Alice In Chains'
Alice in Chains, one of the darkest bands to emerge from Seattle in the early 90's. Their 1992 album 'Dirt' was a milestone in the grunge-genre. Tuned down guitars with massive gloomy vocals courtesy of guitarist Jerry Cantrell and enigmatic vocalist Layne Staley proved a killer combination.
'Dirt' is one of those masterpieces that wasn't meant to be, as it was written while the band was on tour only to let their demons out.
After extensive tours with Ozzy Osbourne and Van Halen the album ended in the top 10 of Billboard. The album closes with the superb grunge anthem Would? which was also featured in the movie Singles
Unfortunately singer Layne Staley died of a drug overdose in 2002 which ended the band abruptly.
Alice in Chains returned to the forefront with a new album and singer in 2009. At the same time we offer the original and groundbreaking sound of Alice in Chains's Dirt on 180 grams audiophile vinyl.1. Them Bones

In 1996 Alice In Chains performed their first show in three years for MTV Unplugged. Unfortunately, it also turned out to be one of the last ones they would ever do, as lead singer Layne Staley's drug addiction was already getting the better of him. Visibly frail, he and band members Jerry Cantrell, Mike Inez and Sean Kinney still out-performed many of the other acts that crept in front of MTV's camera, making this one of the most legendary performances of the series. The band perform songs from both Facelift and Dirt albums as well as their critically acclaimed E.P. Jar Of Flies, creating new and exciting arrangements for their heavier songs while reinventing others. The tension and excitement in the audience is palpable throughout the entire show, and it makes this a fantastic record of the greatness of Alice In Chains.1. Nutshell

Music On Vinyl reissued ALICE IN CHAINS album DIRT.
Chronologically, that album fits right in between the two discs in this limited vinyl package, which
combines the JAR OF FLIES and SAP EPs.
SAP was originally released early 1992, half a year before DIRT came out. It features guest
appearances by Ann Wilson (Heart), Mark Arm (Mudhoney) and Chris Cornell (Soundgarden).
JAR OF FLIES was released in January 1994 and shows a side of the band that was unknown until then:
predominately acoustic songs and the use of instruments like the harmonica and a talk-box.LP 1

AbovePearl Jam + Alice In Chains + Screaming Trees = Mad Season. Includes 3 songs from mythical unfinished second album with NEWLY RECORDED vocals by Mark Lanegan.
Previously unreleased instrumental Interlude, Remixed version of John Lennon cover I Don't Wanna Be A Soldier, 180 Gram, 2LP gatefold
Think of the one-shot Seattle supergroup Mad Season as the grunge version of sober living. Guitarist Mike McCready, best known as the main six-string slinger in Pearl Jam, met bassist John Baker Saunders while in rehab, and the two paired with Screaming Trees' drummer Barrett Martin and Alice in Chains vocalist Layne Staley, partially in hopes of steering the singer onto the path of the straight and narrow. Ultimately, the plan didn't pan out, but for a brief while, the quartet -- who adopted the name Mad Season -- did have their moment of clarity, captured on the 1995 album Above. There was a single issued to modern rock radio -- River of Deceit -- but this record downplayed easy hooks and melody in favor of churning introspection and slow vamps that occasionally flirt with blues (the never-ending 12-bar Artificial Red, balanced by the distorto riffs of I Don't Everything), but usually conjure nothing more than the dank sludge of Seattle. Mad Season aren't quite mired in the darkest areas of grunge -- they're clever enough to let a saxophonist lend color to Long Gone Day -- but the lack of melodicism is a bit of a drag over the long haul, turning Above into a bit of heavy mood music. In a sense, it's the id of Seattle run rampant: all the bands involved, outside of Saunders' Walkabouts and Martin's Trees (who were nevertheless considerably more popular than Saunders' group), enjoyed commercial success in 1995, so they could have gotten away with anything and, in a sense, they did, as a major-label actually released this turgid bit of soul-baring heavy rock. McCready gets plenty of room for his elliptical guitar, the players has space to dig into their minor-key vamps, Staley essays his only set of completely original lyrics, but the whole thing feels kind of inert and indulgent, which may be appropriate for a band treating rock & roll as therapy.

