Transit Transit (Awaiting Repress)Transit Transit is the sophomore release by Autolux, the enigmatic Los Angeles-based trio whose debut, Future Perfect, was released to critical acclaim in 2004. Autolux (Carla Azar: vocals/drums, Greg Edwards: vocals/guitar, and Eugene Goreshter: vocals/bass) produced Transit Transit themselves with Edwards serving as engineer. It was recorded in the bands studio, Space 23, located near downtown Los Angeles.
There is a notable sonic progression throughout Transit Transit: vintage synthesizers and manipulated ambience glue central song components together, several tracks are built around piano, all three members take turns with lead vocals, harmonies are abundant, and there is even a bit of trumpet.
Ultimately, Transit Transit is propelled by its individual members strengths, coalescing into beautiful, complex songs. Goreshter continues to innovate his bass style, effortlessly modernizing the instruments melodic role, while still providing an on-edge rawness and groove-filled momentum. Edwards guitars serve to modulate the moods throughout the record, constantly evoking feelings found in the space between emotions. And Azars sturdy, creative drumming continues on record with plenty of hook beats, ferocious and delicate, at once.1. Transit Transit

Live At Third Man RecordsPerformance Recorded Direct-To-Acetate On March 26, 2016, At Third Man Nashville's Blue Room Venue
It's no stretch to say that Carla Azar is one of America's greatest living drummers. Intuitive, skilled, and perched quite comfortably on the extremely thin line between high energy and total entropy. All too often the title is heaped upon some goofball doing blast beats, rambling about breakdowns and power violence, all can easily be mistaken for the sounds of a scratched CD. Lucky for us and lucky for every pair of ears the whole world over, Third Man doesn't buy into that nonsense. And CDs? Scratched or brand spankin' new, they're not our preferred medium.
Hailing from Los Angeles, Autolux is comprised of singer/bassist Eugene Goreshter, drummer Azar, and guitarist/keyboardist Greg Edwards. The band formed in 2000 and has released two EPs and three LPs, including Pussy's Dead in 2016, shortly before this epic live show was recorded in the Third Man Blue Room. Their sound is peculiar and unmistakable, a collision of post-punk, noise, pop and electronica (Organica? Maybe!). Think cyborg whistling glitch-hop mash-ups. You get it? Haha! Nice!
Live records speak for themselves. This record speaks for itself. If you need us to say anything further, we're gonna need you to set this sheet down, free up both hands, use one to call your mom, keep her on the line, and use the other to hold her hand while she walks you toward the record bin housing something ''on your level,'' because apparently live music ain't your thing. But if you're still reading, it's because you clearly get it. Now go grip this record and see what the fuss is all about.1. Soft Scene

Pussy's Dead30th Century Records first signing, Los Angeles trio Autolux turned a new page before burning the book. Greg Edwards, Carla Azar and Eugene Goreshter have patiently maintained their commitment to experimentation- fearlessly transforming pop songs into pure sonic and emotional explorations.
Pussy's Dead, the band's follow up to Transit Transit, is a bold reunification. The mood is strange and inimitable while the drumming is a time machine: meeting funk in the future and remembering what rhythm can do.1. Selectallcopy

SLAVVESLAVVE is a three-piece band that originated in West Palm Beach, FL
in 2012. Though they have since relocated to Brooklyn, the trio has
deep roots in the music they've always loved. From ripping guitars
reminiscent of No Age and early Poison the Well to the melodic
heaviness of acts like Deftones and Autolux, SLAVVE started out as a
home project by vocalist/guitarist Chuka Chukuma. He then recruited
bassist Alex Goldstein and childhood friend Marcos Marchesani, a
former member of Surfer Blood and Weird Wives, to turn SLAVVE into
a fully-formed beast. Recorded in just two days, their self-titled debut
EP is a glimpse into the powerful, gripping force of what they call
"working class music." It spans issues of uncertainty within oneself
("Better Half"), the strange pride of self-loathing ("Pity Party"),
deception and frustration ("In Your Dreams"), and the futile nature of
trying to make something work when it just doesn't ("Out of Mind"). In a
world over-saturated with bands feeding into short-lived hype, SLAVVE
is paving its own way, staying true to the music they loved growing up
while looking ahead to carve their own landscape.!1. Pity Party!

30th Century Records Compilation Volume 1In the summer of 2015, Brian Burton (aka Danger Mouse) announced details about 30th Century Records, his imprint in collaboration with Columbia Records. The first release that comes from the world-renowned artist, songwriter, and producer is 30th Century Records Compilation Volume I, featuring eleven tracks of guitar-based brilliance.
A psychedelic mosaic with international scope, 30th Century Records Compilation Volume I, touches both future and classic sounds from the sun-drenched shores of Brazil to to the murky depths of Glasgow. Dan Auerbach's blistering riffage in The Arcs, and Autolux's arty experimentalism are featured alongside Sam Cohen's rough-hewn authenticity and emotive rockers from newcomers like Nine Pound Shadow and Waterstrider. Compiled by Danger Mouse, this album finds guitar music alive and well from the garage to the depths of space.
The compilation will also feature a brand new track from Autolux, who will release their forthcoming album via 30th Century Records in 2016, as well as an exclusive new track from Dan Auerbach's project, The Arcs.1. Club Noir - Apache Sun
