    The American Dream Died

Seminal NYC hardcore veterans AGNOSTIC FRONT, have changed the face of music throughout their 30-year long career. The two records that started it all, United Blood and Victim In Pain, are legendary New York hardcore release and were partially responsible for the creation of the hardcore genre itself. Now with their 11th studio album, The American Dream Died, the band has perhaps made their most aggressive album in recent years, while still embodying every era of their music. From crossover, to proto grindcore, to subtle oi influences; there's something for every AGNOSTIC FRONT fan. "Myself and the band has never felt so confident and passionate about a release," affirms vocalist Roger Miret. "It's full of anger, rage and honesty; all the makings of a classic! The session was really intense and the results show it all!

    All American Made (Pre-Order)

A lot can change in a year: markets boom and bust, trends come and go, presidents
get elected. In 2015, Margo Price was a country underdog just trying to keep
enough gas in the tank to get to the next gig, but by the end of 2016, she was one
of the genre's most celebrated new artists and a ubiquitous presence on late night
television and at major festivals around the world.

It's the kind of year most musicians can only dream of, and the arrival of Price's
spectacular sophomore album, "All American Made," proves that she hasn't taken a
moment of it for granted. Delivering on the promise of her debut and then some, the
record finds Price planting her flag firmly in the soil as a songwriter who's here for
the long haul, one with the chops to hang with the greats she so often finds herself
    sharing stages with these days.

A prolific writer with a knack for candid self-reflection, Price has never had to look
too far for inspiration, and on 'All American Made,' she and her songwriting partner/
husband, Jeremy Ivey, continue to depict the trials of everyday life with unflinching
honesty, painting poetically plainspoken portraits of men and women just trying to
    get by.

Highs and lows, long nights and hard days, wild women and cocaine cowboys,
politics and sexism, it's all in there, singularly filtered through Price's wry, no-bullshit
perspective. Throughout the album, her contemporary take on classic sounds is at
once familiar and daring, an infectious blend of Nashville country, Memphis soul,
and Texas twang that tips its cap to everyone from Waylon and Willie (who makes
a guest appearance) to Loretta and Dolly, all while flipping a middle finger to the
cookie-cutter pop that dominates modern country radio. Rich with swirling pedal
steel, honky-tonk rhythms, and Price's stop-you-in-your-tracks vocals, 'All American
Made' is deeply reverent of tradition even as it challenges conventions, a nuanced
exploration of conflicted emotions for our deeply conflicted times.

    N.A.P. North American Poetry

in 2000, Alberto Wauters left Uruguay to live in a basement in Queens. Two years later
he called his son, Juan, to join him. Juan Wauters crossed the threshold into manhood
when he arrived in New York. Working at a factory, the father and son pooled their
money to bring their family to the borough of opportunity. With no friends to speak of,
Juan turned to music to take control of the loneliness of his isolation. Juan was inspired
by his new neighborhood of Jackson Heights and delighted to find that his library card
gave him access to an abundance of new music.

In his debut solo record, N.A.P. North-American Poetry, Wauters dreams big; coming into
his own as a singer. Building on his songwriting, popularized by The Beets, Juan presents
introspective tracks, like Water and Sanity, and reflections on humans' relationship with
technology in songs like Breathing-which features Carmelle Safdie. The record is completed, as always, by the artwork of dear friend and longtime collaborator Matthew
Volz, who has honed the trademark visual aesthetic of Juan's music. This album is a
selection of recordings made between the fall of 2010 and the summer of 2012 at Marlborough Farms. N.A.P. delivers a fresh sound and lyrical candor from one of Queens'
    most idiosyncratic adoptive sons.

    Dreams

Dreams is a reissue of Chris Forsyth's second solo album. In 2009 Forsyth pressed up 100 LPs for a European tour and created quite an uproar of approval by the heads who managed to score a copy. Now available again, Dreams rightfully shows Forsyth at the creme of American guitarists who blend masterful skill of country/blues with sometimes violent aggression or mind-bending arrangements.

