Both Sides Now'
Bacharach: The Look of LoveThe Look Of Love, everyone's favorite track from Casino Royale, takes center stage here on this highly-collectible 2 side/2 speed set featuring the silky and sultry vocal dalliances of the great Dusty Springfield. This is a comparison disc cut at 33 1/3 RPM on one side and at 45 RPM on the other. The amount of information and level on both sides is the same with the only differences being the speed at which the lathe was traveling during cutting and that a cartridge can better track the 45 RPM side compared with the 33 RPM side. At 33 Dusty sounds alive, at 45 she is in the room with you! Available now on Classic Records Clarity Vinyl SVP-II 200g.
Clarity Vinyl represents the ultimate in vinyl formulations because it is comprised of over 90% of the highest quality co-polymer available, a key component in vinyl pellets used for manufacturing vinyl records. Further, Clarity Vinyl has no carbon black additive, common in vinyl formulas for LPs. Carbon Black contains trace metals that become magnetized and cause electrical distortions in cartridges during playback that smears the sound. By taking out the Carbon Black, Classic Records is able to dramatically reduce the electrical distortions and thus bring more clarity to the playback process, providing a more realistic musical experience to the listener and LP enthusiast.1. Birth Of The Dead Volume Two - The Live SidesExclusive Only To This LP Release: First Time Sitting Photos Of The Dead By The Legendary Herb Greene
Impeccably Mastered By Joe Reagoso At Friday Music Studios And Capitol Records, Hollywood, CA With Ron McMaster
The legendary Bay area rock superstars the Grateful Dead scored for over four decades a plethora of wonderful recordings throughout their incredible career. Spearheaded originally by the late great Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Bill Kruetzmann and the late Ron "Pigpen" McKernan, these five gentlemen set the world on fire with their magnificent artistry and musicianship unparalleled to this day.
With their very first San Francisco live gigs and when they were locally known as The Warlocks, the historical importance of these debut concert recordings would soon become a blueprint for the music world as the Grateful Dead would become one of the biggest concert attractions of all time.
Over a decade ago, the Grateful Dead unearthed 14 super rare live recordings from the mid-sixties. None of these recordings were ever previously released at the time. Recorded in San Francisco from a July 1966 performance, when they were signed to the Scorpio Records label, this ultra rare concert tape simply became manna for the fans and was truly a find for any collector of fine rock and roll and
early psych and garage rock fare.
Dead fan favorite Viola Lee Blues kicks off the rare collection, and then the fireworks light up as future Grateful Dead classics like Don't Ease Me In and the stellar Jimmy Reed classic Big Boss Man truly become a very important and interesting listen to any fan of the Dead or classic rock in general.
Known for their jams in concert, you will get to hear stellar takes on rare blues tracks like One Kind Favor, Next Time You See Me and
of course their super rare Bob Dylan interpretation of It's All Over Now Baby Blue, which would be an interesting choice not knowing there
would be future collaborations with Dylan in both of their important later careers.
Even superlative covers of Otis Redding's Pain In My Heart and the Slim Harpo blues champion I'm A King Bee are included in this amazingly important and historic rock release from this much loved band.
These Grateful Dead recordings have never been released on the vinyl format that is until now
Friday Music is very pleased to announce for the very first time on 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl - The Grateful Dead's Birth Of The Dead Volume Two-The Live Sides. This deluxe 2 LP set not only has the original 14 live performances unearthed by the Dead themselves, but it also includes for the very first time anywhere several unearthed photos from the lens of the legendary Herb Greene. These first time issued photos show the very first sittings of the Grateful Dead and will make your listening hours that much more enjoyable as you stare at the
brilliant pictures of your favorite rockers in this very special era.
As a further installment in the exclusive and authorized Grateful Dead Friday Music 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl Series, this fine album
is part of a historical two part audiophile vinyl series along with the Birth Of The Dead Volume One-The Studio Sessions which was released
in late 2013.
Mastered impeccably for vinyl by Joe Reagoso (Grateful Dead) at Friday Music Studios and at Capitol Records, Hollywood, CA, this
limited edition audiophile version of Birth Of The Dead Volume Two-The Live Sides will truly be a welcome addition to your Dead collection.

