    Dark Side Of The Moon

Ranked 43/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

Remastered From The Original Analogue Tapes By James Guthrie, Joel Plante, And Bernie Grundman

Pink Floyd's most successful and singularly defining album is here to stay. The Dark Side of the Moon has sold over 40 million copies worldwide since its release in 1973, and it shows no signs of letting up. With lush, immaculate production and sweeping instrumentals, The Dark Side of the Moon is unrivaled in sonic brilliance. The complex textures found within have captivated audiophiles for over thirty years.

With lyrics about seemingly mundane details set against dreamy, atmospheric backdrops, the songs on The Dark Side of the Moon achieve a truly emotional response. Performances are not virtuosic, but they are brilliant nonetheless and were likewise brilliantly recorded. Abbey Road Studios engineer Alan Parsons and Pink Floyd made use of some of the most advanced techniques available at the time to craft a sound that was innovative yet entirely classic, by any sense of the word. Swirling organs, mellow drums, and spacious guitars are signature sounds that have been inextricably linked with Pink Floyd's magnificent songwriting.

The Dark Side of the Moon is a peerless entry in the annals of classic rock history. No record collection should be without this multi-platinum masterpiece.

    Dark Side Of The Spoon

Available On Vinyl For The First Time

Dark Side Of The Spoon is the seventh studio album by Industrial Metal band Ministry, released in 1999. The song Bad Blood was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance in 2000.

There are two theories behind the title (which occurs in the lyrics of the opening track), the first being a simple play on words, referencing Pink Floyd's record The Dark Side Of The Moon. The second is a reference to the blackened or dark side of a spoon when heated to dissolve heroin, as the band suffered from addiction to said substance at the time.

The album's cover, which features a naked fat woman sitting in front of a black board with I will be god written numerous times gained controversy and was banned from Kmart. The woman and the words on the blackboard were later airbrushed out.

    Wish You Were Here

Ranked 209/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

On its release in 1975 Wish You Were here topped the album charts in both the UK and the US. Reflecting the band's thoughts of the time on the music business, and exploring themes of absence, Wish You Were Here contains the classic cut Shine On You Crazy Diamond, a tribute to founder member Syd Barrett.

Since 1967 Pink Floyd have produced one of the most outstanding and enduring catalogues in the history of recorded music. The albums have been painstakingly remastered by James Guthrie (co-producer of The Wall). Artwork designed by long-time artwork collaborator Storm Thorgerson. As a part of their Why Pink Floyd? campaign, EMI has chosen to release three titles on collector's vinyl LP (throughout the year 2011 and into early 2012) including The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, and The Wall. Shake It Up (On Sale)

Sonically Spectacular LP Half-Speed Mastered from the Original Tapes!

1981 Album a Return to Pop and a New-Wave Landmark

A return to form after the departure that was 1980s muddled Panorama, the Cars Shake It Up bursts forth with a rich assembly of synthesizers, drum machines, electronic blips, and catchy melodies that make it an early 80s pop staple. Known the world over, the famous title track proves the bands arrangement skills were in perfect shape and set the stage for a record overflowing with memorable hooks and complementary rock riffs.

Shake It Up also plays witness to primary songwriter/vocalist Ric Ocaseks increased cynicism and biting wit. While the Cars never took a rosy-eyed view of romance, the songs here impart a newfound sense of sympathy, regret, limbo, and reservation. The beauty of the Carsand all ten tunes hereis that the music suggests something else entirely. Such subliminal emotions and dynamic contrasts act as a magnet, and the band plays as if its in on the secret.

They've always cultivated a dark side--girls make boys want to end it all even after the boys have grown up. They've always basked in the shadow of Roxy Music, too. But they've never been so stylishly nightmarish--except for the title cut, even the fast ones don't aim for fun. Robert Christgau, The Consumer Guide

Apart from the party vibe of the title cut, the Cars aim for deeper targets and smarter undertones. Shake It Up is defined by an urban edginess and modern feel that comes alive on tunes such as Cruiser and circular Im Not the One, a pop gem laded with stacked vocals and keyboard lines that double as a horn section. The bands arrangements have never been betteror more involved. Absent the cheesiness that would mar the groups late-period work, the songs ride on the strength of keyboard-heavy lines and layered harmonies. You will not be disappointed.

