DiscoveryOriginally released in 2001, Discovery is the second studio album by the French house duo Daft Punk consisting of Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter. Highlights include the house anthems One More Time and Digital Love as well as the Kanye West sampled Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger.
This album has a lot to do with our childhood and the memories of the state we were in at that stage of our lives. It's about our personal relationship to that time. It's less of a tribute to the music from 1975 to 1985 as an era, and more about focusing on the time when we were zero to ten years old. When you're a child you don't judge or analyze music. You just like it because you like it. You're not concerned with whether it's cool or not. Sometimes you might relate to just one thing in a song, such as the guitar sound. This album takes a playful, fun, and colorful look at music. It's about the idea of looking at something with an open mind and not asking too many questions. It's about the true, simple, and honest relationship you have with music when you're open to your own feelings. - Thomas Bangalter1. One More Time

Alive 2007 (On Sale)Timed to perfection, Daft Punk's second live album landed exactly ten years after the first, and provides a fitting complement to Alive 1997, easily the best live non-DJ electronica record ever released. While the original featured only a handful of tracks (but found them transformed and tweaked ad infinitum), Alive 2007 is packed with productions, most of them short and many of them getting a big crowd response (all recorded at one show in Paris in June of 2007). As on their first two classic full-lengths, Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo display excellent crowd control, pacing the record well, spacing the hits, and building the mood like the good crowd-pleasers they are. It has the feel of a greatest-hits-live concert, but energized by Daft Punk's talents at weaving songs in and out of each other. Even songs from the comparatively desultory Human After All sound rejuvenated in context, with Robot Rock getting the show off to a rousing start. It may not be better or stronger than the original Alive 1997, but it's definitely harder and faster.

Galactic Melt (Awaiting Repress)When talking about the music of COM TRUISE (one of the many pseudonyms of New Jersey designer/musician SETH HALEY), the nostalgia bit inevitably comes up, so let's get that out of the way. Yes, his songs tap classic sci-fi and proto-electro in a way that is distinctly early eighties in scope. But they're also remarkably weirdstutter-step proggy and intoxicatingly psychedelic, like those classic touchstones got drunk on lava lamp juice inside a pinball machine. After his well-received Cyanide Sisters EP, a grip of remixes for artists like Twin Shadow, Neon Indian, and, uh, Daft Punk, and a few floating MP3s, Truise's first LP, Galactic Melt, will finally enter brainspaces this summer. And what an appropriate title it bears. For a brief moment, opener Terminal subsumes you in warm, starry-eyed synth arpeggios, and then down the rabbit hole you gofrom the keyed up, skyscraping machine love of VHS Sex and Cathode Girls to opuses like Air Cal and Ether Drift that sound like Doogie Howser's idea of the perfect prom songmathy, forlorn, funky, and mighty in technical ambition. That they're all noticeably cinematic is, of course, by designHaley envisioned Galactic Melt as a sort of film scorefrom the mind, chronicling the lift and death of Com Truise, the world's first synthetic/robotic astronaut, from his creation and life on earth to his subsequent mission to a newly discovered galaxy called Wave 1. Eventually, Truise becomes one with his newfound cosmos, like Pinocchio becoming a real boy, but in the nether regions of imaginary space.1. Terminal

Alive 1997Alive 1997 reveals the French duo Daft Punk as one of the brightest entertainers in the occasionally stale world of album-based electronic dance. True, techno and house DJs can light up a crowd like few others, but the increasing artist slant of electronica often results in push-button programming and straight-from-DAT live performances, with most of the heavy lifting relegated to the lighting supervisor and effects computers. This brief glimpse at Daft Punk's live show circa 1997 (their major breakout year) is a tour de force of high-energy theatrics and flair. Aside from the pair of WDPK interludes, Alive 1997 includes only three tracks, but they're so radically different from their album versions that they're only barely familiar. The duo's biggest hit so far, Da Funk, is stretched out to 16 minutes with a start-and-stop improvisation section that brings the crowd to a peak, while Rollin' & Scratchin' never looks back after breaking right on through the red-line. An energizing document, Alive 1997 is one of the few live records to approximate the excitement of the original live show.