Dreams was recorded and mixed between 2007 and 2009 and catches Forsyth in the studio layering acoustic and electric guitars and organ with contributions from his guests, creating four pieces which are full of the raw power and intuitive delicacy that characterizes his live shows still. Dreams crosses free-wheeling minimalist rock balladry and anarcho- improv surrealism with a fearless approach to beauty in a deeply psychedelic landscape. It features contributions from his Peeesseye bandmates Jaime Fennelly (synth on one track) and Fritz Welch (drums and vocals on another) as well as the soaring trumpet work of Nate Wooley and organ, saxophone, and snare drum overdubs by another longtime collaborator of Forsyth's in Phantom Limb & Bison, Shawn Edward Hansen. This is Forsyth's second solo record, preceding Paranoid Cat, which was released by Family Vineyard earlier in 2011.

    Dream Weaver (Pure Pleasure)

The first studio date of the Charles Lloyd Quartet, with Keith Jarrett, Cecil McBee, and Jack DeJohnette, was recorded and released just a few days before the band took both the European and American festival circuits by storm. First came Europe, which was just getting the disc as the band was tearing up its stages. While the live dates are now the stuff of legend, it's easy to overlook the recordings, but to do so would be a mistake. Dream Weaver is a fully realized project by a band -- a real band -- in which each member has a unique part of the whole to contribute.

Jarrett's unusual piano style fits musically with Lloyd's lyricism in a way that it shouldn't. Jarrett was even then an iconoclast, playing harmonic figures from the inside out and relying on counterpoint to create new spaces, not fill them in. (Just listen to Autumn Sequence, where his solos and his backing harmonics are equally strident and inventive as Lloyd's Eastern explorations of mood and mode.) And then there's the rhythm section of McBee and DeJohnette, whose modal inventions on the intervals make the Dream Weaver suite an exercise in open time, allowing all players to wander around inside it and take what they want out. The set closes with a group party jam on Sombrero Sam, with Lloyd and Jarrett trading eights on a Cuban variation on a fantasia. There were no records like this one by new groups in 1966.

    Musicians:

    • Charles Lloyd (tenor saxophone, flute)
    • Keith Jarrett (piano)
    • Cecil McBee (bass)
    • Jack DeJohnette (drums)

    About Pure Pleasure

At the beginning of the 90s, in the early days of audiophile vinyl re-releases, the situation was fairly straightforward. Companies such as DCC, Mobile Fidelity, Classic Records and, of course, Pure Pleasure all maintained a mutual, unwritten ethical code: we would only use analogue tapes to manufacture records.

During the course of the present vinyl hype, many others have jumped on the bandwagon in the hope of securing a corner of the market. Very often they are not so ethical and use every imaginable source to master from: CDs, LPs, digital files, MP3s - or employed existent tools from the 80s and 90s for manufacturing.

A digital delay is gladly used when cutting a lacquer disc because tape machines with an analogue delay have become quite rare and are therefore expensive. When cutting the lacquer, the audio signal is delayed by one LP revolution against the signal, which controls the cutter head, and for this a digital delay is very often employed. Of course, the resultant sound signal is completely digital and thus only as good as this delay.

We should like to emphasize that Pure Pleasure Records on principle only uses the original master tape as the basis for the entirely analogue cutting of lacquer discs. In addition, the pressing tool is newly manufactured as a matter of principle.

We only employ existing tools for manufacturing if an improved result is not forthcoming, e.g. the title Elvis Is Back, which was mastered by Steve Hoffman and Kevin Gray, or several titles from our Philips Classics series, which in any case Willem Makkee cut from the original masters at the Emil Berliner Studios in the 90s. It goes without saying that we only used the mother and that new tools were made for our production.

To put it in a nutshell: we can ensure you that our releases are free from any kind of digital effects and that the lacquer discs are newly cut.

    The American Scene (Speakers Corner)

In 1967 T. A. McEwen, head of Classical Music at Decca in London, named three artists to whom he believed the company had a moral obligation: Ernest Ansermet, Renata Tebaldi, and Mantovani.

It may well be today that other names ought to be included in the list. However, it cannot be denied that in the early days of the Decca Record Company these three artists - like no others - made an immense contribution towards the company's market position and to its musical identity in particular.

Annunzio Mantovani was born in the traditionally musical city of Venice in 1905. At the age of only 23 he was director of the Hotel Metropole's own orchestra in London, and it was with this orchestra that he made his first recordings. It took 20 years, however, for him to become a world-famous star. The final breakthrough of the 'Mantovani Sound' came in 1951 with his waltz Charmaine which was produced for the American market.

