    Cork Record Mat

Kick out the jams with our new cork record mat. Instruments pop to life. Crackle is reduced. Vocals are clearer and more dramatic. The background is quieter, soundstage wider and deeper. How does this thing work? The secret is in the 12 isolation discs surrounding the outside of the mat and the single larger disc for the center label. The discs lift and support the record while floating it above and decoupling it from the platter. This lowers record vibration and reduces acoustic feedback. Stylus tracking is improved and record wear reduced. The mat eliminates the grunge and leaves behind a rich, clear, dynamic sound.

Cork is the perfect material. It sucks up unwanted vibrations and releases the life and energy of the music. It's naturally non-static and non-adhesive making the mat perfectly safe for use on all platters and it won't harm your records. Cork grips the record better than felt so there's less record slippage and fewer timing errors. The mat is thin, lightweight, and generally doesn't require a VTA adjustment. Listen for yourself, the improvement is easy to hear.

From Under The Cork Tree (Black Clouds & Underdogs Edition)

From Under the Cork Tree is the second studio album by American rock band Fall Out Boy. It was originally released on May 3, 2005, through Island Records as the band's major label debut. The music was composed by lead vocalist and guitarist Patrick Stump, with all lyrics penned by bassist Pete Wentz, continuing the band's songwriting approach they took for some songs on their prior 2003 effort Take This to Your Grave. Neal Avron handled production duties. Commenting on the record's lyrical themes, Wentz said the lyrics were about the anxiety and depression that goes along with looking at your own life. In support of their release, the group headlined tours worldwide and played at various music festivals. For their Black Clouds and Underdogs tour, the album was re-released as From Under the Cork Tree (Limited Black Clouds and Underdogs Edition), featuring new songs and remixes.

    Stand!

Ranked 118/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

Stand!, the fourth album from Sly & the Family Stone, could have almost pulled double-duty as a greatest hits package for the band. Laced with sure-fire winners, this 1969 LP put Sly and Co. firmly on the road to super-stardom. Four of the album's seven songs, including the Hall of Fame tracks Everyday People and I Want To Take You Higher, shot straight into the national charts. This visionary work also introduced far-sighted FM radio stations to the goosebump-inducing sounds of Don't Call Me Nigger, Whitey, a song that accurately portrayed racial tensions in America in a manner that no one could have seen coming. On a musical level, the band was now tight as a cork in a bottle of vintage wine.

    Man & Myth

Man And Myth, Roy's first studio album in 13 years, isn't just proof
that one of the leading, most erudite and passionate orators of the
British folk rock renaissance hasn't lost an iota of his gifts, but also
timely evidence for anyone who has wondered why so many musical
luminaries have been lining up to praise this enigmatic and legendary singer-songwriter.

In 2011, Harper performed a special show at the Royal Festival Hall
in celebration of his 70th birthday, playing with guests including
Joanna Newsom, Jonathan Wilson and Jimmy Page of Led
Zeppelin-who once penned a tribute called Hats Off To (Roy)
Harper. David Gilmour not only played on record and stage for
Harper, but Pink Floyd engaged him to sing Have A Cigar on the
band's landmark album Wish You Were Here. Fellow collaborator
Kate Bush has called Harper one of the greatest English songwriters while the late John Peel demanded, on his death, that cricket
obsessive Harper's When An Old Cricketer Leaves The Crease be
played at his funeral. Johnny Marr, meanwhile, has stated that
Harper's 1971 opus Stormcock was intense and beautiful and
    clever.

Four of the seven tracks that constitute Man And Myth were
recorded with Jonathan Wilson at his studio in Laurel Canyon.
Wilson had been assembling a Harper tribute album and the two
struck up a friendship after meeting backstage at London's Borderline in 2012. Heaven Is Here and The Exile, the album's epic
closing tracks, and January Man were subsequently recorded
    back in County Cork.

Man And Myth is incontrovertible proof to everyone of Roy Harper's
persisting brilliance, with many hallmarks of what has singled him
out since his first album 47 heady years ago.

A Historic Record - Recorded Just Four Years Removed From The Dawn Of The Analog Tape Era!

Remastered By Ryan Smith At Sterling Sound From The Original Analog Tapes

Recorded On An Ampex 200, Using 3M-111 Magnetic Tape Running At 15 Inches Per Second

Gatefold Old-School Tip-on On Jacket By Stoughton Printing Plated And Pressed At Quality Record Pressings!

Named A 2015 Record To Die For By Stereophile Magazine.

Remastered by Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound from the original analog tapes, the record was plated and pressed at Quality Record Pressings. The depth and space when those rich chromatic harmonies create a wide and well-defined soundscape, the timbre of the orchestra as a whole as well as individual instruments, and the thick, wooden sound of Wendell Marshall's bass are among the aural pleasures provided when you drop a needle on this platter; expect goose bumps. - Music = 5/5; Sonics = 4.5/5 - Jeff Wilson, The Absolute Sound, May-June 2015.

I chose the CD reissue of this album as one of my R2D4s for 2012, but now from Chad Kassem's Analogue Productions comes this QRP LP, and it's an occasion for popping corks. Released in 1950, this was Ellington's first LP, and he used the new medium to stretch out four of his biggest hits. The arrangements are jaw-droppingly gorgeous and the sound just slightly less so. Recorded by Fred Plaut, who later miked Kind of Blue and other Columbia classics, it has the dynamics, depth, and in-your-face tonal realism of a modern (mono) audiophile thumper. Among the best jazz albums ever. - Fred Kaplan, for Stereophile - Records To Die For - February 2015.

This new re-issue slays my vintage copy in every way. Every dimension of the recording was much better...dynamics, harmonics, frequency response, detail, jump...all just leaped out at me! The recording sounded like it had been made that morning...absolutely fresh-sounding. No veiling. No roll-off. In fact, it's so good that it doesn't matter that this is a mono recording! Listen to it on a great turntable...you'll hear mono that fools you into thinking that it's not mono. Just wait until you hear Yvonne Lanauze sing, Mood Indigo amigos, after a long instrumental build-up...she'll take you there! ... The pressing itself was impeccable: flat, and free of noise, tics and pops...a genuine masterpiece of the pressing-plant arts. The Hyperion OCL, the finest cartridge that I've ever heard, revealed how superbly these grooves were carved! Commendable, reference-grade analog...very, very close to master tape sound. Very damned close! Kissing cousins close! Hell, maybe even closer than that. In fact, I now consider the Analogue Productions re-issue of Masterpieces by Ellington to be one of the very finest Jazz records ever released. (Sorry Miles! Move over, Kind of Blue!). - David W. Robinson, editor-in-chief, Positive Feedback Online.

Most highly recommended (the record is now on the QRP presses). It's one of my 'Records to Die For' in the February 2015 Stereophile. A true classic both musically and sonically and a historical work of art you can now own. - Music = 11/11; Sound = 11/11 - Michael Fremer, AnalogPlanet.com.
