    Songbook (Awaiting Repress)

Chris Cornell has been a major force and contributor in the rock music world for many years. As founding member of the iconic Soundgarden, his collaborative efforts and performances with his Seattle based band helped make their albums become truly successful events at both radio and retail, going on to sell millions of albums worldwide.

Always the musical pioneer, Chris Cornell continued to break new ground with his very well received side projects like Temple Of The Dog featuring Pearl Jam and the late Andrew Wood of Mother Love Bone, and continued his superstar legacy even further with Audioslave featuring members of Rage Against The Machine.

Culminating his years of a highly revered career, Chris embarked on a very successful sold-out solo 2011 spring tour, appropriately titled Songbook. This Grammy-award winning singer/songwriter taped a number of these solo and acoustic performances, which now are featured on his exciting new deluxe 2 LP set SONGBOOK.

In collaboration with Universal Music Enterprises, Friday Music is pleased to announce the exclusive limited edition 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl edition of Chris Cornells latest album SONGBOOK.

Filled with 16 live tracks from various venues during the spring Songbook tour, Chris Cornell revisits some of his finest repertoire with stunning versions of Soundgarden classics Black Hole Sun and Fell On Black Days, plus imperative tracks from his Audioslave days with Wide Awake and Temple Of The Dogs Call Me A Dog.

Chris also offers up some new takes on two familiar covers including Led Zeppelins Thank You and John Lennons Imagine, as well as several solo album tunes including one of his latest hits The Keeper.

To further your Songbook experience, this impeccable limited edition 180 Gram Audiophile
2 LP set also includes a brilliant gatefold cover which truly enhances the music contained inside. Chris Cornell... Songbook... on 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl... from your friends at Friday Music. Peace.

    Higher Truth

Multi-Grammy Award winning, Golden Globe nominated and acclaimed singer songwriter Chris Cornell has just
released a new solo studio album, 'Higher Truth.' Produced by Brendan O'Brien (Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam,
Neil Young) the album will now be available on 180-gram vinyl on 2 LPs, housed in a gatefold jacket with foil stamping. The single, 'Higher Truth' has been the most added song at Modern Rock radio 3 weeks in a row!

Chris Cornell possess an easy, quiet confidence throughout this handsome, burnished record, an album that occasionally recalls the breaking twilight of Euphoria Mourning but feels warmer and looser than that 1999 solo debut. O'Brien favors subtle shading over bombast, so even when the tracks are built up with pianos, strings, harmonies, and fuzz guitars, it feels intimate, almost acoustic. This illusion persists because there are a fair share of spare, delicate solo numbers here, interwoven among those bolder but still quiet pop tunes. While Higher Truth never seems as self-consciously confessional as Euphoria Mourning, this mellow simplicity is an attribute: a relaxed Cornell creates a comforting mood piece that's enveloping in its warmth.

    Euphoria Mourning

Euphoria Morning is the first solo studio album released by American musician Chris Cornell. Euphoria Morning sold over 75,000 copies in its first week of release and eventually sold 343,000 copies in the U.S. alone. While a large success critically, it did not sell nearly as well as Cornell's albums with Soundgarden. It is Cornell's only album between the split of Soundgarden until he joined members of Rage Against the Machine in forming Audioslave.

A Newly Expanded And Remastered Edition In Celebration Of The Film's 25th Anniversary

2xLP Vinyl Package Containing Bonus CD Of Rarities And Unreleased Tracks

Newly Released Bonus CD Features Previously Unreleased Recordings By Chris Cornell, Mike Mccready, Mudhoney, And Paul Westerberg In Addition To Rarities Such As Cornell's 1992 EP Poncier

Includes Liner Notes And A Track-By-Track Description Of The Album's Music Written Especially For This Collection By Cameron Crowe, The Screenwriter And Director Of "Singles"

Epic Soundtrax and Legacy Recordings, the catalog division of Sony Music Entertainment, will celebrate the 25th anniversary of Cameron Crowe's groundbreaking romantic comedy, "Singles," with the release of a newly expanded and remastered edition of the Singles: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack album.