UNIM-VIR-5918xAlice In Chains
Black Gives Way To BlueThe new Alice In Chains album Black Gives Way To Blue is the sound of a new beginning of a legendary band returning to life. Right from the albums powerful and deeply meaningful opener All Secrets Known through its redemptive closing title track, Black Gives Way To Blue, the first new Alice In Chains album in more than 14 years, is not just another rock reunion, but something far more inspiring.
Alice In Chains always was and always will be very much a band. So after taking a more than respectful break to mourn the loss of their brother and band mate Layne Staley, the surviving members of Alice In Chains, Jerry Cantrell, drummer Sean Kinney and bassist Mike Inez, gradually began to make music again. The band came together for the first time in 2005 to take part in a benefit for the victims of the tsunami in Indonesia.
The following year, Cantrell, Kinney and Inez decided that the time was right for Alice In Chains to reclaim its legacy again on tour. They did so with the help of a new guitarist and vocalist William DuVall, a gifted singer and player in his own right from Atlanta who previously worked with Neon Christ, Comes with the Fall, and as part of Jerry Cantrells touring band. As live audiences discovered, DuVall brings a sound and stage presence all his own. Yet when DuVall and Cantrell blend their voices, as Cantrell and Staley did so often, there could be little doubt that the spirit of Alice In Chains was once again alive and well.
Black Gives Way To Blue is the next step for a group that over the course of their career earned multiple Grammy nominations and sold more than 19 million albums worldwide and achieved 11 Top Ten singles. At the same time, the album offers the full, bracing impact of Alice In Chains, a band that kept heavy rock exciting at the dawn of the '90s and helped set the stage for an even grungier Seattle sound still clearly firing on all cylinders.
Recording on Black Gives Way To Blue began in October of 2008 at Dave Grohls Studio 606 in Northridge and finished at Henson Studios in Hollywood. The band produced the album with Nick Raskulinecz, whose past credits include Foo Fighters and Rush. Black Gives Way To Blue combines some classic Alice In Chains textures with a renewed sense of energy and possibility, from the epic and fantastically electric rocker A Looking In View to the exquisite and romantic ballad Your Decision to the albums stunning first single Check My Brain, a throbbing rocker in which a band associated with the Pacific Northwest makes a wry and witty observation on working and living in California.
Through Black Gives Way To Blue, there is a deep sense of the unique life that this band has lived, of Lesson Learned, to borrow the title of another standout track. In the end, the album offers a kind of shared group autobiography by a band that has survived so much. Together, they are in a way Last Of My Kind, to use the title of another album highlight penned by Jerry Cantrell, long a dominant songwriter within Alice In Chains, with lyrics from DuVall. Imitations are pale, DuVall and Cantrell sing together on Black Gives Way To Blue, a brand new Alice In Chains classic that really has it all; the brooding hurt, the brute force and the beautiful introspection.1. Paths To CharonFans of the current 1970's retro rock explosion can add another band to their list of pick-me-ups: Sweden's Skanska Mord are yet another Small Stone signee with a taste for the Nazareths and Atomic Roosters of old.
There is also something of the Seattle psychedelic scene in 'Paths To Charon'. Wah-wahing guitars (think Valis and Screaming Trees) open up the first track 'Dark Caves of Our Mind' on this sophomore record, while Jan Benggtson's bluesy howl owes a bit to the vocal work of Alice in Chains' Layne Staley and Soundgarden's Chris Cornell.
The band's lyrics range from the traditional doom'n'gloom of metal's pioneers, with tunes like the plodding 'A Black Day' making no bones about the terrible state of things, while 'Lords of Space and Time' and 'Alien Encounter' take the listener on excursions elsewhere. 'Laggasen' eases things back a bit for its intro, with some tootling keyboards parting briefly for some harder-edged guitar work.
Folks with Graveyard, Horisont and Kadavar on their playlist should check them out.

