    Buddy Holly (200 Gram Vinyl)

Pioneer Of Rock 'n' Roll In His Solo Album Debut!

200-Gram Vinyl Pressed At Quality Record Pressings

All-Analog Mastering By Kevin Gray At Cohearant Audio

Deluxe Tip-On Gatefold Jacket From Stoughton Printing

Rock 'n' roll legend Buddy Holly produced some of
the most distinctive and influential music of his era.
Three months after the release of The Chirping Crickets
came this self-titled 1958 classic, Buddy's last album
released prior to the plane crash in Iowa that struck
him down in 1959 at age 22.

What has Analogue Productions done to kick this classic
album up a notch? For starters, our version features
stellar remastering by Kevin Gray at Cohearent
Audio. Followed by state-of-the-art plating and pressing
on 200-gram heavyweight vinyl at Quality Record
Pressings, maker of the world's finest-sounding LPs.
    Stoughton Printing provides a sturdy old-style tip-on
gatefold jacket with added photos to round out the
    package.

Born on Sept. 7, 1936 in Lubbock, Texas, Buddy Holly
was well-versed in several music styles and was a
    seasoned performer by age 16.

When Buddy Holly & The Crickets broke through
nationally in 1957, they were marketed by Decca Records
as two different acts whose records were released
on two different Decca subsidiaries - Brunswick
for Crickets records, Coral for Holly records. But
there was no real musical distinction between the two,
except perhaps that the "Crickets" sides had more
    prominent backup vocals.

This reissue marks the debut album credited to Buddy
Holly. It features Holly's Top Ten single "Peggy Sue"
plus several songs that have turned out to be standards:
"I'm Gonna Love You Too," "Listen to Me," "Everyday,"
"Words of Love," and "Rave On."

The Holiday Inn Tapes (On Sale)

On December 1, 1986 Patrick Math from the French label, New Rose, met Roky at the Holiday Inn in Austin, TX to record the first ten tracks on this album. Due to the fact that these tracks were recorded in a hotel room, the sound quality is not superb, but still very acceptable. The thing that is superb about this album, however, is the fact that listeners get a chance to hear Roky alone in an extremely intimate setting with his acoustic guitar, playing his own material and two inspired covers by fellow Texan musical genius, Buddy Holly. The final four tracks on the album are taken from the rare and demon-ridden 1977 Sponge Records EP, recorded shortly after Roky was released from a mental institution.

Old-style Tip-on Gatefold Jacket From Stoughton Printing

One of rock's greatest albums, this is the debut album by the Crickets and the only one featuring Buddy Holly released during his lifetime. The Chirping Crickets contains the group's number one single That'll Be the Day and its Top Ten hit Oh, Boy!. Other Crickets classics include Not Fade Away, Maybe Baby, and I'm Looking for Someone to Love.

These are among the best rock 'n' roll songs of the 1950s or ever, making this one of the most significant album debuts in rock 'n' roll history - ranking with Elvis Presley and Meet the Beatles, writes AllMusic.

What has Analogue Productions done to kick this classic album up a notch? For starters, our version features stellar remastering by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio. Followed by state-of-the-art plating and pressing on 200-gram heavyweight vinyl at Quality Record Pressings, maker of the world's finest-sounding LPs. Born Charles Hardin Holley on September 7, 1936, in Lubbock, Texas, Holly was nicknamed Buddy by his mother. She felt that his given name was too big for her little boy. Holly, the altered form of his last name, would later result from a misspelling in his first recording contract. Holly learned to play piano and fiddle at an early age, while his older brothers taught him the basics of guitar.

In early 1956, Holly and his band began recording demos and singles in Nashville under the name Buddy Holly and the Three Tunes, but the group's lineup was later revised and dubbed The Crickets. Holly wrote and recorded his breakthrough hit, That'll Be the Day, with The Crickets in 1957. The song's title and refrain are a reference to a line uttered by John Wayne in the 1956 film The Searchers. Between August 1957 and August 1958, Holly and the Crickets charted seven different Top 40 singles.

Composer and singer John Fogerty, of Creedence Clearwater Revival fame, inducted Buddy Holly into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame at the 1986 Hall of Fame induction ceremony. What Buddy Holly meant to him, Fogerty said, was destiny calling. Fogerty, 12, bought That'll Be The Day and soon began dreaming of forming his own combo, like the group of musicians - The Crickets - he saw on the album cover. And in Liverpool, England, the same thing was going on with four other guys. They named their group The Beatles, because Buddy Holly's group was called The Crickets.