Amon Amarth strikes with a stake through the heart on With Oden on Our Side, a heavier album than refines the band's patented melodic death metal style. - Blabbermouth
As if the Norse deity had cast a blessing on Amon Amarth, the band emerged with an album that will define a before and after in their career for years to come. Recorded at Fascination Street Studios with producer Jens Bogren, the majestic riffs, thunderous drums and roaring vocals have never sounded better and more convincing. A match surely made in Valhalla, Mikkonen comments on the collaboration as follows: We had never worked with a producer before the way it should be done. Jens Bogren took the band to a new level, both production- and sound-wise. Musically, this album is more worked through and, most important of all, we wrote it together as a unit. A most fearsome and deadly unit, that is now gearing up to crush audiences the world over once again!1. Valhall Awaits Me

B-Sides & Rarities
A metallic rush of guitars and thundering drums, Deftones' music both epitomizes the hard-and-fast glory of post-grunge alt-metal and blows it wide open with innovation. As the Northern California-bred quintet evolved through a string of acclaimed albums and incessant, high-velocity touring, they also incorporated modern rock influences including The Cure and The Smiths into their Soundgarden/Tool/Rage Against the Machine/Pantera-inspired sonics. Now Maverick's new compilation sheds light on lesser-known output with covers, unreleased mixes, video B-Roll, and other choice rarities.Vinyl

the second Pixies album, but the first to
be made available in the US. An instant hit

the album to celebrate its 20th birthday

time to give it the deluxe release treatment

Take A Look At Me Now: Collector's Edition (Box Set)Phil Collins Take A Look At Me Now Retrospective Reissue Campaign release
Entirely curated and compiled by Collins himself, this idea for the Take A Look At Me Now concept is to examine how his songs have evolved over time, with the majority of the additional content throughout the series focused on live versions of the tracks. By contrasting the original studio versions of the material with later performances, the series demonstrates how Collins' songs take on a life of their own once they're freed from the confines of the studio. Vinyl boxed which compiles 180gm vinyl editions of both Face Value and Both Sides together.

Duke Reid Rock's SteadyFirst 750 Numbered Copies Pressed On 180 Gram Orange Vinyl, Black Vinyl Thereafter
Trojan's First Release From 50 Years Ago!
In honour of the 50th year anniversary of the UK's first Trojan label, Music On Vinyl proudly make available once more the album that got the ball rolling back in the summer of 1967.
The first of a series of classic albums from the legendary Trojan catalogue that will see issue throughout the year, the erroneously titled 'Duke Reid Rock's Steady' was originally released by Island Records to promote their new Trojan label, an imprint launched to specifically showcase the productions of legendary Treasure Isle Records boss, Arthur 'Duke' Reid.
Simultaneously issued in Jamaica as 'Rock Steady Beat', the LP highlights the best of Reid's output from the preceding months and proved so popular back in '67 that pressings quickly sold out on both sides of the Atlantic.
Now, 50 years on, lovers of the coolest sound to emanate from Jamaica's golden shores can finally own a copy of this seminal collection without needing to spend a duke's ransom for the pleasure!1. Alton Ellis & The Flames - Rock Steady

PUPIf you haven't heard of Toronto punk-band PUP; that will probably soon change.
The band, who changed their name from Topanga to PUP back in April, have been labeled as a band to watch by both The Grid and NOW Magazine.
In their debut, self-titled album, the band combines a throwback, classic punk sound with a modern indie sound, comparable to that of fellow Canadian rockers Hollerado.
Their raw, catchy guitar hooks coupled with in-your-face vocals are refreshing to listen to in a world of modern music where these things are tragically uncommon.
Songs like Guilt Trip, Reservoir and Lionheart are particular highlights of the album.
The lyrics are relatable, dealing with coming-of-age topics that everyone can identify with on some level. In an interview for CBC, the band says their lyrics come from "frustration and anxiety and trying to get your shit together."
With this debut album under their belts, it would be fair to say PUP is well on their way.