Scary Monsters & Nice Sprites EPPreviously the frontman for L.A. post-hardcore outfit From First to Last, Sonny Moore continues to develop his unforeseen dubstep tendencies with the second EP under his Skrillex alias, Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites. This surprising electro reinvention still throws a few bones to his previous metalhead crowd, with the virtually demonic basslines of Scatta, a blisteringly dirty 140-bpm anthem featuring the suitably breakneck-speed MC skills of U.K. grime collective Foreign Beggars, and the sinister lyrics of the Daft Punk-esque robotic rave of Kill EVERYBODY (I want to kill everybody in the world) just as unsettling as anything the two albums recorded with his former band had to offer.
But perhaps inspired by the move to Deadmau5's Mau5trap label, its nine tracks present a more chilled-out, melodic, and even playful side to the eclectic producer. With You, Friends (an ambient reworking of the closing track to his My Name Is Skrillex EP) is a slow-burning epic that displays his penchant for chopped-up vocal samples amidst some lilting piano chords, swirling proggy electro riffs, and hypnotic house beats; All I Ask of You echoes the lush techno of his new boss, with its warm layered synths, ethereal vocals (courtesy of Penny), and Euro-trance hooks; while even the heavier moments are interspersed with lighter touches, such as the ingenious sample of YouTube sensation speedstackinggirl (Yes! Oh My Gosh) on the towering beats and distorted bass of the title track and the Space Invaders-style bleeps, helium vocals, and stadium rock handclaps on the chaotic electro-clash of Rock n' Roll (Will Take You to the Mountain).
The three remixes from Noisia, Bare Noize, and Zedd are solid if unspectacular, with only the latter's chilled-out version of the title track providing anything wildly different from the originals. But the invention showcased on the first six bass-heavy anthems is more than enough to suggest that the U.S. has found someone who is capable of selling the dubstep sound back to its South London homeland.1. MichaelMichael is the debut full length from Les Sins, the dance project
of Toro Y Moi's Chaz Bundick. Inspired by cartoon and movie
soundtracks, the largely instrumental album explores classic
dance and pop music traditions. Catchy, repetitive vocal hooks
gel with beats and synth work influenced by house, techno,
French electronic, and '90s hip-hop production. Bundick made
the album over two years and recorded everything in his home
The funky Why features vocals from Berkeley, Calif. singer-songwriter Nate Salman asking "Why you wanna go and do
that?" "Bother" holds down a head-bobbing, body-moving
groove until a stunning hallelujah moment straight out of a sci-fi
version of Kanye West's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.
While there are no concrete themes associated with the album,
Chaz says he can imagine all of these songs playing in the
middle of the brilliantly lighted and busy Ginza district in Tokyo.
Touchstones like Timbaland, Mr. Oizo, and Daft Punk, and
contemporaries such as Motor City Drum Ensemble offered
inspiration, but most influential on the making of the album was
the sage advice of a design icon. "My favorite graphic designer,
P. Rand always said, 'Don't try to be original, just try to be
good,'" Bundick says. "When making this record that was/is my
mantra-it was just constantly looping in my mind. I believe
'good' is timeless and once you can recognize that you'll see the
world in its fullest.1. Talk About

Fire WithinCritically-acclaimed British singer/songwriter Birdy is pleased to announce details of her brand new album Fire Within.
Birdy commented - "It's been an incredible few years since I released my debut album back in 2011. I've been writing new songs and I'm so excited for people to hear them. They come straight from my heart."
In this new phase her fans will see Birdy come to the forefront as a songwriter in her own right, having written/co-written all of the 11 tracks on the new album. Over the past year, Birdy's been in the studio collaborating with some of the biggest names in the business including Ryan Tedder (Beyonce), Dan Wilson (co-wrote and produced 'Someone Like You' for Adele), Rich Costey (Muse, Arctic Monkeys, Sigur Ros) and Ben Lovett from Mumford & Sons, whom she's collaborated with in the past. She's also worked with some amazing musicians including Rage Against the Machine bass player Timmy C and Paul Jackson Jnr and Omar Hakim (Daft Punk's band on latest album Random Access Memories). The Album also sees Birdy expanding on her already amazing musical abilities by taking on the role of guitarist in both the recording sessions and live performances.LP 1

"Ghost Beach are the Venn diagram of their influences-Peter Gabriel, Talking Heads, The Police, and Daft Punk
-and then some, thanks to a shitload of synths, some nostalgic 80s sonics and even the occasional reggae groove.
The sound is unmistakably their own." - VICE's Noisey
Ghost Beach, the New York-based duo of Josh Ocean and Eric "Doc" Mendelsohn, bring together the two worlds of
electronic and live performance whose sound is self-described as "Tropical Grit Pop." "We like writing pop music. We
draw a lot from the 80's, including Peter Gabriel, The Police and Talking Heads," says Ocean. "Their music incorporated
synthesizers and drum machines, had tons of energy and it had a very eclectic sound. From a songwriting standpoint, that
is where we draw our inspiration and today we attempt to bridge the gap by using a similar sonic palette in combination
with modern recording technologies including Ableton." added Mendelsohn.
On their debut full-length album Blonde, Ghost Beach once again perfects a blend of retro and futuristic soaring synth-pop, none more so evident than in the searing single "Miracle." Blonde features a mix of newly recorded material and
a handful of tracks from the bands self-released Modern Tongues EP. All previously released songs will be remixed,
re-mastered and enhanced for the forthcoming release.
Ghost Beach is not purely electronic or purely a live band, but a realization of what lies in the middle. Josh plays the jilted
lover with vocal panache as Eric's soaring synths, guitars and forever young harmonies are plucked right out of Neverland.