Half-speed mastered from the original analog tapes, Mobile Fidelitys numbered limited-edition LP focuses on the myriad pitch changes that control the musical directions. Recorded at the bands Synchro Sound studios by famed Queen producer Roy Thomas Baker, the album takes advantage of electronic textures and varying timbres in immersing the listener in accessible albeit abstract washes of sound. MoFis engineers made sure to capture every note and nuance; this marks the first time that Shake It Up has been remastered in any way, let alone from the original tapes.

    Dark Red

Dark Red is the second full-length album from Shlohmo, aka 25 year-old Los Angeles native Henry Laufer. The album is an uncanny marriage of his ever-evolving, richly textured sound with shades of 90s IDM, R&B, cassette-tape Jungle, and, in an unexpected turn, sludge metal. "It sounds like if Electric Wizard tried to make an R&B record," he says, "or Boards of Canada meets Burzum by the River Styx." Shlohmo's music thus far exists in the poles between the subtle textured tracks of 2011's Bad Vibes and the booming sinister synths and hihats of his production work and remixes (split EP with Jeremih, Banks' "Brain", remixes for Drake + The Weeknd). Dark Red utilizes Shlohmo's existing palate but also mines the noises and imperfections inherent in analog production and naturally damaged sounds. Side-stepping current trends that lean towards pristine, computer-generated production, Dark Red explores natural distortion, fuzz and noise as compositional tools, intentionally distressing sounds to echo the feeling of the icy menace and emotional charge found on early black metal tapes. The result is a deeply personal listen, Shlohmo's boldest statement yet.

Light: On The South Side (Awaiting Repress)

    2 LPs and 132-page book!

Between 1975-1977, Chicago's South Side night clubs were a little lighter. Photographer Michael Abramson hit Perv's House, Pepper's Hideout, The High Chaparral, The Patio Lounge, and The Showcase Lounge, not to capture the artists on stage, instead popping off a half dozen rolls every night on the crowd. Light: On The South Side gathers for the first time over 100 of these images, as Numero Group shines its own strobe on yet another dark corner of the past. The 132-page hard back book features photos, an ephemera section, and an essay by Nick Hornby.

Housed in a gorgeous slipcase with the 12x12 book is Pepper's Jukebox, a seventeen track compilation of the kind of funky Chicago blues heard from the stage and the Wurlitzer. The deluxe 2LP set is packaged in a sharp gatefold jacket with two inner sleeves crammed to the gills with label scans and stories. All in all, it's the classiest Numero record ever made, spotted easily from across the room with its near 2 spine.

Light: On the South Side is undoubtedly Numeros most extravagant and audaciously packaged seta dazzling collection that should receive an automatic Grammy nomination for Best Recording Package. Housed in a slipcase box, the compilations 2-LP gatefold vinyl and 132-page hardbound 12x12 book offer the ultimate immersion into Chicagos African-American South Side nightclubs and the sounds, sights, personalities, and smells that filled them on a nightly basis. The gorgeous collection is a prerequisite for any fan of blues, R&B, and soul (and by natural extension, rock and pop)and anyone curious to glimpse a bygone era of life-after-dark celebrations staged by urbanites that lived for evenings on the dance floor, in front of the Wurlitzer, and in leather booths surrounded by the opposite sex, booze, and cigarettes. -Bob Gendron, TONE Audio, Issue 25

    Through A Glass Darkly

Two essential recordings from Radiophonic Workshop members Paddy Kingsland & Peter Howell get the reissue treatment on June 2nd with the vinyl only release of Kingsland's exceptional 1973 album Fourth Dimension, alongside fellow member Peter Howell's ARP synth opus, 1978's Through A Glass Darkly. Both of these albums have been crate diggers' gold for many years and are reissued for the very first time.

The BBC Radiophonic Workshop came together in 1958 to produce music and sound effects for BBC Radio and Television programmes using hand built, custom designed electronic, tape and electro-acoustic techniques. By the mid-1970s, the synthesiser era was well-and-truly here, with the Workshop increasingly being asked to provide theme tunes and background music for TV and radio.

Production on Peter Howell's first solo album Through a Glass Darkly started in 1977, with Peter given the opportunity to develop a new suite of compositions specifically to cover one side of the album, albeit on a typically tight BBC time schedule and virtually non-existent budget! The album stands shoulder to shoulder with Vangelis's Beauborg and Jean Michel Jarre's Equinoxe, in terms of its influence and pioneering use of synthesizers.