SummonNYC's Bloody Panda released their critically lauded sophomore album Summon in late 2009 via Profound Lore Records. Now, 20 Buck Spin has the honor of bringing this harrowing, disturbing vision of doom to the analog format. Characterized by a horror-inflected wall of amplifier drone and stunning percussive arrangements that showcase a variety of tempos, Summon is a one-hour journey through the lowest depths and dankest dark chambers of doom. Frontwoman Yoshiko Ohara conjures both Diamanda Galas and Jarboe with her banshee-like screams, howls and vocal exorcisms. There's no doubt Summon is a difficult masterpiece of modern experimentalist doom abstraction, and it can now be enjoyed on four sides of pitch black wax. MGM Singles, TheThese days, Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs are best remembered for such infectious 60s hits as Wooly Bully and Lil Red Riding Hood, and for the sartorial splendor of turbaned frontman/organist Sam the Sham (nÉe Domingo Samudio) and his bandmates. But the one-of-a-kind Memphis-by-way-of-Texas quintet produced a large and highly original body of R&B/blues/Tex-Mex/garage tunes that established them as one of the greatest singles bands of the 1960s. While the bands wacky humor and flamboyant visual image may have threatened to brand them as a novelty act, their raw exuberance, rootsy grit and playfully subversive streak made it clear that Sam and his Pharaohs were the genuine article.
Throughout the second half of the 60s, Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs turned out a lengthy string of killer seven-inchers. Many of those singles boasted non-album B-sides that were as memorable as their better-known A-sides. Now, for the first time ever, Sundazed Music has gathered both sides of every one of the bands original MGM Records singles on this lovingly packaged 2-LP collection. The sizzling set includes such immortal Pharaohs classics as Wooly Bully, Lil Red Riding Hood, Ju Ju Hand, Ring Dang Doo, Red Hot, The Hair on My Chinny Chin Chin, How Do You Catch a Girl and (Im in With) The Out Crowd, along with an amazing assortment of rare non-album B-sides, solo efforts and side projects. KuiperFloating Points - also known as Sam Shepherd - has announced Kuiper, which comes after last year's critically acclaimed debut album 'Elaenia'. Out on Luaka Bop, Kuiper features two tracks but over 30 minutes of music. Speaking about the new release, Shepherd says:
"Since starting a band to realize the music from my LP, it has sparked a deep interest in the band itself, and so Kuiper is the result of playing with Leo, Alex and Susumu. Each time we play it, it's completely different. We set the scene with electronics, and some drum machines that form the foundation to allow the unfurling of the rest of the track. The version on this EP - believe it or not - was recorded at 8am!
The other side - 'For Marmish Part II' - is carbon dated by my singing voice. I can't get that high anymore! It was recorded way before ' For Marmish' on the album but the two tracks happened to be written around the same time. I want to share them because both sides reflect in two tracks where I was right at the start of the Elaenia project, right up to now post-LP release, playing live and going on the road with a band. I hope, like I feel, people will find a common strand in the hypnotic nature of both tracks."1. Kuiper