Uncle AnesthesiaAfter releasing three albums with Greg Ginn's underground label SST, Screaming Trees broke through in 1991 with Uncle Anesthesia on major label Epic. The band, fronted by Mark Lanegan (who would go on to collaborate solo with band members of Nirvana, Queens Of The Stone Age, Guns 'N Roses and Foo Fighters) is known for its raw psychedelic, whiskey voiced garage rock. This harder edge set the band apart from Seattle grunge contemporaries Alice In Chains and Soundgarden, gaining a loyal fanbase in the process. Includes Liner Notes And A Track-By-Track Description Of The Album's Music Written Especially For This Collection By Cameron Crowe, The Screenwriter And Director Of "Singles"
Epic Soundtrax and Legacy Recordings, the catalog division of Sony Music Entertainment, will celebrate the 25th anniversary of Cameron Crowe's groundbreaking romantic comedy, "Singles," with the release of a newly expanded and remastered edition of the Singles: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack album.
The 2xLP edition features the album's original 13 tracks newly mastered and freshly pressed across four sides of collectible 12 vinyl. The bonus CD of rarities and unreleased tracks is included as a special insert in the 2xLP 12 vinyl package.
The newly released bonus CD features previously unreleased recordings by Chris Cornell, Mike McCready, Mudhoney, and Paul Westerberg in addition to rarities such as Cornell's 1992 EP Poncier (debuting an early rendition of "Spoonman") and tracks from the film not included on the best-selling soundtrack album first released on June 30, 1992. The success of "Singles" helped establish a then-emerging new generation of rock artists-including 2017 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Inductees Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains and Soundgarden-as musical forces to be reckoned with.
The expanded edition of the "Singles" soundtrack includes, for the first time on CD, "Touch Me I'm Dick," the signature track from "Singles" performed by Citizen Dick (a fictional band created for the film featuring frontman Matt Dillon backed by Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder, Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament).
The new Epic Soundtrax/Legacy Recordings edition of the Singles: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack includes liner notes-and a track-by-track description of the album's music-written for especially for this collection by Cameron Crowe, the screenwriter and director of "Singles." The newly expanded edition of the film's soundtrack is produced by Danny Bramson and Cameron Crowe and mastered by Mike Piacentini at Battery Studios, New York.
Set in Seattle at the beginning of the 1990s, Crowe's film featured music by relatively obscure (at that time) bands like Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains and Soundgarden, providing an introduction to an emerging grunge rock music scene for a welcoming mainstream audience. The film became a cult classic while the soundtrack achieved RIAA double platinum status in the US.
A romantic comedy capturing the zeitgeist of an era, "Singles" helped define the look, sound, attitude and style of Generation X with a fresh-faced ensemble cast featuring Bridget Fonda, Campbell Scott, Kyra Sedgwick, Matt Dillon, Bill Pullman, Sheila Kelly, Jim True-Frost, James LeGros, Ally Walker, Jeremy Piven, Eric Stoltz, Tim Burton and more.
Crowe's groundbreaking film chronicling the lives of Seattle's twentysomethings touched a nerve in the culture while the movie's best-selling soundtrack-with tracks from new artists and classic rockers-provided a critical overview of the roots of grunge and the essential contributions of Seattle rock. Alongside new songs like Alice In Chains' "Would?" and Pearl Jam's "Breath" and "State of Love and Trust" stood the Jimi Hendrix Experience's "May This Be Love" and a breathtaking cover of Led Zeppelin's "The Battle of Evermore" performed by The Lovemongers (a musical side project created by Heart's Ann Wilson and Nancy Wilson).
The first edition of the Singles: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack was originally released on June 30, 1992 and became a chart-topping best-seller three months prior to the theatrical release of the film. The soundtrack included music from key bands from the Seattle music scene-including Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden-while Paul Westerberg, in his first solo recordings outside The Replacements-contributed two songs and provided the score for the film. Smashing Pumpkins were also featured on the soundtrack with the song "Drown."
"The album itself was always designed to be sort of an anti-soundtrack, more like a souvenir and a simple mix-tape of some of Seattle's finest," said Cameron Crowe. "It really is and was a tribute to those hard-working bands that welcomed me to their city with open arms, and the music so many still love so much. Anyway, here we are now revisiting 'Singles,' the film, as well as the soundtrack you hold in your hands, expanded with a special tip of the hat to the fans of the original release. Included are unreleased and raw elements that helped shape the experience of making the movie back in 1991. Hope you enjoy the trip back as much as I did - Viva Seattle!"
25 years ago, the film "Singles" and its soundtrack worked together to bring the underground Seattle music scene to the forefront of mainstream consciousness. The album was among the first top-selling movie soundtracks of the 1990s to showcase new material from emerging contemporary bands. The expanded edition of Singles: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack is cause to celebrate anew the radical rock sounds that radiated out of the American Northwest a quarter century ago and changed pop music forever.LP 1