We are, each of us, made up of the people we love and the people we admire, Fogerty, said. We take those reflections, and hopefully, grow.

Holly's talented life was cut short in a plane crash on Feb. 3, 1959, that also claimed the lives of Ritchie Valens and J.P. The Big Bopper Richardson. This album is a tribute to what was, and what might have been a lengthy pioneering musical career.

    Buddy Holly Collected (Awaiting Repress)

Buddy Holly was one of the greatest, most inventive artists in the first wave of Rock & Roll, which The Buddy Holly Collection certainly illustrates. The selection shows his wild-man Rockabilly ways as well as his sensitive songwriting.

Although his success lasted only a year and a half before his death in an airplane crash, Holly is described by critic Bruce Eder as the single most influential creative force in early rock and roll. The Buddy Holly Collection stands as the most comprehensive and greatest retrospective of the legendary artist.

Though it contains all the big hits, this is not the place to turn if you're only looking for That'll Be the Day, Not Fade Away, and Peggy Sue. This collection encompasses much more, delving deeper into Holly's body of work. An absolutely necessity for anybody who loves American music of the 20th century.

His works and innovations inspired and influenced contemporary and later musicians, notably the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, and Elvis Costello, and exerted a profound influence on popular music.

The full-length debut by the man known as the Originator of rock and roll should need no introduction. Though never a top seller on par with his Chess Records rival Chuck Berry, Bo produced a catalog of classics to compete with all but a handful of the best early rockers, pushing rock and roll to its funkiest ever. The Bo Diddley beatthat bomp, ba-bomp-bomp, bompbomp to which the pop-garage 1965 hit I Want Candy by the Strangeloves owes everythingis one of rock and rolls bedrock rhythms, showing up in the work of Buddy Holly, the Velvet Underground, and the Rolling Stones to
name but a few. An all time classic that stretched back as far as Africa for its roots, and looked as far into the future as rap, while still remaining a milestone in the transition from blues to early rock and roll.

    Ricky Sings Again

Ricky Nelson Ricky Sings Again on Numbered Limited Edition LP from Mobile Fidelity Silver Label

Foundation-Establishing Rock n' Roll Album Includes Eternal Hit "Lonesome Town"

A Late 1950s Vocal and Instrumental Touchstone: Nelson Comes Into His Own, Moving Away from Teen Pop and Towards Serious Rockabilly

Stellar Backing Band Includes Elvis Presley Sideman/Guitarist James Burton and Backing Vocalists the Jordanaires

Also Includes Top 10 Singles "Believe What You Say," "It's Late," and "Never Be Anyone Else But You"

Superb Sound: LP Mastered on Mobile Fidelity's World-Renowned Mastering System and Pressed at RTI

Ricky Nelson will forever be identified with the ageless single "Lonesome Town." The career-defining smash is included here, on a record that arguably remains the picturesque idol's peak moment, a 1959 set on which the singer moves away from teen pop and towards serious rock n' roll and rockabilly on par with the likes of Elvis Presley and Buddy Holly. Loaded with material expressly written for Nelson as well as tunes penned by Hank Williams and Johnny Cash, and featuring an all-star session musician band, Ricky Sings Again is a foundation-building 1950s album.

Exceeding the fidelity of any prior analog pressing and affording a warmth missing from Capitol's out-of-print digital reissues, this Silver Label LP-pressed at RTI and mastered on Mobile Fidelity's internationally acclaimed mastering system-teems with detail, presence, dynamics, and authority. With help from his legendary father, Ozzie, Nelson enjoyed superb studio production, heard here in the form of balanced instrumentation, natural tonalities, wide and deep soundstages, and you-are-there vocals. Studio dimensions, too, come across with palpable body and precision. Since the record is a collection, some of the tracks are in mono, others in early stereo.

Backed by a stellar band that includes Elvis Presley guitarist James Burton and in-demand studio bassist James Kirkland, Nelson delivers what remains a 1950s classic that stands up to everything recorded by his famous contemporaries. Burton mimics the sound of a train on "One Of These Mornings," just one of the myriad tunes here on which the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member lays down fabulous lines and rockabilly licks that both shade and support the concise melodies. While largely recognized for the melancholy ballad "Lonesome Town," one of four Top 10 singles on the set, Ricky Sings Again is as much about early rock n' roll and extraordinary singing. About that voice.

Simultaneously tender and rollicking, innocent and mature, Nelson conveys a rainbow of emotions, pouring over country-flavored weepers and beat-driven rockabilly numbers with equal parts sensitivity, smoothness, and sincerity. A surfeit of heavenly background harmonies and innovative guitar-led breaks make masterpieces out of upbeat offerings such as "You Tear Me Up" as well as slow-dance invitations like "Old Enough to Love." Add the Jordanaires on back-up vocals, and there's something for everyone here.

