Cover Me (Remixes) (Pre-Order)Dave Gahan wrote the song together with Peter Gordeno and Christian Eigner. Depeche Mode have said in interviews (like during the 2016 press conference) that producer James Ford taught himself to play Martin's pedal steel guitar within one day while in the studio, and thus this guitar was used in some songs including 'Cover Me'.
Dave talked about this song extensively to Phil Marriott:
I wanted ['Cover Me'] to be very cinematic, and I had this sort of idea of us finally destroying this beautiful planet that we live on. Hence the northern lights: it's just one in many millions of beautiful things... the oceans, just things that we take for granted. And the Northern lights was just a metaphor that I wanted to use, because I did once experience actually being there while that was happening, way up north in Scandinavia. Yeah [it's quite an emotional experience], and it's also out of the world somehow, quite spiritual, and moving, moving to the point of tears, the beauty of something happening in our universe. And so I had this idea at that time, a little lyrical idea, not really a melody. But anyway, I came back to that, and that became that song. And I also saw the song in two halves, where the second half was where we are finally leaving or something. This person or whoever it is, who I live vicariously through, leaves the planet, only to find another planet that is exactly the same as ours, and he has this horrible feeling of like, Oh wow, it's not the planet, it's me, I am doing this. I'm destroying this beautiful world that I live in. And that can be just an emotional relationship that you have with another person, or trying to be having a relationship with another person that you can't quite get to because you just can't. And that, for me, is quite often where I find myself with music and songs: I am quite often this other person. Of course it's me, but I can live vicariously through this performer, this guy that I've created, which is me, but a character. And throughout songs and films and books and stuff like that, that's where I get lost. [...] With 'Cover Me', the song that was coming to mind a lot, the feeling of the song that I wanted to get on this, and it's a totally different kind of song, but the feeling that I wanted to get was like Bowie's song 'Life On Mars', where the second half of the song seems to go to another place, or 'Space Odyssey', that kind of feeling. It opens up for you, the listener, to just be able to go off in their own dreams and ideas.LP 1

CoveredTen years ago, a 22 year old songwriter entered a recording studio with producer Tucker Martine (My
Morning Jacket, Neko Case, Beth Orton) to make a record.
Poised with one of the greatest talents for carrying Appalachian music into new places, Sarah Siskind
penned a record in which every moment, every stitch thread perfectly. Recorded to 2-inch analog tape, Covered is a masterful record, in which American music and guitar icon, and one of Sarah's musical heroes, Bill Frisell plays a key role.
But amid plans for a national release, sinus illness struck and multiple surgeries followed, and Covered was instead released independently on a much smaller scale than originally planned. With little tour and press support, the album never earned its place in the hearts it could have...
A few years later, by chance, I came across a copy of Covered while digging into Frisell's catalog, for I also have a deep admiration for the music icon and couldn't get enough of his work. Looking back, I had no idea how much this album would shake me down; it quickly earned its place in my heart. I listened so much from then on that I wore out several copies, all the while pondering how such an amazing record could go largely unnoticed by the masses.
Four years passed, Sarah fully recovered from her sinus issues and set her sights high once again. She
went on to record her much lauded boutique double EP Studio.Living Room and followed it with widely-acclaimed Say it Louder, which earned her 2009 Nashville Music Awards' "Americana Album
of the Year." As she gained more and more attention, writing songs for Alison Krauss and the like, I listened along but still continued to wear out Covered, bewildered as to why it still wasn't grabbing more people with its poise.
Finally, yet still overdue, we at Chigliak give you Covered, reissued and released for the first time on
vinyl. Listen and let it shake you down.

Cover Your Tracks (Awaiting Repress)BURY YOUR DEAD have been making a name for themselves in the New England hardcore music
scene since their 2001 birth. Having spawned from such ground-breaking acts as BLOOD HAS BEEN
SHED, AS THE SUN SETS, PIECEMEAL and GROUNDZERO, the members come from an extensive background of all genres of music.
BURY YOUR DEAD originally set out to do the band for fun, but fans quickly took notice after they solidified their line-up which includes former BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME drummer, Mark Castillo. BURY YOUR DEAD decided to keep their material simple, energetic, sweet and remarkably heavy.
After playing many shows and building a solid fan base on the East Coast, Eulogy/Alveran Recordings made BURY YOUR DEAD an offer they couldn't pass up.
In Summer 2002, they went out on their first tour and shared the stage with GLASSJAW, POISON THE WELL, ANDREW W.K. and BANE. After constant touring, BURY YOUR DEAD hit the studio to record their Eulogy Records debut, a 5-song CD EP, You Had Me At Hello.
VICTORY RECORDS quickly took notice and announced their signing in April 2004.
Their VICTORY RECORDS debut, Cover Your Tracks, is set to take the metal and hardcore worlds by storm while the band invades the streets all year long.1. Maverick