Mrs. Jones' Cookies (Discontinued) (On Sale)Includes a CD quality digital download of the full album.
Empty Cellar Records presents the latest full-length platter by THE SANDWITCHES, Mrs. Jones' Cookies. San Francisco's Sandwitches have been plugging away at their craft for a couple magical years now, sprinkling their barbed, alluring electric folk briars across unsuspecting gardens in the Bay Area and beyond. Previous releases, such as the swampy ecstasy of How To Make Ambient Sadcake and last year's oceanic ouija board of an EP, Duck Duck Goose!, captured distinct sides of the trio. Mrs. Jones Cookies is here now to unify their uniquely whimsical and creepy vision. Mrs. Jones' Cookies pours Sadcake's plaintive bounce into Duck Ducks celestial, mysterious drift, spiking the mix with a side they've previously only hinted at: a playfulness, a comfort. It's the sound of a band at ease with unease. Even when they're plumbing the most desperate depths, there's an unforced confidence in the lonely plucking of guitarists HEIDI ALEXANDER and GRACE COOPER. The shared vocal duties are where these ladies truly and finally let loose. On 'Lightfoot' and single 'Summer Of Love,' drummer ROXY BRODEUR punches out lively, soul-flecked trots, as Grace and Heidi tickle the end of their high and low ranges, returning later to those highs and lows with extra force and bluster, shooting out the lights with aplomb. The Sandwitches live for moments like this, teasing the listener with deceptively simple backing, then letting fly with soaring vocal saltwater taffy that can be scary, cartoonish, or both. Then, of course, the girls backtrack on a dime and plant a mournful lullaby in your lap, as affecting and otherworldly as you'll ever hear and complete with a wandering flute. ShriekJenn Wasner and Andy Stack of Wye Oak have spent most of their
lives in Baltimore, Maryland. But after two years of constant touring
with Civilian, their highly lauded 2011 album, they landed on opposite
sides of the country with an unforeseeable future ahead. Despite this
newfound uncertainty, the two bandmates embraced their physical
distance, passing ideas back and forth, allowing new work to evolve in
their respective solitudes. Shriek is Wye Oak's fourth full-length and the
culmination of their intent to express the emotional and
intuitive self by acting out animalistic exclamations through cathartic
release. It is their most personal and confident declaration yet.
Newly inspired by playing bass, Jenn took up songwriting in a setting
where the guitar did not dictate harmonic boundaries or require a
call-and-response relationship with her voice, a hallmark of
previous Wye Oak records. With her phrasing freed, now it is often
Andy who interacts with Jenn's vocals, playing syncopated and
meditative keyboard parts, and the duo's collaborative arrangements
provide a backdrop in which both the arcs of melodies and the new
rhythmic elements flourish.
To engineer, mix, and co-produce, they brought in Nicolas
Vernhes of the Rare Book Room in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, whose inventive and forward-thinking approaches to production complemented
their new direction. The result is a record of indisputable humanity.

John Lee's Barclay James Harvest - Live At Metropolis StudioLimited Edition of 750
December 2010 at Metropolis Studios, West London. 120 fans are squeezed into Studio A to witness at extremely close quarters a performance by a progressive rock legend. Leader John Lees introduces a set which includes a wealth of Barclay James Harvest classics and no one in the room was much more than ten feet from a band that is renowned for having played to hundreds of thousands on both sides of the Berlin Wall during the 1980s. It was during the 1970s that BJH made their mark with an impressive array of Mellotron-soaked mini-epics that owed more to Vaughan Williams than Chuck Berry. Today, of course, founder member Lees' version of the band have the full range of 21st century technology available to present what is a selection of the best of BJH - including the poignant Child Of The Universe, the symphonic Mockingbird and of course the concluding and timeless Hymn. It was in 2006 that principal songwriter and guitarist Lees toured the UK for the first time (with original member and keyboardist Woolly Wolstenhome, now sadly deceased) as John Lees' Barclay James Harvest. Sold out London shows, filmed for DVD release, testified to their appeal after a long absence from the stage and for the many fans not lucky enough to have attended the Metropolis show, this new live souvenir offers them an opportunity to once again be captivated by those much-loved BJH compositions.1. The Panic Sequence EPMixed by Grammy-Award winning engineer Gus Oberg (The Strokes, The Virgins, Drowners, Albert Hammond Jr.) and produced by Nightbox themselves,
with co-production from Al-P of MSTRKRFT and co-writing from Sebastien Grainger of DFA 1979 on the lead single "Burning," The Panic Sequence EP is
the next progression for a rising band rooted in charmingly humble beginnings.
With their self-titled debut EP on Last Gang Records, Nightbox caught the ears of the BBC, which ranked their performance in the top-10 of that year's
Electric Picnic Festival. Over the next couple years, support slots on both sides of the Atlantic for Ellie Goulding, Cults and DFA 1979 followed, along with

