Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We? (Awaiting Repress)

Over 3.2 million albums sold. Out of print on vinyl for over 20 years. Reached #1 on UK charts and #18 on Billboard200. Mastered from the original tapes and pressed/plated at RTI. Includes hit single "Dreams". 180-gram LP, housed in a Stoughton old style tip-on jacket.

Their first full-length shows a band fully formed, with faint debts to the Sundays and the Smiths, but turning out more-than-tuneful pop behind the gorgeous lilt of Dolores O'Riordan. Dreams and Linger both seem to weave magic spells that remain even after the tracks pass, and there is a glorious freshness to the performances that's impossible to resist. It remains their most satisfying outing. -Chris Nickson

    No Need To Argue

"No Need To Argue" is the sophmore effort by Irish group The Cranberries that was originally released in 1994. Propelled by the hit song "Zombie" about the Irish conflict, the album was a worldwide smash and helped make the band one of the biggest of the 90s. With a more mature approach to songs and subject matter the album features many highlights including Ode To My Family, Yeats' Grave and Ridiculous Thoughts with a more lively rock sound than their much mellower debut album. 180 gram vinyl in gatefold cover with printed inner sleeve that includes the lyrics. Bury The Hatchet

Bury The Hatchet was the fourth studio album by The Cranberries and was originally released in 1999. After the hiatus following To The Faithful Departed the band bounced back with the very consistent Bury The Hachet featuring the sweeping melodies and soaring vocals they had become known for. Bury The Hatchet is filled with gorgeous songs such as Animal Instinct, Saving Grace, You and Me, and the more delicate Shattered. Khun Narin's Electric Phin Band

It all started over a year ago with the caption "MINDBLOWING PSYCHEDELIA FROM THAILAND"-the Youtube video that accompanied this headline on the Dangerous Minds Blog was exactly that. Here was a group of Thai
musicians being filmed parading through a remote village hundreds of miles
away from Bangkok playing some of the heaviest Psych known to mankind out
of a crazy homemade soundsystem. Who were these men and how on earth was
this not some unearthed archived footage from the '60s or '70s?! The Youtube
clip quickly made its rounds amongst music enthusiasts leaving many in the
Western hemisphere to question who this group of contemporary Thai villagers
(loosely named Khun Narin's Electric Phin Band) was.

Six months after that first encounter with Khun Narin's Electric Phin Band, a
Los Angeles music producer named Josh Marcy used Facebook and some unlikely interpreters at his local Thai restaurant to get in contact with the band and
inquire whether they'd be interested in having him travel to their town to record
their music for a global audience. At first the band was naturally suspicious, but
through subsequent interactions the group's leader and namesake Khun Narin
(also known simply as "Rin") warmed to the idea of having Marcy come visit.
And so began the journey of uncovering who these mysterious men from an
    obscure blog post actually were.

Khun Narin's Electric Phin Band's membership is always in rotation and spans
several generations, from high school kids to men well into their 60s. A standard
engagement has the band setting up at the hosting household during the morning rituals, playing several low-key sets from the comfort of plastic lawn chairs
occasionally working in a cover version of a foreign classic (The Cranberries
'Zombie' is a recent favorite) while the beer and whiskey flow freely. After a
mid-day banquet, they start up the generator and lead a parade through the community to the local temple, picking up more and more partiers along the way

    All Yours

Widowspeak has grown up in a lot of ways. The band's third album, All Yours, is one that could only come from Molly Hamilton and Robert Earl Thomas: a honed and elegant interweaving of dream-pop and slowcore rock and roll, easygoing melodies and dusty, snaking guitars. It's also their finest release to date: ten beautiful songs that are refreshingly straightforward yet built from the same well-chosen and deftly-used tools the band has always worked with. All Yours is ambitious without feeling labored-over, anchored in the strengths of Widowspeak's consistent influences. There are those familiar Morricone-come-Verlaine guitar passages, moody and country-tinged instrumentation, watery tremolo, velvety stacked vocals. You can hear Molly's affection for The Cranberries and The Sundays in the wavering melodies of 'Dead Love' or 'Girls', and Rob's adoration of George Harrison and Robbie Robertson in his brilliantly economical guitar playing. The result is an aesthetically diverse and profoundly nostalgic sound; indebted to past eras without feeling dated. After many line up changes, the band chose to work again with Jarvis Taveniere, who produced their self-titled debut in 2011. They also enlisted him and drummer Aaron Neveu (both of whom play in Woods) as the studio rhythm section. The presence of Taveniere and Neveu contributes a groove that wasnít there previously, and there's a few other new things: the swell of strings at critical moments, and for the first time, voices beyond Molly's own. We finally get to hear Rob sing in the earnestly laid-back 'Borrowed World.' Members of psych outfit Quilt contribute harmonies and keys throughout the record, most notably in 'My Baby's Gonna Carry On', and 'Cosmically Aligned'. Perhaps All Yours is so refreshing because it's a return to form. It's a record that feels as effortlessly unplanned as their debut, that serves to capture a moment rather than create one.