Pete Brown was a Londoner and a veteran of the underground scene. Born in 1940, he first came to prominence as a poet. He was just 14 when his first poem appeared in Evergreen Revue in the US. Then in the early sixties he worked alongside another British poet Mike Horowitz. His direct involvement with rock music came when he was asked to form a songwriting partnership with Jack Bruce to write lyrics for Cream and the partnership proceeded to produce the lyrics for many of their finest songs: Wrapping Paper, I Feel Free, Sunshine Of Your Love and White Room. After the demise of Cream, Brown continued to write with Bruce but also began his own recording career with The Battered Ornaments who included Chris Spedding. After an initial 45, which with its wailing saxes and effective vocals was underrated, the band recorded this album which was a mixture of jazz-rock and blues. Dark Lady, The Old Man and Station Song were among the fine tracks and the latter later got a further airing on the Before Singing Lessons compilation. Station Song and Dark Lady had earlier featured along with Travelling Blues on the ultra-rare promo-only Harvest Sampler in 1969.

Brown then suffered the humiliation of being thrown out of the band the night before they had a Hyde Park gig with The Rolling Stones. Brown's response was to form a new band, Piblokto!

This release breaks the long sides down to four sides of vinyl which enhances the sound quality considerably. Also of interest is that it has been mastered in the same studio at Abbey Road as was the initial release and from the same original analogue tape masters.

    About Pure Pleasure

At the beginning of the 90s, in the early days of audiophile vinyl re-releases, the situation was fairly straightforward. Companies such as DCC, Mobile Fidelity, Classic Records and, of course, Pure Pleasure all maintained a mutual, unwritten ethical code: we would only use analogue tapes to manufacture records.

During the course of the present vinyl hype, many others have jumped on the bandwagon in the hope of securing a corner of the market. Very often they are not so ethical and use every imaginable source to master from: CDs, LPs, digital files, MP3s - or employed existent tools from the 80s and 90s for manufacturing.

A digital delay is gladly used when cutting a lacquer disc because tape machines with an analogue delay have become quite rare and are therefore expensive. When cutting the lacquer, the audio signal is delayed by one LP revolution against the signal, which controls the cutter head, and for this a digital delay is very often employed. Of course, the resultant sound signal is completely digital and thus only as good as this delay.

We should like to emphasize that Pure Pleasure Records on principle only uses the original master tape as the basis for the entirely analogue cutting of lacquer discs. In addition, the pressing tool is newly manufactured as a matter of principle.

We only employ existing tools for manufacturing if an improved result is not forthcoming, e.g. the title Elvis Is Back, which was mastered by Steve Hoffman and Kevin Gray, or several titles from our Philips Classics series, which in any case Willem Makkee cut from the original masters at the Emil Berliner Studios in the 90s. It goes without saying that we only used the mother and that new tools were made for our production.

To put it in a nutshell: we can ensure you that our releases are free from any kind of digital effects and that the lacquer discs are newly cut.

    Rays of Darkness

"One of the most distinctive bands of
    the 21st Century." - Pitchfork

"MONO have now well and truly
sealed their place in the pantheon of
    rock history." - Rock Sound

When MONO began in 1999, they set out with a simple mission:
From bliss to bludgeon, no matter how long or winding the path
may be. Their debut album, Under The Pipal Tree, outlined that
mission in twisted, psychedelic fury. Subsequent albums would see
the band honing their craft, mastering their mission, and ultimately
abandoning that path in favor of more grandiose pursuits. Flanked
by increasingly larger orchestras, MONO performed live at some of
the most prestigious venues in New York City, London, Tokyo, and
Australia. MONO had become an orchestral rock band, a spectacle
of extreme melancholy and melodrama. By 2012's For My Parents,
the band had finally reached the logical conclusion of that era; it
was time to remember where they started, and to rethink where
they were heading. Less strings? No strings? Louder? Quieter?
    Lighter? Darker? Yes.

The Last Dawn and Rays of Darkness are a pair of new albums by
MONO. Recorded simultaneously yet conceptually and creatively
disparate, the two act as both opposing and complementary sides
to a story. No strangers to narratives, the twin albums explore
familiar themes for the band: Hope and hopelessness, love and
loss, immense joy and unspeakable pain. Those elemental parts of
life and the complicated relationships they create have never been
more resonant through MONO's music than they are here.