No matter the performance, Nelson demonstrates time and again on Ricky Sings Again why he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in the institution's second year of existence-and why, even more so than Elvis during 1958-59, he was the period's leading singles artist.

Linda Ronstadt's appeal crossed so many genre lines it's impossible to categorize her as anything other than a gifted vocalist. She enjoyed success on country and rock charts alike with a voice that capably handled the requirements of both styles. There was a commanding roughness to her you-did-me-wrong classic, You're No Good, that mixed both soul and R&B stylings into her vocals. In a similar vein, she handled the Motown standard, Heat Wave, like a pro, this time giving it the slightest hint of a country twang. She even rose to the occasion of covering Buddy Holly's That'll Be the Day. Rondstadt had some of her best moments with material that had a more emotional element, regardless of genre. Love Is a Rose and Tracks of My Tears are good examples of the disparate styles she could navigate with equal aplomb. Greatest Hits doesn't chronicle Rondstadt's hits past the mid-1970s, but is still worth owning, not only for the songs themselves, but as a point of reference in her career. --Steve Gdula

    That's Why I'm Here

That's Why I'm Here is singer-songwriter James Taylor's eleventh album. It was released in 1985, four years after his previous effort, Dad Loves His Work [MOVLP893], and contains a cover version of Buddy Holly's Everyday, as well as the participation of a number of artists, including Don Henley, Joni Mitchell and Graham Nash.

Taylor had found his long-term niche with baby boomer fans now permanently tuned to Soft Rock radio - this was Taylor's first record to spawn three Top Ten adult contemporary hits, with the title track, Only One and a cover of Buddy Holly's Everyday. That's Why I'm Here eventually went platinum.

    Move Now

Born near Detroit, Michigan, Marshall Crenshaw began playing guitar at age ten and he received his first break playing John Lennon in the off-Broadway company of Beatlemania. In 1987, he played Buddy Holly in the Richie Valens biopic La Bamba. His self-titled debut album was acclaimed as a pop masterpiece upon its release in 1982 and established him as a first-rate songwriter, singer and guitarist. The record spawned the US Top 40 single Someday Someway, which rockabilly singer Robert Gordon covered and scored a hit with a year earlier, and other classics such as (You're My) Favorite Waste of Time, There She Goes Again and Cynical Girl.

Move Now EP features 2 new songs, a Lovin' Spoonful cover, a live track and something old-but-new from Crenshaw's archives.

    Bus Stop

No rest for the Hollies in 1966! Hot on the heels of Beat Group!, Bus Stop rolled into U.S. record shops, right on schedule. Written by Gouldman, the title track became the bands first Top Ten U.S. single, peaking at #5, and featuring their bell-tone harmonies to perfection. In addition to the sparkling single, the album is packed with their renditions of contemporary hits like Simon and Garfunkel's I Am A Rock, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles' Mickey's Monkey' and the Fred Neil/Roy Orbison chestnut Candy Man. Self-penned songs We're Through, Don't Run and Hide and You Know He Did also shine brightly and prove there was no danger of covering up the band members writing skills. With this disc, the Hollies put the rock world on notice that they were the British Invasions most beat-filled battalion!

Out of print for decades, this classic album is FINALLY available again. Sourced from the aurally awesome original U.K. mono master, this LP is pressed on pristine 180-gram vinyl per your turntables request. Get in the queue!

Perhaps the most undervalued band of the original British Invasion, The Hollies hits are well known in the U.S. but their early albums are almost impossible to find! Taking their name from Buddy Holly and modeling their harmonies on the Everly Brothers, the Hollies gathered these American musical ingredients and whipped them into a wholly-UKnique concoction. Forging their sound to the east of their Liverpool brothers-in-beat, this Manchester quintet had it all: the soaring vocals of Allan Clarke, Graham Nash and Tony Hicks; Hicks cascading, arpeggio-laden licks on guitar and a hard-hitting rhythm section driven by drummer extraordinaire Bobby Elliot. On top of that, their keen ears for top quality songs, written by the premier songsmiths of the day like teenage wunderkind Graham Gouldman, Chip Wild Thing Taylor and the stellar in-house writing team of Clarke/Hicks/Nash, ensured that their albums were extraordinary from start to finish. In short, they were a band that exuded greatness on all fronts. Now, as that greatness has been acknowledged by their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Sundazed Music is proud to present meticulously restored vinyl editions of the rare U.S. mono versions of the Hollies third and fourth Imperial label albums, from 1966.