This sound was utterly different from that of other entertainment orchestras at that time. Mantovani created such a lush and intense violin sound that that critics believed it was the result of recording tricks - an assumption that Mantovani easily disproved with his numerous concerts.

The album The American Scene demonstrates the whole spectrum of one of the 20th century's most genial arrangers : I Dream Of Jeanny is a wonderful exemple of the truly remarkable strings which is counterbalanced by such numbers as the sparkling Camptown Races for example. Arranging folk songs for large orchestra can be somewhat perilous in that they easily become insignificant but Mantovani is in no danger of this: the 'wall of sound' which he created with his orchestra is far too fascinating for that.

    Dreaming My Dreams

Remastered by Rob Santos, Waylon Jennings classic 1975 album Dreaming My Dreams is being reissued through Fat Possum Records. The album was co-produced with Jack Clement and recorded at Glaser Sound Studio in Nashville, Tennessee, between February and July 1974 and released in June 1975. Topping the Billboard's Top Country albums chart and peaking at number forty-nine on Billboard's Top LPs & Tapes chart, it became Jennings' first album to be certified gold by the RIAA. To top things off, he was elected 1975's Male Vocalist of the Year by the Country Music Association.

Tony Glover of Rolling Stone described Jennings as an ultimate performer. Comparing his studio recordings with his live performances, Glover said Jennings' work in the studio seems to aim more for the midnight mind. Billboard praised Jennings' blend of Country music with other genres. The review said,...the show belongs to Jennings' powerfully distinctive voice and the excellent production of the artist and Jack Clement. It called the recordings a solid mix of ballad and rockers, some straight country and lots that cannot be classified, and said Jennings is one of the few artists whose voice is immediately recognizable. Stereo Review praised the album, called Jennings one of the rare good singers capable of playing his own lead guitar, and called the instrumental breaks witty and surprising. The American Home delivered a favorable review, saying the release features fine interpretive material. Allmusic rated the album with five stars out of five, calling it [Jennings'] best album since Honky Tonk Heroes, and one of the few of his prime outlaw period to deliver from beginning to end.

Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams is the upcoming fourth studio album from American rock band Thirty Seconds to Mars.

The recording sessions for Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams took place from April to December 2012, at the Laboratory in Los Angeles, U.S.A.
In September 2012, The Summit, an event where fans are invited to contribute chorus vocals to tracks on the album and previously held to record choral vocals for This Is War in 2009, was held. Unlike This Is War, where an entire audience-sized crowd took part in the recording, the summit that took place for the recording of Love, Lust Faith and Dreams was more stripped-down and organic, with only 20 to 25 people contributing vocals to the record.

To follow up This Is War, the band began to work on their fourth studio album immediately after the conclusion of the Closer to the Edge Tour. Frontman Jared Leto wanted an album that has ebb and flow and content and structure., a sharp contrast to the band's previous work. Leto began writing for the album in December 2011, and by the time the band started the recording sessions for Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams in April 2012, he had amassed a total of 50 songs.

    Octavarium

Octavarium is the eighth studio album by American progressive metal band Dream Theater. Released on June 7, 2005, it was the band's final release with Atlantic Records. Recorded between September 2004 and February 2005, the album holds the distinction of being the last album ever recorded at The Hit Factory in New York City.

With Octavarium, the band decided to create a classic Dream Theater album, drawing upon their various stylistic influences while trying to make the music less complex. It was the first Dream Theater album to feature an orchestra. The album's structure was based around the concept of the musical octave. It consists mainly of lessons regarding various Catholic feasts.

Awake is the third studio album by American progressive Metal/Rock band Dream Theater and was originally released in 1994. After the success of Images And Words, Dream Theater was eager to work on fresh material and retreated to the studio in May 1994. John Purdell and Duane Baron produced, engineered and mixed the album. The album's cover was designed by the band and features numerous references to the album's lyrics. The album peaked at 32 on the US Billboard 200.

Awake was the last Dream Theater album to feature keyboardist Kevin Moore, who announced his decision to leave the band during the recording of the album. Dream Theater auditioned for keyboardists to replace Moore for the upcoming Awake world tour and eventually hired Derek Sherinian.

Lie, Caught in a Web and The Silent Man were released as singles. There is no title track on the album, but the lyric Awake appears in the songs Innocence Faded and The Silent Man.