Rays of Darkness is the first MONO album in 15 years to feature
no orchestral instruments whatsoever. That fact alone is
remarkable given the band's reputation for sweeping, dramatic
instrumentals that recall Oscar-worthy film scores. Instead, Rays of
Darkness more closely resembles a jet engine taking off inside a
small, crowded auditorium. It is MONO's blackest album ever, a
collection of scorched riffs, doom rhythms, and an unexpected
contribution from post-hardcore pioneer Tetsu Fukagawa of Envy.
The album ends with the smoldering wreckage of distorted guitars
and ominous drones playing out a eulogy to the days when MONO
shot blinding rays of light through seemingly endless darkness.

Produced by Britt Daniel of Spoon, this eponymous debut perfectly captures the band's strong pop sensibility also found on their debut long-player, Fear Is On Our Side from earlier this year. Included among the EP's five tracks is the live favorite and venerable set closer Your Worst Is The Best, which features dueling vocals over a chiming Rhodes and epic guitar lines. Army Of Darkness Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Awaiting Repress)

Just in time for the next chapter in the Evil Dead saga (TV series Ash Vs. The Evil Dead) Mondo is proud to release the soundtrack Sam Raimi's Army Of Darkness. Returning along side star Bruce Campbell, is masterful composer Joe LoDuca who also crafted the terrifying scores to the first and second Evil Dead. Like the film, LoDuca's score to Army Of Darkness is an ambitious blending of genre that was ahead of its time. Part swashbuckling adventure, part horror, part comedy, Army Of Darkness saw LoDuca reaching new heights with his composing which would later become his forte, as he bounced back and forth between composing Horror films and adventure televisions series such as Hercules and Spartacus. Performed by The Seattle Symphony Orchestra & Chorus. ''March Of The Dead Theme'' by Danny Elfman.

This album was spawned by three coinciding events -- the need to acknowledge the death of band co-founder Brian Jones (whose epitaph graces the inside cover) in July of 1969; the need to get Honky Tonk Women, then a huge hit single, onto an LP; and to fill the ten-month gap since the release of Beggars Banquet and get an album with built-in appeal into stores ahead of the Stones' first American tour in three years. The fact that the Stones had amassed a sufficient number of hits since their last greatest-hits compilation in early 1966 (Big Hits: High Tide and Green Grass) made this a no-brainer, and its song lineup was as potent at the time as any compilation of hit singles by any artist. From the group's excursions into fey psychedelia (Paint It, Black, Ruby Tuesday, She's a Rainbow, Dandelion), space rock (2000 Light Years From Home), punk decadence (Mother's Little Helper), and back to straight-ahead rock & roll (Jumpin' Jack Flash), some of it with a topical edge (Street Fighting Man), it's all incredibly potent, though also redundant to the extent that Ruby Tuesday and Let's Spend the Night Together had previously appeared on two U.S. albums. The presence of Honky Tonk Women propelled it to gold record status upon release on both sides of the Atlantic, although the simultaneously released British version (long out of print, except as a bootleg CD) is different and more confusing, but also more diverse and rewarding musically than the American version. Both this album and Big Hits: High Tide and Green Grass have been supplanted by Hot Rocks and More Hot Rocks, but are still handy in their tight respective focuses.

    Beaucoup Fish

Following the success of the single Born Slippy (NUXX) from its use in the film Trainspotting, Beaucoup Fish was
Underworld's most anticipated release. It spawned several successful singles, including "Moaner. Push Upstairs
& Jumbo, were both hits on the dance charts & in clubs. Beaucoup Fish was well-received critically (one review
calling it electronica's The Dark Side of the Moon) & remains Underworld's most successful album, with over one

    Eddie And The Cruisers Soundtrack

The legendary East Coast Rock'n'Roll group John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band began their career in 1972 and achieved mainstream success in the 1980s with the Eddie & The Cruisers - Motion Picture Soundtrack. This 1983 drama may have missed the mark at the box office (mixed reviews didn't help), but a year after its release, the rediscovered soundtrack began climbing the charts, prompting the studio to re-release the record. Includes the No. 1 hit On the Dark Side, as well as Runaround Sue, Down on My Knees, and Hang up My Rock & Roll Shoes.