The 2xLP edition features the album's original 13 tracks newly mastered and freshly pressed across four sides of collectible 12 vinyl. The bonus CD of rarities and unreleased tracks is included as a special insert in the 2xLP 12 vinyl package.

The newly released bonus CD features previously unreleased recordings by Chris Cornell, Mike McCready, Mudhoney, and Paul Westerberg in addition to rarities such as Cornell's 1992 EP Poncier (debuting an early rendition of "Spoonman") and tracks from the film not included on the best-selling soundtrack album first released on June 30, 1992. The success of "Singles" helped establish a then-emerging new generation of rock artists-including 2017 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Inductees Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains and Soundgarden-as musical forces to be reckoned with.

The expanded edition of the "Singles" soundtrack includes, for the first time on CD, "Touch Me I'm Dick," the signature track from "Singles" performed by Citizen Dick (a fictional band created for the film featuring frontman Matt Dillon backed by Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder, Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament).

The new Epic Soundtrax/Legacy Recordings edition of the Singles: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack includes liner notes-and a track-by-track description of the album's music-written for especially for this collection by Cameron Crowe, the screenwriter and director of "Singles." The newly expanded edition of the film's soundtrack is produced by Danny Bramson and Cameron Crowe and mastered by Mike Piacentini at Battery Studios, New York.

Set in Seattle at the beginning of the 1990s, Crowe's film featured music by relatively obscure (at that time) bands like Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains and Soundgarden, providing an introduction to an emerging grunge rock music scene for a welcoming mainstream audience. The film became a cult classic while the soundtrack achieved RIAA double platinum status in the US.

A romantic comedy capturing the zeitgeist of an era, "Singles" helped define the look, sound, attitude and style of Generation X with a fresh-faced ensemble cast featuring Bridget Fonda, Campbell Scott, Kyra Sedgwick, Matt Dillon, Bill Pullman, Sheila Kelly, Jim True-Frost, James LeGros, Ally Walker, Jeremy Piven, Eric Stoltz, Tim Burton and more.

Crowe's groundbreaking film chronicling the lives of Seattle's twentysomethings touched a nerve in the culture while the movie's best-selling soundtrack-with tracks from new artists and classic rockers-provided a critical overview of the roots of grunge and the essential contributions of Seattle rock. Alongside new songs like Alice In Chains' "Would?" and Pearl Jam's "Breath" and "State of Love and Trust" stood the Jimi Hendrix Experience's "May This Be Love" and a breathtaking cover of Led Zeppelin's "The Battle of Evermore" performed by The Lovemongers (a musical side project created by Heart's Ann Wilson and Nancy Wilson).

The first edition of the Singles: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack was originally released on June 30, 1992 and became a chart-topping best-seller three months prior to the theatrical release of the film. The soundtrack included music from key bands from the Seattle music scene-including Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden-while Paul Westerberg, in his first solo recordings outside The Replacements-contributed two songs and provided the score for the film. Smashing Pumpkins were also featured on the soundtrack with the song "Drown."

"The album itself was always designed to be sort of an anti-soundtrack, more like a souvenir and a simple mix-tape of some of Seattle's finest," said Cameron Crowe. "It really is and was a tribute to those hard-working bands that welcomed me to their city with open arms, and the music so many still love so much. Anyway, here we are now revisiting 'Singles,' the film, as well as the soundtrack you hold in your hands, expanded with a special tip of the hat to the fans of the original release. Included are unreleased and raw elements that helped shape the experience of making the movie back in 1991. Hope you enjoy the trip back as much as I did - Viva Seattle!"

25 years ago, the film "Singles" and its soundtrack worked together to bring the underground Seattle music scene to the forefront of mainstream consciousness. The album was among the first top-selling movie soundtracks of the 1990s to showcase new material from emerging contemporary bands. The expanded edition of Singles: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack is cause to celebrate anew the radical rock sounds that radiated out of the American Northwest a quarter century ago and changed pop music forever.

    Down On The Upside

Remastered Reissue On 180 Gram Vinyl

After the huge commercial breakthrough of Superunknown-where Soundgarden expanded its attack to include pop hooks, psychedelic riffage, and production values-the foursome decided to work harder at rocking harder.