Pick Me UpTRUTH & SALVAGE CO.'s second album, PICK ME UP (Megaforce/Sony RED), is a work that powerfully builds on their stirring blend of rock and Americana introduced on their acclaimed 2010 self-titled debut album. Distinguished by their four lead vocalists and five songwriters, plus soaring four-part harmonies and a strong guitar-keyboard meld, the band co-produced the album this time around with Jon Ashley, while longtime band cohort Bill Reynolds (Band of Horses) handled the mix. It is a joyous tour de force recorded at Echo Mountain studio in Asheville, NC that features 12 original tracks and a cover of Joe South's Grammy-winning 1968 hit "Games People Play." Opening with the plaintive "The Bad Times," the album shifts into high gear with "Silver Lining" and keeps the highlights coming with such songs as "Appalachian Hilltop," "Bird On The Wing," "I'm Not Your Boyfriend," the title track and the rollicking "So Sad."
True to its title PICK ME UP, this is an album that soars. Tim Jones says, "We liked the triple meaning of 'pick me up,' how you could not only be asking someone for a ride, or literally encouraging someone to pick up the album, but also how it's a metaphorical lift, which we were feeling we needed throughout the process." Walker Young adds, "Lyrically we wanted that song to have an inspiring message, it's talking about hope and perseverance in the face of loneliness and just the challenges of everyday life. The sonic mix we ended up getting matches the vibe perfectly, I think. It's definitely a feel-good album we were going for joyous revelry, music that would inspire the heart and mind."
Scott Kinnebrew says the time between their first and second albums helped them grow: "We have had, really, four years since recording our first record and we have been playing our asses off. So we are better players." Adam Grace elaborates: "For this record, we just wanted to record what we do live onstage every night. We kept things loose, had a bunch of fun, and just played and sung our hearts out. The result is a record that shows the real chemistry we share. You can hear it oozing from every song."1. Please Please Me
Ranked 39/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
Sourced From the Original Master Tapes!
Cut at Abbey Road Studios
Pressed on 180 gram vinyl
Once Please Please Me rocketed to number one, The Beatles rushed to deliver a debut album, bashing out Please Please Me in a day. Decades after its release, the album still sounds fresh, precisely because of its intense origins.
Please Please Me hit the top of the UK album charts in May 1963 and remained there for thirty weeks before being replaced by With The Beatles. This was surprising because the UK album charts at the time tended to be dominated by film soundtracks and easy listening vocalists.
In 2012, Please Please Me was voted 39th on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. It was ranked first among The Beatles' early albums, and sixth of all of The Beatles' albums, with Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, Revolver, Rubber Soul, The Beatles (The White Album) and Abbey Road ranked higher.
Rolling Stone also placed two songs from the album on its list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time: No. 139, I Saw Her Standing There, and No. 184, Please Please Me. According to Stephen Thomas Erlewine of Allmusic, Decades after its release, the album still sounds fresh, the covers are impressive and the originals astonishing.
A team consisting of some of the best producers and engineers in the recording industry were brought together and would spend 4 long years mixing and mastering with some of the most state of the art recording equipment. Treating these records much like a science experiment, engineers ran extensive tests before copying the analog master tapes over into a digital format using 24-bit/192 kHz resolution, and carefully removing clicks, vocal pops and poor edits. Never altering the original songs themselves, just polishing them up a bit.1. I Saw Her Standing There

REDD-TRA-0597xHolly Golightly And The Brokeoffs
Sunday Run Me Over (Awaiting Repress)Sunday Run Me Over is the second album released in 2012 by Holly Golightly & the Brokeoffs, following early spring's Long Distance, a collection of her older garage rock material re-recorded in a distinctly more Americana/honky tonk style. Long the queen of the garage, Holly Golightly's work with her strange partner Lawyer Dave acting as the entirety of the Brokeoffs has seen the punk energy that brimmed over in scrappy solo albums (or even more so with work in the early femme-stomp of Thee Headcoatees) shift somewhat into a country-tinged sound, possibly a product of her new environment, as Ms. Golightly left her London home for life on the farm in rural Georgia with Lawyer Dave sometime in the late 2000s. The photo of ducks, dogs, and chickens in the artists' backyard that graces the inside cover of Sunday Run Me Over is a far cry from the gritty dive-bar settings imaginable as the backdrop for Golightly's early solo material, and likewise the music is removed from that early garage grit. The fifth album from the duo finds them working in the country-blues mode they've been cultivating for a while, but with more energy and manic gusto than before. Starting off with the down-home holler of Goddamn Holy Roll, overdriven slide guitars and tambourines right out of Sunday morning church service explode out of the speakers, with Holly and Dave in a wild-eyed duet for the entire duration of this spirited stomper. Tones of deep South religion, retribution, and redemption feel buried throughout the record, with humid originals like the rocking Tank and the goofy saloon singalong of One for the Road butting up against traditional country arrangements of old-timey hits like I Forgot More and the Stonesy Hard to Be Humble. The album's down-on-the-farm or confessin'-on-the-pulpit vibes have enough rock & roll in them to keep Sunday Run Me Over in the same boozy, reckless mode of rock that Golightly is famous for, just reconfigured a little bit. The bitterness and spite that tempered the good times rolling on albums like Truly She Is None Other and Serial Girlfriend are still alive and well on tracks like Goodnight, even if sung with a bit more of a drawl than a British accent. All told, the album is a riveting romp of country-fried garage rock recorded on an actual farm. Fans of Golightly's earliest work might miss the garage days, but listening closely will reveal that the spirit of those days is alive and very much kicking.

What Cha' Gonna Do For MeChaka Khan, born Yvette Marie Stevens, is an American singer-songwriter whose career has spanned four decades, beginning in the 1970s as the frontwoman and focal point of the funk band Rufus. Often dubbed the "Queen of Funk", Khan has won ten Grammys and has sold an estimated 70 million records worldwide.
What Cha' Gonna Do for Me (1980) is arguably the best effort of the partnership with Arif Mardin. Slowly but surely the two began to craft an even more successful and innovative sound. The album peaked at #3 in the R&B Albums Chart of 1981.
The cover of "We Can Work It Out" gets a brash and funky Stevie Wonder -style arrangement, with Gregory Phillanganes doing great synth work. The best song here, "I Know You, I Live You", displays brilliant bass and drum.1. We Can Work It Out