"The best album of the year hands down" (R.E.M.'s Michael Stipe, 1993)

Grant Lee Buffalo is an Americana/indie Rock band based in Los Angeles, consisting of Grant Lee Phillips (vocals and guitar), Paul Kimble (bass) and Joey Peters (drums). All three were previously members of another Los Angeles band, Shiva Burlesque. They toured with major bands, including R.E.M., Pearl Jam, the Smashing Pumpkins and The Cranberries.

Their 1993 debut Fuzzy was a condent and solidly crafted piece of work, with Phillips' marvelous voice, ne and evocative songs. Fuzzy is deep and mysterious stuff, but also very beautiful and crafted with imagination and care. It's no wonder Grant Lee Buffalo became critic's darlings shortly after this was released. Original vinyl copies are in short supply, making this rst reissue ever a very welcome one!

    Late Night Tales: Django Django

Django Django is the latest band invited to curate a prestigious Late Night Tales collection, set for release on 5th May. Like many of the best British groups, the Djangos met at art school, specifically Edinburgh College Of Art, before reconnecting in London. Django Django released their self-titled debut album on quirky French indie Because in early 2012 to some acclaim, winding up in many critics' end of year lists (Top Ten in the NME and Top 30 in Rolling Stone, among them).

Their oddball approach to music, which sounds like the rich harmonies of the Mamas & Papas beamed through a refracting prism pointing towards Bo Diddley, Chicago house and outer-space (it's no surprise to learn that Django producer/drummer Dave Maclean's brother John was in the Beta Band, who also shared the same cinemascopic view of the pop landscape).

"Rollicking sing-alongs, galloping into disco sunsets like whisky-addled and leather-saddled bandits on the stolen backs of prairie wild mustangs," is how Django Django describe themselves. Which is another way of saying they're pop adventurists, as at home with Mad Mike's Underground Resistance as they are the blues rumble of Canned Heat. A bit like this delightful mix, then, which darts about like a gurgle of guppies after two too many espressos.

Check out mixes that rock between two-step delights like Roy Davis Jr's 'Gabrielle' to Nilsson's lyrically winsome 'Coconut'. At one end of the Django spectrum there's James Last, the terminally unhip Teuton, whose 'Inner City Blues' shows you can never underestimate the Germans, while at the far reaches of the mix, they manage to sneak in Ramadanman ('Bass Drums') and Hudson Mohawke and Lunice collaboration TNGHT's 'Bugg'n'. You can hear the echoes of influences in some of the selections, like The Beach Boys whose peerless 'Surf's Up' makes a welcome appearance halfway through, while Seals & Crofts' "Sweet Green Fields" show what sun-drenched pop can sound like when it's done well. And because it's Late Night Tales there's a sparkling cover version of 'Porpoise Song', the theme from The Monkees daffily brilliant 'Head', an admirably lysergic termination to this waltz through pop's nooks and cranberries. "You should never be afraid to make a fool of yourself for art," Dave Maclean once said. Let's raise a dram to Scotland's favourite fools on the hill.

"We wanted to produce a mix that represented the band. It's what we're all into, so everyone put forward suggestions. It's what we are as a band; and we're kids that have grown up with an obsession about our mum and dad's record collections, like '50s and 60s stuff and then got into hip hop and dance music as we grew up. At the heart of it all is our parents' collections, with our tastes mixed in. Our Late Night Tales pays homage to that."