From the opening chords of Pretty Noose, the group brings out the brawny guitars and slightly leavens them with sweet harmonies. With Rhinosaur, Kim Thayil churns out more guitar-hero riffs for young America to master. Zero Chance turns to the quiet side as Chris Cornell ruminates in a depressive mood: Born without a friend/And bound to die alone. Ty Cobb floors the acceleration with no brakes. Robin Trower's Bridge of Sighs is evoked within Tighten & Tighter, while No Attention ventures toward Rocks-era Aerosmith, an occasional Soundgarden touchstone.

The album's obvious centerpiece, however, is Blow Up the Outside World, with its mix of acoustic and electric guitars; it builds toward a cathartic chorus that rings true of everything Soundgarden could ever be.

Audioslave may be one the rare cases of remnants of 2 great bands coming together and creating an even greater band. Consisting of three quarters of Rage Against The Machine plus former Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell, Audioslave came onto the music scene with a mix of 70's Zeppelin & Sabbath warped into the year 2000 and beyond. Having Chris Cornell as their leadsinger was producer Rick Rubin's idea and the band penned no less than 21 songs in a period of 19 days, jamming and rehearsing.

Their live debut was a David Letterman gig on the rooftop of the Ed Sullivan Theatre in New York, kicking off a successful world tour. Debut single 'Cochise' was a worldwide smash and the 2nd single 'Like a Stone' even topped that (certified Gold by the RIAA)! The album was certified Gold in the USA within a month after its release. 2 Audioslave albums followed, before the members parted ways to join their former bands.

We proudly present the album that left a deep and lasting impact on the music scene album as a double vinyl LP, in a gatefold sleeve and pressed on 180 grams audiophile vinyl.

    Screaming Life/Fopp

From the depths of the Sub Pop archives comes a reissue of
Soundgarden's thunderous opening salvo, Screaming Life, plus bonus
tracks from the Fopp EP and Sub Pop 200 compilation. This reissue
marks the first time these tracks will be available digitally, and their first
appearance on vinyl since the original, late-80s pressings (notwithstanding
a long-gone, late-'90s repress of Screaming Life). All tracks have been
remastered by Seattle studio wizard and producer of the original Screaming
Life and Sub Pop 200 sessions, Jack Endino, who had this to say about
    it:

"Ah, Screaming Life, Soundgarden's debut, and one of the first real
records I made for anyone outside my own band. I already knew
Soundgarden pretty well, since they and Skin Yard had shared the stage
many times in Seattle's tiny club scene circa 1985-1986. Soon after
opening Reciprocal Recording in July 1986, there I was with Soundgarden,
trying to make the most of our eight tracks. Somehow, we found room
for all of Matt Cameron's 'bonus tubs,' Hiro's primordial Fender bass,
and a whopping four tracks to share between Kim Thayil's mad guitar
psychedelia and Chris Cornell's still-expanding voice. 'Nothing To Say'
was the song that made us all look at each other and go, 'uh, holy crap,
    how did we do this?'

Stuff started happening. A&M came calling. SST agreed to put out
their next record. But Soundgarden was not finished with Sub Pop. They
contributed 'Sub Pop Rock City,' about Seattle's then-rising 'grunge'
scene, to the Sub Pop 200 comp; and they threw everyone a curveball
with Steve Fisk-produced Ohio Players and Green River covers on the
    Fopp EP.

The glorious vistas of a major label future awaited them. To quote Kim
from an old interview, 'It was karma, it was dogma, it was dog breath.'"

    Ultramega OK

This remixed and expanded reissue of Soundgarden's Ultramega OK is a long-planned "correction" of the legendary band's Grammy®-nominated debut full-length. The album was originally recorded and released in 1988 on SST Records. While the band enjoyed working with the original producer, Drew Canulette, they soon realized they weren't quite happy with the final mix. Thus, shortly after the album's release, the band decided to remix the album for subsequent pressings. However, success intervened: the band rapidly scored a deal with A&M and began work on their major-label debut, Louder Than Love, and the Ultramega OK remix project fell by the wayside as Soundgarden climbed their way to (ultra)mega-stardom.