    Diamonds and Death

They say location is everything, so it should come as no surprise to learn that the aesthetic shift audible on Diamonds & Death, the fourth album by VHS or Beta, was accompanied by a change of zip code. Two years ago, founding band member, Mark Palgy relocated from Louisville, KY to Brooklyn, NY. Six months later, his creative foil, Craig Pfunder followed. New surroundings exerted a powerful influence on the predominantly electronic grooves of their first full-length since 2007's Bring on the Comets.

The album juxtaposes more straightforward dance floor tracks like the jittery Watch Out with experimental yet sublime electronic fare such as Jellybean, a trippy excursion pitched somewhere between Pink Floyd and the dark side of Italo-disco. While the grooves of Diamonds & Death are among the band's most optimistic and propulsive to date, it is no accident that they are often paired with dark lyrics, as on the crisp, percolating single Breaking Bones.

    Hello (I Love You)

Very limited last copies of this audiophile 12 vinyl single of the Roger Waters song Hello
    (I Love You).

    First come first served!

Hello (I Love You) is a song performed by former Pink Floyd member Roger Waters. The
song was created as a collaborative effort with Howard Shore for the 2007 film The Last Mimzy.

As Waters stated, I think together we've come up with a song that captures the themes of the
movie - the clash between humanity's best and worst instincts, and how a child's innocence can
    win the day.

Waters performed vocals and the bass for the song.
The song itself contains references to the Pink Floyd albums The Wall and The Dark Side of the
Moon, as well as Waters' solo album Radio KAOS.

    Pyramid

The British progressive rock band Alan Parsons Project was active between 1975 and 1990. The Project consisted of Eric Woolfson and Alan Parsons surrounded by a varying number of session musicians.

Englishman Alan Parsons met Scotsman Eric Woolfson in the canteen of Abbey Road Studios in the summer of 1974.

Parsons had already acted as assistant engineer on The Beatles' 'Abbey Road' and 'Let It Be' and had recently engineered Pink Floyd's 'The Dark Side of the Moon'.

Woolfson, a songwriter and composer, was working as a session pianist.

'Pyramid' is the third album by The Alan Parsons Project and was originally released in 1978. The album contains numerous references to the Egyptian pyramids, hence the name.

    Indicud

Kid Cudi is ready to unveil his latest masterpiece, his epic third solo album: INDICUD. Over the course of the album, Cudi expands his hip hop galaxy through ethereal production, iridescent soundscapes, and airtight rhyming. Born in a nexus somewhere between Dr. Dre's 2001 and Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon, INDICUD is a trip all its own.

INDICUD reflects where Cudi (and hip hop) are headed next. His friends also play a big part in the story as it unfolds. King Chip cruises along on the hazy and hypnotic first single Just What I Am. It's classic Cudi with its smoky refrain, vibrant rapping, and unforgettable hook. Meanwhile, King Wizard proves to be an apropos title for the album's creator as some of his most groundbreaking work to date.

After all is said and done, Cudi's unstoppable, and his invincibility shines through every moment of Indicud. This artist is ready for revolution. Are you?

The Division Bell is Pink Floyd's fourteenth and final studio album. It was originally released in the UK by EMI Records on 28 March 1994, and the US by Columbia Records on 4 April.

The music was written mostly by David Gilmour and Richard Wright; lyrically, the album deals with themes of communication. Recording took place in several locations, including the band's Britannia Row Studios, and Gilmour's houseboat, Astoria. The production team included Pink Floyd stalwarts such as producer Bob Ezrin, engineer Andy Jackson and saxophonist Dick Parry. Gilmour's new wife, Polly Samson, co-wrote many of the album's lyrics, and Wright performed his first lead vocal on a Pink Floyd album since 1973's The Dark Side of the Moon.

    Nothing Gold

Nothing Gold borrows its title from the Robert Frost poem cited in The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton, which delves into the interplay that unfolds amongst young adults as they make that turbulent transition between youth and adulthood. As an observer, it might appear strange that it has taken 4 albums for Joakim to confront a theme that is so omnipresent in his work. But once again, Joakim is having fun misleading us as there is an underlying theme to Nothing Gold, each song is about someone I don't want to be or become or about extreme behaviors and deviant habits, with the exception of 'Find A Way' like an exploration of the human dark sides, a way to exorcise the demons by becoming one of them inside a song.