    You're My Baby / Rockhouse

Most likely recorded in June of 1956, ''Rockhouse'' is a prime example of quintessential, undiluted rockabilly. While Roy and the Teen Kings' stint with Sun would be brief, the sheer power unleashed on these tracks is palpable. Most folks are only familiar with Orbison's perfected pop orchestrations recorded for Monument Records in the '60s, but his roots were firmly planted in the dusty West Texas sound, were influenced heavily by Buddy Holly and Elvis Presley, and remain equally important as the work of both.

    Hurley

Weezer return to their indie rock roots on Hurley, their first release on Epitaph and the start of a new chapter in the bands storied career. In many ways, Weezer have always been the unlikeliest of pop bands, earning major radio and video play for left field singles like Undone and Buddy Holly, songs that hardly seem calculated to become radio hits. It is exactly this uncalculated quality that the band returns to on their eighth album. Hurley is as warm and embracing as the glowing smile on actor Jorge Garcias face that graces the cover, as ragged and endearing as fan favorite Pinkerton, as bold and hooky and open as Pork and Beans. And as if that wasnt confusing enough, Rivers Cuomo co-writes with Ryan Adams and legendary Elvis Presley writer Mac Davis (In the Ghetto). In other words, Hurley is in the classic tradition of the best Weezer albums, goofy and confessional and geeky and easy to singalong to.

The soundtrack to Tim Burton's neo classic moving picture Big Fish (2003), starring Ewan McGregor, Helena Bonham Carter, Marion Cotillard and Jessica Lange, collects classic Pop songs and a score of longtime collaborator Danny Elfman (Edward Scissorhands, Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas, Mars Attacks! and others).

The 2LP soundtrack also contains a new song from Pearl Jam, specifically written for the movie: Man of the Hour. The soundtrack's Pop songs range from Bing Crosby's early-'30s Jazz hit Dinah to the '50s nostalgia of Buddy Holly's Everyday and Elvis Presley's All Shook Up, right up to the '60s and '70s recollections of Canned Heat's Let's Work Together and Ramblin' Man by the Allman Brothers Band.

    To Win Or To Lose

Their second release for K reflects the new age of darkness that has recently hit the global mass market. This record has fast songs about living and self-destruction, songs about natural disaster, public domain dance music, and tales of those who walk the streets, sleep in dumpsters or cars, or who jump trains. "[This] defiantly Alabamian punk/rockabilly troupe who used to practice in a graveyard have stumbled on a winning formula: choppy, rhythm-centric odes to Buddy Holly and Carl Perkins and distinguish [themselves] with deft arrangements and an old hound's sense of restraint" - Pitchfork.

A Place Where We Could Go (Discontinued) (On Sale)

This is a debut album containing ten songs, but really it is a cinematic escapade into the mind of the illusive and evocative Jeremy Jay. A Place Where We Could Go is a statement of fiction and fact, the romance of life without the people and things that pull down the corners. It's a fairy tale illuminated by streetlight and a safe haven for the exploration of dreams. Jeremy Jay and his music is like Buddy Holly, Peter Pan and the John Hughes movies rolled into one, pure storybook.

    Green And Yellow

    First Ever Reissue

Green and Yellow is the collected recordings of
legendary lost 1970s Deep South freaksters, THE
STROKE BAND. Seen and heard, until now, by only a
few South Georgia pot heads, rednecks, sheriffs,
strippers, and intoxicated U.S. Marines. Fronted by
Bruce Joyner - a swamp rat synthesis of Buddy Holly,
Bryan Ferry and Jerry Lee Lewis - The Stroke Band were
an art-punk aberration to anything else happening in
South Georgia in 1978 - 79. This Anthology Recordings
re-release of the Green and Yellow album is the first in
any form since the private press LP came out in 1978.

    Feel Your Feelings Fool!

Perfectly imperfect - that's one way to describe LA based punk act, The Regrettes. Writing songs that proudly bear a brazen and unabashed attitude in the vein of acts Courtney Barnett or Karen O - with a pop aesthetic reminiscent of 50's and 60's acts a la the Temptations or Buddy Holly - the LA based four piece create infectious, punk driven tracks.

Lead by outspoken frontwoman, Lydia Night, and comprised of Genessa Gariano on guitar, Sage Nicole on bass and drummer Maxx Morando, the group have left the LA rock scene floored, managing to capture the hearts of jaded rock critics while opening for acts like Kate Nash, Jack Off Jill, Bleached, Pins, Deep Vally and more.