In 2016, after worldwide success, a breakup, a reunion, and many albums and tours, the band finally acquired the original multi-track tapes to Ultramega OK and carved out time to dig into the remix. They handed the tapes over to longtime friend and engineer Jack Endino (Nirvana, Mudhoney, Screaming Trees, Skin Yard), who worked with the band to create a fresh mix of the album that, for the band, ties up this persistent loose end and remedies the sound of their debut album.

While they were at it, the band dug out six early versions of tracks that wound up on Ultramega OK. The songs were recorded in 1987 on 8-track tape by Jack Endino and Chris Hanzsek at Reciprocal Recording in Seattle, and mixed by Jack Endino in 2016. These versions feature the band in raw, powerful form -sonically closer to the band's Endino-recorded debut EP Screaming Life - and provide a fascinating window into the development of songs that eventually became staples of the band's set. The six songs comprise what the band refers to as Ultramega EP, and they are included in this reissue.

Hailed as grunge innovators, Soundgarden redefined rock music for a generation. In the '80s, the band - singer/guitarist Chris Cornell, guitarist Kim Thayil, bassist Hiro Yamamoto, and drummer Matt Cameron - combined a punk ethos, brutal metal soundscapes, and Cornell's ravenous roar to capture the attention of the masses. Jagged and ferocious, their music was deeply at odds with the synth-pop and hair metal which dominated the 80's airwaves. Early indie releases, including seminal Screaming Life and Ultramega OK, quickly led to a dedicated indie following as the band toured on both sides of the Atlantic. Subsequent albums, including Badmotorfinger, Superunknown, and Down on the Upside, achieved multi-platinum sales and launched the band to international fame.

    Jekyll + Hyde

Reached #1 On The US Billboard 200 And US Billboard Top Country Albums

Jekyll + Hyde Marked The Band's Third Consecutive #1 Debut On The Billboard 200 Chart

Three-time GRAMMY winners and multi-platinum artists Zac Brown Band have become one of music's most heralded acts. Their latest album JEKYLL + HYDE marked the band's third consecutive #1 debut on the Billboard 200 chart. Together with their three platinum-selling albums, Uncaged, You Get What You Give, and The Foundation, and their 2013 project The Grohl Sessions Vol. 1, the band has sold over seven million albums to date. On the radio, the band has earned a historic series of thirteen #1 hit radio singles and became only the second artist to top both the country and active rock formats. Zac Brown Band are currently out on their largest North American Stadium Tour to date which includes two history making performances - a first ever three-night run at Fenway Park, and the first ever concert at Coors Field. Additional stadiums include Wrigley Park, Nationals Park, Citi Field, Comerica Park and Citizen's Bank Park.

Describing the album's direction, Zac told Rolling Stone earlier this year that it will have things that people will expect and things that they don't. Homegrown the band's highest chart debut, has earned massive fan support and early praise for its rock feel (Country Weekly) and intricately arranged vocal harmonies (Billboard); Dress Blues, written by Jason Isbell, is a somber and stirring tribute to members of the military who have been killed in service; and Heavy Is the Head features Chris Cornell, the multi Grammy winning singer/songwriter and legendary front man for pioneering rock bands Soundgarden, Audioslave and Temple of the Dog. The album also features a collaboration with Sara Bareilles.

appearances by Ann Wilson (Heart), Mark Arm (Mudhoney) and Chris Cornell (Soundgarden).

M. Dawn, among others.

According to the liner notes, the artists were encouraged to not only record one of their own personal favorites but to also place their stamp on Jimi's songs. Several artists recorded radically different interpretations, particularly, P. M. Dawn, The Cure, Nigel Kennedy and Pat Metheny. Some artists, on the other hand, recorded versions that were rather similar to the originals.

