BORIS has always demolished expectations of what a band can do musically and aesthetically. In keeping with that tradition, they again flip the script for the band's first official release in three years buy serving up their most all-encompassing effort to date. Noise is an amplification of BORIS' endless pursuit of musical extremes while moving aggressive, intense rock into new territories.

    Heavy Rocks

    Gatefold sleeve plus download card.

Boris already released an album called Heavy Rocks in 2002, but this new Heavy Rocks is a completely different work, one destined to confuse record-keepers for years to come. The new one even has similar cover art to the last one. According to a press release, the band is bringing back the title because the new album seeks to redefine heavy music in a culmination of the bands tireless efforts over the past two decades. Makes perfect sense!

MOONLIGHT is the breathtaking soundtrack to the film Rolling Stone has called A Masterpiece. The album features the critically-acclaimed score by composer Nicholas Britell, as well as choice songs including Every N**r Is A Star by Boris Gardner, Cell Therapy by Goodie Mob and Hello Stranger by Barbra Lewis.

Nicholas Britell is an award-winning composer, pianist, and producer. In 2015, Britell scored Adam McKay's Oscar-nominated film THE BIG SHORT, and his music also featured prominently in Steve McQueen's Oscar-winning film 12 YEARS A SLAVE, for which he composed and arranged the on-camera music including the violin performances, spiritual songs, work songs, and dances. As a producer, Britell produced Damien Chazelle's short film WHIPLASH, and subsequently co-produced the Oscar-nominated feature film WHIPLASH.

Britell's emotional and evocative score to MOONLIGHT has resonated with audiences from early festival screenings, earning accolades from critics in their reviews of the film which underline how the music is wrapped into the very fabric of the film itself.

    Attention Please

Gatefold vinyl packaged with one of three limited edition posters.

Iconoclast Japanese trio Boris are widely known for their ability to breach styles and stretch sonic boundaries of all that is heavy, psychedelic, droning and downright cathartic. But, Attention Please is more like a complete redefining of their potential in several ways. First and foremost, it is the first album on which all vocals are sung by lead guitarist, Wata. While she has previously sung on a couple of songs for singles and her own solo recordings, the entire 10-song album features her intimate, multifaceted vocal style. Secondly, the songs on Attention Please have a sultry, intoxicating catchiness to them. It's melodic without sounding pop. It's psychedelic without sounding dated. It's heavy without relying on barre chord riffs.

YAMANTAKA // SONIC TITAN release UZU, the highly anticipated followup to their critically acclaimed, self-titled debut, YT//ST. Out in 2013 on Suicide Squeeze Records, UZU exhibits a diverse range of influences, from bands like Sleep and Boris to art and cultural references like classical Japanese drama and the "nihilistic art-punk scene of pre-Giuliani New York City."

YAMANTAKA // SONIC TITAN explain the decision to start the album with the aggressive, guitar driven first single, "One", as a way to pay tribute to the extended group's indigenous upbringing and lead off with a traditional Iroquois song. The introductory chant is a social song calling people together and is traditionally performed by people of the Mohawk tribe.

    BXI

Southern Lord presents the incredible collaboration between label artists Boris and Ian Astbury (The Cult). The finely-crafted four-song release, entitled BXI, was tracked and mixed in Tokyo in April of 2010. Astbury's iconic rock vocals are a perfect match for Boris' straightforward, laid-back, but still raw and imaginative songwriting constructed for the EP; another intriguing display within the band's ever-morphing, extensive resume of releases, tours and collaborations.

BXI showcases the already unclassifiable rock of Boris in an entirely new light, and shows a new side of one of rock and roll's most notorious singers. The release features three new original tracks, as well as a cover of The Cult's song Rain, ethereally vocalized by Boris guitarist Wata. Art and design for the release was created by Stephen O'Malley.

    Get Back (On Sale)

It's doubtful that Stephen McBean set out to make The Great Rock 'N' Roll Primer when he started conjuring the
songs that would come to be Pink Mountaintops' Get Back.

The record's beginnings were reasonably straightforward: McBean had moved to Los Angeles, taken a long hiatus
from Black Mountain and an even longer one from Pink Mountaintops when he met producer Joe Cardamone, lead
singer of Icarus Line at Valley Recording Company in Burbank,CA.The two bonded quickly over Flying Nun bands,
Television Personalities, Roxy Music, Johnny Thunders, and Born Against. Joe was excited to meet someone he
actually liked. Stephen was excited to work with someone who said Sing it like you would've sung it when you were
    21. Simple enough,right?