    Hypnotized

Dream Police is an American musical production by Nick Chiericozzi and Mark
Perro. The project began in 2010 as a reservoir for ideas which had overflowed
from The Men's drainpipe. In that same year, a two-song cassette single was self-released, with a follow-up live document in 2011.

In the summer of 2013, The Men had just come home from five straight months
of touring. For Perro and Chiericozzi, the desire to create was still strong, so they
did what they used to do when they first started the band - they started jamming.

Although the production began using the most conservative rock n' roll devices,
Chiericozzi suggested adding drum machine to the song "Pouring Rain," and everything changed. Over the next six months, the two Men and their collaborator
Kyle Keays-Hagerman spent countless hours reshaping every song, constructing
them from nothing. They obsessed over every tone, every part. They'd spend an
entire day on one snare crack.

The album slowly plumed into a cloud of future primitive psychedelia bursting with glimmering electronics and cinematic, vibrato storytelling. The result
of that process is Hypnotized: something borne from The Men, but free of it. It
was mixed the weekend after Tomorrow's Hits was released, and then Perro and
    Chiericozzi were off again.

    Riot Now! (Awaiting Repress)

Riot Now!, Eleventh Dream Day's 10th album, is a call back to the urgency of 1988's Prairie School Freakout, with a string of mostly first takes tracked in one session with few overdubs. Rick Rizzo, Janet Beveridge Bean, Douglas McCombs and Mark Greenberg revel in their own mixture of melodic mayhem. The band, while always moderately active in Chicago have not released a record since 2006.

Their 2011 album cover depicts a check out line in a grocery store. A customer stands glibly in line wearing a shirt that says Riot Now! Overhead a security camera films, and customers move about with blank expressions. The cover and many of the songs are comments on the contradictions inherit in a desire for large scale social change while retaining all the creature comforts of prosperity. While this election has shown us that Americans have less patience, we are largely complacent and unable to take action beyond complaint.

    Lawless

First 1.000 pcs on Red Transparent vinyl!

    Includes 8 page booklet

Lawless is a brand new star studded movie by director John Hillcoat (The Road, The Proposition) about a gang of bootleggers in Virginia during the Great Depression. And when we say star-studded, we really mean it: Guy Pierce, Gary Oldman, Tom Hardy and Shia LeBoeuf signed up for the gritty and evocative story about brothers who try to create their own American Dream during Prohibition.

None other than Nick Cave helped Hillcoat with the screenplay, while he also took great care of the movie's soundtrack. Cave and fellow musician Warren Ellis form the core of The Bootleggers, a country and bluegrass ensemble that welcome a string of guests artist like Emmylou Harris, Ralph Stanley and Mark Lanegan. The Lawless OST contains cover versions of artists such as Velvet Underground and Captain Beefheart and also features original compositions by Cave/Ellis and the great Willie Nelson!

    Born In The U.S.A.

Ranked 86/500 On Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time

Mastered By Bob Ludwig Working Under The Supervision Of Springsteen & Engineer Toby Scott

Born in the U.S.A. is the seventh studio album by American rock singer-songwriter Bruce Springsteen. A critical and commercial success, it found Springsteen marking a departure in his sound. While its predecessor, the dark and acoustic Nebraska, featured songs of pessimism and isolation, Born in the U.S.A.'s lyrics expressed signs of hope in the daily fight of the ordinary American in following the American Dream, a new feeling complemented by synthesized arrangements and a pop-flavored, radio-oriented sound that helped Springsteen to extend his popularity and appeal to mainstream audiences.

    Hypnotic Eye

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are set to release a brand new album, Hypnotic Eye.

Their first studio album since 2010, Hypnotic Eye is the band's 13th studio album. It was co-produced by Petty, Mike Campbell, and Ryan Ulyate, reports Rolling Stone . Speaking to the publication about the album, Petty responded to comments that the release sounds like his earlier albums 1976's Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers and You're Gonna Get It from 1978.

That's what Mike said: 'You sing like you did on the first two albums, said Petty. Maybe this album does sound like that. But it's that band 30 years later... I knew I wanted to a do a rock and roll record. We hadn't made a straight hard-rockin' record, from beginning to end, in a long time.

The album will feature the songs American Dream Plan B, Faultlines, Red River, Burn Out Town and Shadow People. The release will be supported by a to-be-announced tour. Petty also commented that the band are far from finished. This band just grows and grows, and that's an incredible gift, I can't see us calling it off, he said.