The band M.A.C.C. is made up of Mike McCready (guitarist from Pearl Jam), Jeff Ament (bassist from Pearl Jam), Matt Cameron (drummer for Soundgarden and later for Pearl Jam), and Chris Cornell (singer of Soundgarden and later Audioslave). The cover of Hey Baby (Land of the New Rising Sun) is their only known recording. All four members of this group had previously worked together on the Temple of the Dog project.

Eric Clapton's backing group on the title track includes the three original core members of Chic (Nile Rodgers, Bernard Edwards and Tony Thompson) and is the last recording on which all three played together.

    The Last Temptation

First Time 180 Gram Audiophile Blue Vinyl & Gatefold Cover

Mastered Impeccably By Joe Reagoso (Alice Cooper/Deep Purple)

Featuring Hits: Lost In America, Sideshow & It's Me

1994 was a banner year for superstar Alice Cooper with his conceptual hit album "The Last Temptation." A solid nod to his previous 1975 classic "Welcome To My Nightmare" "Temptation" became a fixture on hard rock and heavy metal scene thanks to the hit single "Lost In America." As would be expected, this fine new album would go on to be one of his best received with his fans and the critics alike.

Featuring ten great new rockers with help from friends like Chris Cornell on "Stolen Prayer" and "Unholy War", plus the great team of Tommy Shaw (Styx/Damn Yankees) and Jack Blades (Night Ranger/Damn Yankees) on the power ballad smash "It's Me", "The Last Temptation" album truly was a masterwork from the hard rock legend Alice Cooper.

At the time, CD's were the format of choice and there was never a North American vinyl release of the album. Even overseas, it was very rare, and is one of the most expensive Alice Cooper collectables if you could even find one that is until now!!

Friday Music is honored to offer another installment in our Alice Cooper 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl Series with the spectacular "The Last Tempation." Impeccably mastered by Joe Reagoso (Alice Cooper/Styx/Deep Purple) at Friday Music Studios and Capitol Records in Hollywood, CA, the stunning album comes to life now in the audiophile vinyl domain.

To further enhance your listening hours, for a limited time, the hard rockin' Lp will be manufactured at R.T.I. on translucent blue vinyl and will be housed in a first time gatefold cover. Studio One Rub-A-Dub

In the 1970s, Clement Dodd's legendary Studio One Records went through an amazing period of re-birth working with new artists such as Willie Williams, Lone Ranger, Michigan and Smiley, Horace Andy as well as continuing to work with classic artists such as Alton Ellis, Freddie McGregor, etc. Re-versioning classic Studio One rhythms became the order of the day in the 1970s, not just with Studio One boss Clement 'Coxsone' Dodd, but with every Jamaican producer of note employing their own in-house musicians to copy the music emanating from Brentford Road. The music on Studio One Rub-A-Dub features classic and rare tracks from this amazing period, from the likes of Cornel Campbell, The Heptones, Johnny Osbourne and many other legendary artists. Sleeve-notes are by Chris Salewicz, the acclaimed writer who has written books on Joe Strummer, Bob Marley, The Rolling Stones and many more.

    American II: Unchained

The first four songs on Unchained come from the songbooks of Beck, Don Gibson, Soundgarden, and Jimmie Rodgers. What might look like absurdly
unsupportable eclecticism in other artists, of course, is pretty much standard stuff for Cash. Unchained is hardly standard, though; it's more like the best
album he's made since his 1984 departure from Columbia Records. Not only is this a stack of songs perfectly and idiosyncratically suited to the man,
they're given door-rattling backing treatment by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, who prove as fitting for Cash's music as his own Tennessee Two was
back in the day. --Rickey Wright

Two years on from his triumphant comeback album, American Recordings, 1996's Unchained took the blueprint of it's predecessor and added Tom Petty
& The Heartbreakers to the mix along with Marty Stuart, Lindsay Buckingham, Flea and many others. The results were just as fantastic, adding a different
dimension and fullness to the overall sound, but maintaining the mood and atmosphere that made American Recordings such a treasure. Songs written
by Petty, Chris Cornell and Beck rub shoulders with a handful of Johnny originals.