But ask him to set the scene and you'll hear about a motorcycle shop owned by Michael Barragan, former member
of Los Angeles noise rock band Plexi. You'll hear about an endless supply of rock 'n' roll video documentation for
last minute inspiration or de-evolution in the living room.Ask who's on the record and you'll get a constellation of
greats:J Mascis(DinosaurJr &Witch),Rob Barbato (Darker My Love,The Fall & Cass McCombs), Steve Kille (Dead
Meadow), Daniel Allaire (Brian Jonestown Massacre, Cass McCombs & Darker My Love), Annie Hardy (Giant
Drag), Jon Wahl(Clawhammer), and Gregg Foreman (Cat Power & Delta 72).Randal Dunn (Sunn O))),Earth, Sun
City Girls, Boris) mixed Get Back at Avast! Studios (Bikini Kill, Mudhoney, Christ On A Crutch, Soundgarden) in
Seattle. Howie Weinburg (Nirvana, Beastie Boys, Danzig, Ramones, Slayer) mastered it in Laurel Canyon.

Ask about the record itself and McBean will tell you about Alleys, curbs, walls, and cigarette stained gig flyers. An
island on the Pacific coast. Fake British towns. Slayer posters. The beauty of youth. It's about listening to Driver's Seat
and 'Guns of Brixton' and hotboxing The Duster. And suddenly it becomes clear: when the aliens do touch down
and they don't know rock 'n'roll, you can play them Get Back start to finish, and that'll be all they need.

Get Back comes out swinging with Ambulance City, a head-trip of a song with a chugging, insistent, oddly timeless
guitar riff sitting front and center. The Second Summer of Love needs almost no explanation; it dives into 80s VHS
saturation and never comes up for air. Sell Your Soul is a deep sigh and a motorcycle ride, a roll in the grass
lamenting summertime blues with a little grit and a little harmony. And North Hollywood Microwaves is
downright obscene. But what better way to start Side B than this? You can listen at hushed volumes so your parents
don't hear, you can crank it in a dorm room, you can smirk to yourself from the safety of rock 'n'roll's old age.You
start to wonder- why don't all Side Bs start with a song like this one

The number of platitudes in music hit critical mass years ago, and among those tropes is that annoying, inescapable
mantra:rock 'n'roll is undefinable. And yeah, sure, that's true. It's different things to different people. It starts with
guitars, maybe, and ends with a stage-dive, or spit, or feedback. Rock 'n'roll is drugs, is rebellion, is youth, is sex, is
cosmic. It's wanting more than you have.Rock 'n'roll is butts and cigarette butts. And Pink Mountaintops might not
be the best-known band ever to make rock 'n' roll, but in Get Back they just might have written its scripture -- an
exploration and celebration of what, exactly, rock 'n'roll can be.

Their debut is an expertly crafted indie pop gem. Spin declared the Missouri band could succeed The Shins. Then a slew of bloggers ranked them ahead of Wilco and Iron & Wine in Leafblower's annual Top Bands Of America Today. Broom sparkles when it rocks, has hooks galore, and should make a lasting impression. Think The Shins, Pavement, Of Montreal, and Elliott Smith. Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin returned to the attic where they made their debut full-length Broom. Phil Dickey, Will Knauer, and Jonathan James spent up to twelve hours a day working on the songs that would become Fly By Wire.

With James assuming the role of engineer, Dickey and Knauer wrote lyrics and guitar parts on a third floor windowsill and recorded vocals in the staircase. This laid-back approach to recording is clearly evident in the album's warm, welcoming sound.

    The High Country

180-Gram White Vinyl In Gatefold Jacket

Recorded At Chris Walla's (Death Cab For Cutie) Hall Of Justice Studio

Engineered By Beau Sorenson (Bob Mould, Camera Obscura)

A raw pop record infused with undeniable hooks, distortion pedals,
passion, grit, and maybe a little insanity, The High Country is the first
SSLYBY album to truly capture the power and energy the group
    exudes when performing live.

SSLYBY recorded The High Country as a power trio consisting of
Dickey, guitarist/vocalist Will Knauer, and bassist Tom Hembree, a
founding member of the group who left after Broom, but returned to
(as Dickey describes it) "stir things up in the best way possible and
demand we play louder and faster."

After a month spent demoing and practicing, the three musicians
convened at Seattle's legendary Hall of Justice to record with engineer
Beau Sorenson (Superchunk, Garbage). In many ways, The High
Country is the record Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin has been

    Tape Club

Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin has never been the type of band to write and record only when it's time to release a new album.

Prolific writers with a penchant for recording, the group's constant devotion to the art of songwriting has equipped them with a myriad of material spanning the entire length of their 10 years together.

And now, with three full-length releases to their credit, the members of SSLYBY feel it's time to properly unveil a portion of the songs from their extensive catalog.

The result is Tape Club -- a carefully curated 26-song collection that serves as the culmination of a decade's worth of writing and recording above and beyond what could be included on their previous records and which stands by itself as a truly unique album.