Death CertificateIf Ice Cube's debut was a shocking attack that proved the N.W.A legacy would be stronger divided, his sophomore effort was a new kind of superstar pulling off the miraculous, a follow-up that equals its classic predecessor and tops it in some people's books. With a million copies of Death Certificate preordered, Cube was no longer the rock critics' darling. A million people listening was dangerous, especially since he was now slithering his influence into the suburbs. If the black rage didn't get you, the misogyny of I'm gonna do my thing, with your daughter probably would. Here, one of rap's greatest storytellers is able to draw hatred in under a minute with the short and direct Black Korea, an angry protest song concerning Korean grocers that got him dubbed racist and Ice KKKube by some. The track is an extreme representation of how a much sharper and cutting this album is when compared with his debut, and even though the intro announces the full-length is divided into a Death Side and Life Side, both are equally bleak. With the CD format, the two sides are indistinguishable and run over the listener with fast tales of drug dealing, drive-by shootings, and women who go from Ms. Thing to Ms. Gonorrhea. This would be numbing if it weren't for the rapper's amazing lyrics, ground-shaking delivery, and insight like when A Bird in the Hand deals with the irony of selling crap to buy diapers (Gotta serve you food that might give you cancer/Cuz my son doesn't take no for answer). A bit of sweet relief comes with the brightness of the great single Steady Mobbin' and with the nostalgia and slow tempo of Doing Dumb Shit. True to the Game (Ain't that a bitch/They hate to see a young nigga rich) is arguably the quintessential Cube track and if all this weren't enough already, the N.W.A diss No Vaseline hangs off the album like a crowd-pleasing, Brick-sampling encore. Although next year's Predator would be a bigger hit, Death Certificate brings to a close the man's trilogy of perfect albums that began with N.W.A's Compton and explodes into a supernova right here.

What IsTo be a fan of Maynard James Keenan is to follow him to some curious and often dark places. The is especially true of Keenan's side project/solo/collaborative experiment Puscifer. A decade old now, Puscifer mixes insult comedy, desert mythology and the kind of soundtrack that sticks in the back of your consciousness. The project is at turns goofy, offensive and haunting. All sides are on display in the new What Is . ...
The band makes a strong effort to keep the focus on the music. Beyond a single screen showing video, lighting and effects are minimal. The musicians remain mostly unlit in silhouette, focused on performance, and this is by far the highlight. Nearly every member provides vocals: Matt McJunkins is featured on bass and keyboards; Mat Mitchell Josh Eustis both provide keyboard and guitars; Jeff Friedl is the ever-reliable drummer. The set list draws evenly from releases throughout their career and is well-paced, from the sparse and simple "Tumbleweed" to the pummel of "Toma." Although women don't fare too well in Puscifer songs (surprised?), the jewel of the performance is Carina Round, singer, guitarist and oft-collaborator. Round's delicate and clear voice provides elegant harmony over Maynard's snaky, minor-key tenor. She sings back-up, duets, and leads on a couple songs, balancing the otherwise prevailing gloom of the set.
For a longtime fan of Puscifer, What Is is an easy get, especially for one who hasn't had the opportunity to see them in concert, as their tours are rare. It also serves as the perfect introduction to the band, a gateway to their work thus far.