    In Deep Owl

In recent years, songwriter and Soundgarden bassist Ben Shepherd has been gradually moving away from the grunge rock aesthetic of his day job. (At least, as much as he can, given that the band are as synonymous with Seattle as its weather.) Spending the last four years stripping away the layers of grunge from his music, Shepherd turned introspective and acoustic. In fact, the songs which would form the basis of his upcoming debut record, In Deep Owl, were initially intended to feature only his voice and an acoustic guitar, but some longtime friends helped to subtly shift the sound and feel of the record.

Bringing on Soundgarden drummer Matt Cameron and former Pearl Jam drummer Matt Chamberlain to help fill in the gaps in the songs, Shepherd used their percussive presence to add a weight and resonance to the album. The result is a collection of tracks which retain their acoustic inclusivity while still feeling tied to the overcast dreariness of his hometown.

Having previously released the raw-edged rocker "Baron Robber," the second song released off the album is "Collide". Closer to Mark Lanegan than to Chris Cornell, the contemplative acoustic guitar and mandolin help to evoke a sense of folksy serenity. Forgoing percussion of any sort here, Shepherd emphasizes the rhythmic interplay between his voice and the minimalist stringed instrumentation. Born from a thousand campfire songs, "Collide" draws you into its inner sanctum and keeps you spellbound, firmly holding you in place without you ever realizing it.

    Uncle Anesthesia

After releasing three albums with Greg Ginn's underground label SST, Screaming Trees broke through in 1991 with Uncle Anesthesia on major label Epic. The band, fronted by Mark Lanegan (who would go on to collaborate solo with band members of Nirvana, Queens Of The Stone Age, Guns 'N Roses and Foo Fighters) is known for its raw psychedelic, whiskey voiced garage rock. This harder edge set the band apart from Seattle grunge contemporaries Alice In Chains and Soundgarden, gaining a loyal fanbase in the process. Uncle Anesthesia is produced by Chris Cornell (Soundgarden, Audioslave) and metal producer Terry Date, known for his recordings of Pantera, Prong, Overkill and White Zombie.

    Paths To Charon

Fans of the current 1970's retro rock explosion can add another band to their list of pick-me-ups: Sweden's Skanska Mord are yet another Small Stone signee with a taste for the Nazareths and Atomic Roosters of old.

There is also something of the Seattle psychedelic scene in 'Paths To Charon'. Wah-wahing guitars (think Valis and Screaming Trees) open up the first track 'Dark Caves of Our Mind' on this sophomore record, while Jan Benggtson's bluesy howl owes a bit to the vocal work of Alice in Chains' Layne Staley and Soundgarden's Chris Cornell.

The band's lyrics range from the traditional doom'n'gloom of metal's pioneers, with tunes like the plodding 'A Black Day' making no bones about the terrible state of things, while 'Lords of Space and Time' and 'Alien Encounter' take the listener on excursions elsewhere. 'Laggasen' eases things back a bit for its intro, with some tootling keyboards parting briefly for some harder-edged guitar work.

Folks with Graveyard, Horisont and Kadavar on their playlist should check them out.

    Victorious

The follow-up to 2009's Cosmic Egg and 2014's New Crown, the much-anticipated Victorious is an electrifying testament to the range and depth of songwriter/vocalist/guitarist Andrew Stockdale's artistry. Recorded at Henson Studios in Los Angeles with two-time Grammy-winning producer Brendan O'Brien (Pearl Jam, AC/DC, Chris Cornell, Bruce Springsteen), the songs are edgy, inventive and uncompromising and rank among the band's best ever.

Stockdale began working on the record this past January at his Byron Bay studio in New South Wales, writing on every instrument and embracing the same creative approach he used on the band's debut album a decade ago.

Back in the early days, I'd play guitar, bass, and drums and then present the ideas to the band and we'd work on the arrangement together, he says. I thought it would be cool to get back to demoing ideas by myself and playing everything. It's a good way to do things because it can make the style more cohesive.

In addition to vocals, Stockdale played guitar and bass and brought in Josh Freese (Nine Inch Nails, Bruce Springsteen, A Perfect Circle) and Joey Waronker (Air, Beck, REM) to split drum duties.
