Pressed On 180 Gram Orange Colored Vinyl

In 1999 Polyvinyl, then only 3 years old, released an unassuming debut album by a band called American Football. The band played a dozen shows and then parted ways. Then something remarkable happened: for the next 15 years, the album was discovered over and over, going on to sell more than 100,000 copies and becoming one of the most influential indie/emo albums of all-time. In 2014 and 2015 American Football played their first shows in 15 years, selling out venues the world over. Organically, the band started to write new material, and years of ideas gelled into a picture-perfect second album set to be released 17 years after the first.

    Their / They're / There

Their / They're / There is the brainchild of Evan Weiss (Into It. Over it.), Mike Kinsella (Owen, Owls, Cap'n Jazz, American Football), and Matthew Frank (Loose Lips Sink Ships). This 6-song EP was recorded by Mark Michalik in Chicago (Into It. Over It., The Swellers).

With beautiful guitar parts that sound impossible to pluck with human hands, and drum lines that can only be described as classic post-punk Chicago beats, Their / They're / There have taken strengths from previous projects and poured them all into an exceptional debut release.

    Ghost Town

Ghost Town is the latest album from Mike Kinsella aka Owen. Kinsella is best known for his other
bands American Football and Capn Jazz and has developed a cult following as Owen.

Whereas previous Owen albums have been more somber affairs, touring with Capn Jazz in 2010 had a direct impact with the recording/writing of Ghost Town.

As a result, the album features some of Owens loudest, rock-leaning moments to date -- exemplified
by the forcefully crescendoing outro of I Believe and the screeching electric guitar solo in Everyones Asleep in the House but Me.

Owen is Mike Kinsella (American Football, Joan Of Arc, Cap'n Jazz). Previously only available as a CD EP and import-only 12-inch, this release contains the usual blend of beautiful acoustic work and wry lyrics fans have come to expect. Owen

In conjunction with the new (third) Owen album, "I Do Perceive" being released on both CD and LP, Polyvinyl is releasing the first two albums on vinyl as well. Following the disbandment of American Football, Mike Kinsella took that sound, stripped it down, and created Owen. On this debut, he wrote and performed everything himself. While retaining all the hooks and charms of his previous band, "Owen" is much more subdued and sparse than anything Mike had attempted before, resulting in a beautiful album that gained cult status.

Cap'n Jazz are an emo/punk band formed in the early 1990's in Buffalo Grove, IL by high school friends Tim Kinsella (vocals), Victor Villareal (guitar), and Sam Zurick (bass), along with Tim's younger brother Mike (drums). The group released their lone LP in the spring of 1995 and broke up while on tour later that summer. Members would continue making music in bands like The Promise Ring, Joan Of Arc and American Football.

Fueled by some of the members post-Cap'n Jazz activities, interest in the band grew after their break up and in 1998 Jade Tree Records compiled most of their recordings (which were all out of print) on to a double-disc release. This double LP re-issue will be pressed on 180-gram black vinyl for ultimate sound quality.

    Enola

When you're the main songwriter and driving force in a successful band, you often find yourself
creatively stifled. Your fans have certain expectations, and therefore you have an obligation to
deliver to them an album that meets their expectations, fits in their comfort zone, all while
growing and maturing as an artist. The problem with this is, true artists are capable of so much
more, music to them is an art, and the urge to create something new and exciting is something
that they can't suppress. Ace Enders found that success, both critically and commercially during
his tenure as the main songwriter of The Early November. The band went on to sell over 450,000
albums (3 of which sold over 100,000) And as much as Ace loved penning rock classics such as
Ever So Sweet and I Want To Hear You Sad, he wanted more, he wanted something different.
He wanted to be able to write songs that were more experimental, and creative. He wanted to
work in his own studio, on his own schedule and create songs that were truly important to him
and a pure reflection of who he was as an artist. These desires grew until they finally manifested
into I Can Make A Mess, Ace Enders' solo project.

I Can Make A Mess, isn't just a flash in the pan one off solo album. Over the past 9 years Ace
Enders has recorded 4 full length albums, he's had his songs in commercial movie trailers such as
Must Love Dogs and has toured the country with bands such as All American Rejects. His newest
masterpiece is titled Enola and it's set to come out June 11th 2013. The album is passionate,
and personal, experimental and honest, it's a must for fans of Bon Iver, Iron & Wine, Animal
Collective and American Football. I Can Make A Mess will be appearing on the entire 2013 Vans
Warped Tour, and will continue to tour through the fall. If you're looking for great songs, that are
a little out of your comfort zone, look no further.

How To Die In The North

Lost treasure needn't be found in the distant past; the 21st century hides many artists who disappeared into the great wide yonder. BC Camplight is one such example. The alter-ego of American songwriter Brian Christinzio released albums in 2005 and 2007, both gems of a certain psych-pop vintage, combining eloquent songwriting with a self-destructive bent. Christinzio certainly knew it - he's described himself as, "the guy who blew it."

But this sublime talent with the keening vocal and fearless approach to lyrical introspection has another chance. His new album 'How To Die In The North', recorded in his newly adopted home of Manchester, England, is a fantastically rich, stylistically diverse trip. From dramatic, layered pop to a haunted take on Sixties sunshine-pop, from blue-eyed soul to speedy surf-pop, from sparser piano balladry to psychedelic showstoppers and a grand finale that's part Nilsson and part Broadway showtune.

Originally from New Jersey, Christinzio started playing piano aged just four, inspired by his mum's Jerry Lee Lewis and Nilsson records and his Dad's classical collection. Depression and crippling hypochondria clashed with captaining the football team and a penchant for boxing. Post-school, he fell in with people, "willing to go through shit to be a musician," which saw him relocate to Philadelphia where he occasionally played live with Philly faves The War On Drugs and guested on Sharon Van Etten's album 'Epic'.

He's already done two sessions for long-term fan Marc Riley at BBC 6 Music, which featured Christinzio's band of Mancunians who he met at The Castle Hotel pub, a watering hole in the city centre particularly popular with musicians. Christinzio also heard John Grant's album on the jukebox there, which encouraged him to approach Bella Union. Grant's cocktail of depression and self-sabotage thwarted an outrageous talent, but he took his second chance. The same deserves to happen to Christinzio, a similarly outsize, sharp and funny personality with a non-conformist streak. Far from dying, BC Camplight has been reborn in the North!