Panda Bear Meets The Grim ReaperDomino is pleased to announce the release of Panda Bear Meets The Grim Reaper, the
fifth studio album from Animal Collective founding member and critically acclaimed solo artist Noah
Noah Lennox, a.k.a. Panda Bear, has had a far-from-quiet few years with the release of his fourth solo
record, 2011's Tomboy. Since the breakout success of 2007's universally-adored Person Pitch, each new
Panda Bear release is a highly anticipated event, and a high-profile Daft Punk collaboration later ("Doin'

Panda Bear Meets The Grim Reaper finds our hero leaving the airy minimalism of Tomboy and unpacking
his sonic toolbox again, rearranging the multitude of his disparate influences into the ever-morphing
concoction he refers to as "the soup." Old school hip-hop textures and production techniques meld with
the intuitive, cyclical melodies he has become known for a sound that is at once dense and playful.
The album signifies a pivotal point for an artist who has proven he can continue to evolve while
remaining at the top of his game. As Noah says, "It's sort of marking change - not necessarily an

Young PrayerNoah Lennox, a.k.a. Panda Bear, a.k.a. one-fourth of the founding members of Animal Collective, has had a far-from-quiet few years since the release of his fourth solo record, 2011's Tomboy. Since the breakout success of 2007's universally-adored Person Pitch, each new Panda Bear release is a highly anticipated event, and with a high-profile Daft Punk collaboration later, that's more the case than ever. But if the title of his fifth solo album as Panda Bear seems to portend certain doom, think again. Taking his inspiration from '70s dub duo albums like King Tubbys Meets Rockers Uptown and Augustus Pablo Meets Lee Perry & the Wailers Band, Panda Bear prefers to frame his latest work as less of a battle and more a collaboration. "I see it [as] more comicbooky, a little more lighthearted," he says. "Like Alien Vs. Predator." Young Prayer is the second full-length solo album by Panda Bear. It was recorded in Panda Bear's childhood home in 2002 by Deakin and further produced by the mysterious Animal Collective brothers known as Come Winter. BeingMozart's Sister - the solo project of Montreal's Caila Thompson-Hannant she started back in early 2011 - delights in making glittering, celebratory pop with an underlying strain of brittle, claustrophobic energy. By marrying the accessible with the decidedly off-kilter, she displays a similar vigor and charisma to female contemporaries Grimes and tUnE-yArDs, both of whom too learned their trade among the same fertile hometown scene as her.
Since attracting a ton of buzz for her entrancing live shows and for first EP Hello, Mozart's Sister (aka Caila Thompson-Hannant) has been head-down in her bedroom writing her debut album. For anyone who's been following her work - and for new listeners - Being is Mozart's Sister expressing macrocosmic ideas about life with panache and abundant hooks.
Inspired by Discovery-era Daft Punk, Post-era Bjork, and Betty Davis, Caila produced, recorded and wrote the album using a cheap sound card and Ableton software, approaching it with a do-it-all-by-my-self ideology.
Being is fundamentally a pop record. But if you're looking to catalog her music more than that, you're going to have a hard time; Caila describes Being as an intentionally fractured album. "It was far reaching. Things didn't always connect, but that was part of the whole idea," she says. Which is representative of the best music, and maybe the best of life: looking for order in chaos, not always finding it, and living with whatever happens next.1. Good Thing Bad Thing

RipcordRIPCORD features a virtual who's who of creative collaborators for an album that Urban says was his most exhilarating album to make, both musically and creatively.
This album's journey began back in January, 2015 and took me to a lot of unexplored people and places. added Urban. The end result was the recording and exploring of more songs then I've ever done before and carving that down to what I felt constituted RIPCORD.

Getting to work with people like this was unlike anything I've envisioned before, said Urban. It's the result of writing, reaching, imagining, and following the muse every step of the way.1. Gone Tomorrow (Here Today)

Boo BooAfter 7 years of touring and recording, I found myself becoming self conscious about my position in life as a"famous" person, or at least my version of whatever that is. My dreams had become my reality, yet I was somehow unable to accept this new environment. I couldn't help but fall into what might be described as an identity crisis. A feedback loop of fearful thoughts left me feeling confused. I felt as though I no longer knew what it was that I actually wanted and needed in and out of life, and at times I felt unable to even tell what was real.
During this time of personal turmoil, I turned to music as a form of therapy, and it helped me cope with the pain that I was feeling. I'd listen to the same ambient song over and over again, trying to insulate myself from reality.I fell in love with space again.
By the time I felt ready to begin working on a new record,I knew that this idea of space within music would be something that propelled my new work forward. The artists that were influencing what I was making included everyone from Travis Scott to Daft Punk, Frank Ocean to Oneohtrix Point Never, Kashif and Gigi Masin. I recognized that the common thread between these artists was their attention to a feeling of space, or lack thereof.I decided that I wanted to make a Pop record with these ideas in mind. That idea for a record is what eventually became Boo Boo.LP 1