Best of Both Worlds: Dylan Pairs With a Band on Side One, Goes It Alone on Astonishing Solo Thought Dream Odysseys on Side Two
Epitome of Iconic: Everything from Cover Art to Sound to Attitude to Song Represents New Benchmark in Respective Categories
Numbered, Limited Edition
Bob Dylan's Bringing It All Back Home represents the moment that pop and rock music became their own art form, expressions finally treated with the same seriousness and respect as classical and jazz. Incalculably influential, the 1965 landmark established myriad benchmarks in songwriting, sound, artwork, and performance. It served the world notice that Dylan was no longer just the virtuoso visionary tuned into the wants of the folk community. Its a disarming broadcast that declares Dylan's surroundings and personality, and those of his audiences, whether they knew it or not, drastically changed.
As part of its Bob Dylan catalog restoration series, Mobile Fidelity is thoroughly humbled to have the privilege of mastering the iconic LP from the original master tapes and pressing it on 45RPM LPs at RTI. The end result is the very finest, most transparent analog stereo edition of Bringing It All Back Home ever produced. Forever renowned for its organic sound, the albums you-are-there-presence is fantastically enhanced on this superb version, with wider and deeper grooves affording playback of previously buried information.
The sonics are so realistic, balanced, and tonally accurate that acoustic guitars resonate with the woody decay they do as when you strum them on your lap. Equally vivid are the textures of the drum skins, amplified pitch of the electric guitars, and ambient hum of the interior space of Columbias Studio B. Both the plugged-in and acoustic sides claim a discerning level of microdynamics, spaciousness, imaging, and warmth that will send even the most rabid Dylan fan into a tizzy. And what better record to cause such enthusiastic reactions?
More than 45 years after its release, Bringing It All Back Home continues to come on like a prophetic transmission from a savant whos privy to cerebral viewpoints, mental transferences, and thought dreams elusive to everyone but him. With the flipside of the album, Dylan strings together four of the most unflinching, forward-reaching, and boundary-breaking acoustic-based compositions ever played. In addressing liberating psychedelia, lost innocence, institutional naivetÉ, and tarnished relationships, respectively, Dylan constructs a compositional quartet/suite that functions as metaphor for his waving goodbye to political folk musics imprisoning rules and bounding restrictivenessand a rough guide to the transcendental poetry, shape-shifting vocal phrasing, and alternate tunings he now embraced.
Side One remains one of the boldest cohesive artistic statements ever assembled. Dylan, forever throwing down the gauntlet to detractors and narrow-minded fans, plugging in with a band and kicking it all off with the in-your-face hootenanny Subterranean Homesick Blues before romping, slashing, and rolling through Maggies Farm, another fun albeit caustic indictment of homogenous thought and bohemian method. Dylans attitude undergoes a self-awakening metamorphosis, his lyrical scope broadened, his hallucinogenic interests increased, his willingness to embrace paradoxes and shake them out with mind-convulsing aptitude in line with his progression towards bizarre imagery.
Bringing It All Back Home marks the moment when paradigms permanently shifted, preexisting standards fell, and fresh aural, poetic, and sonic dialects came to fore. Albums dont come more vetted. You deserve to experience it in the finest-possible quality.
Given the sonic and artistic merit of this album, we anticipate huge demand.

The Last DawnWhen MONO began in 1999, they set out with a simple mission:
From bliss to bludgeon, no matter how long or winding the path
may be. Their debut album, Under The Pipal Tree, outlined that
mission in twisted, psychedelic fury. Subsequent albums would see
the band honing their craft, mastering their mission, and ultimately
abandoning that path in favor of more grandiose pursuits. Flanked
by increasingly larger orchestras, MONO performed live at some of
the most prestigious venues in New York City, London, Tokyo, and
Australia. MONO had become an orchestral rock band, a spectacle
of extreme melancholy and melodrama. By 2012's For My Parents,
the band had finally reached the logical conclusion of that era; it
was time to remember where they started, and to rethink where
they were heading. Less strings? No strings? Louder? Quieter?
Lighter? Darker? Yes.
The Last Dawn and Rays of Darkness are a pair of new albums by
MONO. Recorded simultaneously yet conceptually and creatively
disparate, the two act as both opposing and complementary sides
to a story. No strangers to narratives, the twin albums explore
familiar themes for the band: Hope and hopelessness, love and
loss, immense joy and unspeakable pain. Those elemental parts of
life and the complicated relationships they create have never been
more resonant through MONO's music than they are here.
The Last Dawn is the first of these two companion albums, and is
the lighter of the two, thematically and melodically. It contains
undoubtedly some of MONO's strongest songs ever, drawing on an
array of influences from minimalist film score to vintage shoegaze.
It is MONO at their absolute purest, executing an uncanny,
unspoken dialogue with each other without the dozens of stringed
instruments that have been so prominent throughout their catalog
in recent years. The songs are also noticeably more efficient -
MONO have always been masters of telling compelling stories
without words. But now they've proven they can do it without frills,
too.1. The Land Between Tides / Glory
