record in 1992 by Paradise Lost, in 2000 by Bigelf (on their album Money Machine) and in 2012 by Swedish death metal band NonExist.

A repackaging and remastering job restores the original artwork in all its gatefold glory.

    A Death Grip On Yesterday

ATREYU exploded from the bitter depths of bright and sunny Orange County, California in 2002, with their sights set on creating the standard for hard rock in the new millennium. After selling 600,000 albums, headlining sold out world tours and spawning an army of unworthy imitators, ATREYU have done just that. Now ATREYU is taking the world by the throat once again with their stunningly intense and highly anticipated new album, A Deathgrip On Yesterday. Quickly devouring any preconceived notions about their trademark metallic riffs and evil, thunderous, guttural vocals, ATREYU have not only written the book on exceeding expectations and reinventing genres, they continue to live it with A Deathgrip On
Yesterday. Josh Abraham, respected producer for his work on albums with KORN, VELVET REVOLVER and STAIND, manned the controls on A Deathgrip On Yesterday. The result is nothing less than a haunting masterpiece that picks up where 2004's smash, The Curse, left off.

To The Death 84 (Awaiting Repress)

Voivod originally formed in 1983, with a weird hybrid of thrash metal and punk, a sound that made them stand out as a unique band from the beginning. Still together after almost 30 years, having made more than a dozen albums and toured the world, the Canadian group reaches back to the beginning of their career for their first Alternative Tentacles release.

Voivod began as four friends who met in high school and decided to get together to play some heavy music. Growing up in Northern Quebec in an aluminum factory area called Saguenay (which they dubbed Morgoth Land), they shared a liking of Venom, Motörhead, Tank, Discharge and GBH, as well as obscure prog and krautrock bands like Van Der Graaf Generator, Faust and Can. They were scared of the threat of a nuclear war and Reagan-era concepts such as the Strategic Defense Initiative, and had a dystopian view of the future.

To the Death 84 is 70 minutes of loud, blistering metal/punk. Recorded live in the bands jam space in January of 1984 with an old tape recorder and a couple of microphones, it nonetheless sounds great and hits as hard today as it did back then. This demo tape was sent to all the fanzines the band knew of at the time, and has circulated among collectors for years. The lineup for these recordings was Snake (Denis BÉlanger) on lead vocals, Piggy (Denis DAmour) on guitar, Blacky (Jean-Yves ThÉriault) on bass and Away (Michel Langevin) on drums. The track listing includes songs from War and Pain, their debut album, and six others, including a Mercyful Fate cover and two Venom covers.

III: Tabula Rasa Or Death And The Seven Pillars

THE DEVIL'S BLOOD announced at the beginning of 2013 that they have returned to nothingness. At the same time, they announced that plans had already been put into motion to release new material.

SL comments on the release: Prior to our disbanding on the 22nd of January 2013, we had been active with the pre-production of what was to be our third album. Seven songs, the complete outline of the album, had been, in humble form, recorded in my home recording studio and these demos were supposed to be the template for our studio recordings. Obviously, we would never make it that far and the initial shock of that fact saddened us greatly. After but a few days we listened to this material again and decided that even though the audio quality might not be what people have come to expect from a THE DEVIL'S BLOOD release, the song material was and is the best we have ever done. We came to the conclusion that these songs deserve to become a part of The Canon and that we would release them as is.

I spent a few days gathering all the demo material together, made a very simple mix and gave the material to our friend and mentor Pieter G. Kloos to master in his studio. Here we present you with the titles of the material and the artwork which was done by Manuel Tinnemans.

The song we have chosen to release now is 'White Storm Of Teeth'. More so than the other material, this song speaks to the completion and transubstantiation that always follows an Occult path. Not the end of a journey but the start of a completely new one. Built around thirteen stanzas in the first part and thirteen stanzas in the second part the process of inner enlightenment through confusion and entropy and the initiation through the Death of the lower self is illustrated. This theme is rampant throughout the record and its lyrics but here it culminates and completely devours itself. After this work no words are needed and, on the album, none are offered.

THE DEVIL'S BLOOD has always been an entity that defied any fealty or thankfulness towards any earthly influence. But we as people need not hold to this paradigm any longer. We therefore wish to express our sincere thankfulness to all those who have supported this weird quest and have made the earthly woes to not work against us. You most definitely know who you are.

    Rabid Death's Curse

In a scene of countless carbon copies and soulless attempts to evoke the majesty of the ancient Swedish Black/Death Metal legacy, WATAIN stand alone solemnly. They are watching from the shadows, in genuine victorious sincerity.

Watain being one of the best bands truly dedicated to keeping the flickering flame of black metal burning black. Utterly cult and underground yet undeniably skilled and intelligent. It's feral, fast, frenzied and ferocious. (Aquarius)

    Gore Metal: A Necrospective

Originally released in 1998, EXHUMED's now-classic debut full-length, Gore Metal, was a boundary defying offering of filth-ridden, grinding, over-the-top death-metal. Unrepentantly fast, furious and maniacal, Gore Metal gleamed with a delightful audio repugnance bedecked in blazing riff infiltrations, slasher-film-inspired lyrics and vile cover art. It was the record that made Carcass seem PG-rated by comparison and thus certified itself as a true underground classic.

Not content to let the album rot away, EXHUMED returned to the studio almost two decades later to re-record the landmark offering. The resulting Gore Metal: A Necrospective 1998 - 2015, set for release this February via Relapse Records, maintains the maniacal ferocity of the original recordings while adding depth to the sonic devourment thanks in no small part to years of touring and a vastly improved-sounding recording quality.

Proclaims vocalist/guitarist Matt Harvey: I'm super pumped that we got the chance to re-recordGore Metal. I don't think any of us were happy with how it turned out the first time around, so getting another shot at it meant a lot to me personally. I was also really excited to have our old friend Ross Sewage reprise his vocals on the new version, ensuring that it still sounds like that era ofEXHUMED, though things are a lot more audible this time around!