Tape Club documents the story of the band aurally -- beginning with lo-fi home recordings (of the type found on their self-recorded debut Broom) and ending with more polished studio tracks (like those found on the Chris Walla-produced Let It Sway).

For those unfamiliar with SSLYBY, Tape Club serves as an introduction to the evolution of the band's musical vision, while at the same time providing surprises for even the most ardent of fans.

    Compiled Fragments 1997-2003

Celebrating the release of their new EP Abyssal, and in conjunction with their forthcoming North American tour, Temporary Residence is re-introducing Envy's colossal back catalog. This collection of singles, rare tracks, and unreleased gems maps Envy's storied transformation from pioneering spastic hardcore to masters of exquisite, triumphant doom. Originally released in 2003 on the group's own Sonzai Records in Japan, it has never been available domestically, nor released on vinyl. This is everything you've ever wanted doom to be, rife with beautifully picked guitar parts, revelatory screams, the texture we've all come to expect from similar acts (Pelican, Red Sparowes), and the consistency we all wish Boris had - Skyscraper.

Invariable Will, Recurring Ebbs and Flows (Box Set)

    Flag

Flag is a 1988 album by the enterprising and influential Swiss electronica sound-art group Yello consisting of vocalist/conceptualist Dieter Meier and composer/arranger Boris Blank. By far the most successful pop export from their country, Yello has often been mentioned in the same breath as other legendary pop duos like the Pet Shop Boys, Wham, Eurythmics and Sparks.

Known for their signature mix of electronic collage music and manipulated audio-visual vocals, Flag boasts its lion's share of both as heard on the the seminal singles Tied Up, Blazing Saddles and The Race.

Their trans-global studio-trick-sound is a branch of music that defies categorization to this day. What can you possibly call a crossing of avant-garde pop, fake-rap and sound witchcraft with a headstrong mix of funk and humor, pre-techno and snappy woodwinds? You can call it idiosyncratic, eccentric and exceptional to start! 180g audiophile vinyl reissue from Music On Vinyl.

First Vinyl Issue Of Franz Waxman's Film Score To The Classic Bride Of Frankenstein Movie

    Includes Movie Poster

Ever since the classic Horror movie genre was at its peak during the pre-WWII era, Mary Shelley's The Bride Of Frankenstein (1935) starring Boris Karloff still remains the true cream of the crop. The black and white movie, directed by James Whale, is a prime example of how suspense meets great storytelling, the film's thriller elements making it a benchmark for many film directors.

Its score was written by Franz Waxman, the legendary German-American classic composer with an impressive number of Academy Award Nominations movies to his name. Waxman wrote engaging soundtracks for classic films such as Rebecca (1940), Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde (1941), Sunset Boulevard (1950), The Nun's Story (1959) and many more.

Revival Of Musical Is Currently Playing On Broadway At The Broadway Theatre

Based on Sholom Aleichem's stories about a poor milkman in late 19th century Russia, and the five daughters for whom he seeks significant weddings, this great musical, which opened at the Imperial Theatre on September 22, 1964, benefited from the portrayal of Zero Mostel as Tevye, and Jerome Robbins' splendid choreography in Boris Aronson's sets inspired by the paintings of Marc Chagall. In the profuse score created by Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick, If I Were A Rich Man stands out as the anthem of everyone looking for a better life. Before she became Mame's bosom buddy and a television Golden Girl, Bea Arthur played Yente, the matchmaker; and Maria Karnilova traded her stripper's outfit in Gypsy for the torn dress worn by Golde, Tevye's long-suffering and silent wife. Others who shone in the cast included Julia Migenes as Hodel; Bert Convy as Perchik, the student; Austin Pendleton, as Motel, the tailor; and Leonard Frey, as Mendel, the rabbi's son. Even though several actors (Herschel Bernardi, Luther Adler, Harry Goz, among others) played the milkman during the show's long run of 3,242 performances, Mostel's portrayal remains its supreme incarnation.

    The Head On The Door

The Head on the Door is the sixth studio album by British band The Cure, originally released in 1985 on Polydor. It was preceded by the single In Between Days which had reached No. 15 in the UK singles chart. The Head on the Door was depicted by the Melody Maker as a collection of pop songs. With its variety of styles, it allowed the group to reach a wider audience in both Europe and North America. In the UK, it quickly became their most successful album to date, climbing to #7 in the albums chart.

The album is the first to feature drummer Boris Williams. Bassist Simon Gallup, who had previously worked on three major Cure albums of the early 80's, was called back before the recording. In 1985, the band became a quintet with instrumentalist Porl Thompson as fifth official member. The Head on the Door is the first Cure album where all the songs are composed by singer and guitarist Robert Smith only.