Jerry Cantrell is an American musician who is best known as the lead guitarist, co-lead vocalist and main songwriter for the rock band Alice in Chains. He also has a solo career and released the albums Boggy Depot in 1998 and Degradation Trip in 2002.
Cantrell noted in an interview that he was raised on country music as a youth and that he admires the emotion conveyed in the genre. However, hard rock music caught his interest predominantly, and he bought his first guitar in his mid-teens. It would not be until the age of 17 that he began seriously playing the instrument. Cantrell would later cite guitarists such as Ace Frehley, Tony Iommi, Angus Young, Jimmy Page, and Eddie Van Halen as major influences. Cantrell's career outside Alice in Chains has not only consisted of two solo albums, but also many appearances with other musicians and on film soundtracks.
Degradation Trip is the second and to date, final solo album by Jerry Cantrell, originally released in 2002. On the album, Cantrell enlisted drummer Mike Bordin (Faith No More) and bassist Robert Trujillo (Suicidal Tendencies, Ozzy Osbourne). The album was dedicated to Alice in Chains lead singer Layne Staley, who died two months before the album's release. Degradation Trip featured two singles and was well received by critics, faring better than Cantrell's solo debut and bearing strong resemblance to his work in Alice in Chains.
A hallmark of Cantrell's style, many unorthodox rhythms and time signatures are exhibited throughout the album as well as heavy use of wah-wah guitar effect and choir-like vocal harmonies.
The album's grungy heaviness is balanced, however, by moody acoustic ballads such as the somber Angel Eyes. Serene, tangy guitar riffs featured in the likes of Gone elude more to Cantrell's Southern roots.LP 1

Disillusion (Awaiting Repress)O'Brother return with their sophomore studio album Disillusion, The band ventured out of their hometown of Atlanta, GA to the bitter cold of Long Island this past winter to hole up in the studio with engineer/producer Mike Sapone (Brand New, Public Enemy, Daytrader). The result is a heavier, refined follow-up to the band's critically acclaimed 2012 debut Garden Window which the Wall Street Journal's Jim Fusilli described as, " a brutalizing blend of
industrial rock, alt-metal and metal featuring a three-guitar attack ." In addition the album
had both Guitar World and Decibel comparing them to Radiohead and the Melvins and Consequence of Sound threw in Queens of the Stone Age and Tool comparisons, summing things up with " Garden Window feels really fucking loud, and does this really fucking well ."
After wrapping things in the studio, the band hit the road this spring with the legendary Alice In Chains for a stint of support dates and along the way, appeared at a number of festivals including
Rock on the Range and Rocklahoma. In the past three years, they have been on countless national tours, sharing the stage with Manchester Orchestra, The Dear Hunter, Cage the Elephant, Alice In Chains, Thrice, Caspian, and Circa Survive along with a handful of headlining tours. To celebrate Clerks 20th anniversary the soundtrack will be pressed to vinyl for the first time ever! Clerks is the 1994 soundtrack album to the film of the same name. The original soundtrack's mix of dialogue from the movie (''I'm not even supposed to be here today!'') and tunes by some of the leading groups of the alternative era will now play out across three sides of two LPs - the final side will contain an etching. The soundtrack features songs by Alice in Chains, Girls Against Boys, the Jesus Lizard, Bad Religion, Soul Asylum, Corrosion of Conformity, Stabbing Westward and more. It also features songs by Love Among Freaks, friends of Smith's who visit the convenience store in the movie and who scored the original soundtrack for the movie.
Famously, the cost of licensing the songs on the soundtrack cost more than the film cost to make. The movie helped make Alice in Chains' 1992 Sap EP tune ''Got Me Wrong'' a hit, and the Kevin Smith-directed clip for Soul Asylum's ''Can't Even Tell,'' which closes out the movie, propelled it to Number 16 on Billboard's Alternative Songs chart.LP1 - Side A

DustScreaming Trees is considered to be one of the Godfathers of Grunge. Although they were one of the best 'Seattle-bands' of the early nineties, they never achieved the commercial success of bands like Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Alice in Chains.
Founded in 1985, the band had to wait till 1992 for their biggest commercial success, the release of 'Sweet Oblivion'. 'Dust' is their seventh and final album originally released in 1996. In contrast to the group's previous recordings that were more influenced by psychedelic rock and punk, 'Dust' is equally influenced by folk and blues, while still retaining a harder-edged sound. After this album The Screaming Trees disbanded.
Lead singer Mark Lanegan started a very successful solo career, working with the likes of Queens of the Stone Age, Greg Dulli (Afghan Wigs), Isobel Campbell (Belle & Sebastian) and UNKLE.Side 1

In the early '90s, Life of Agony was a straight-up Hardcore Metal band. They built up a loyal following with their debut River Runs Red, by incessant touring and word of mouth, with little MTV or radio airplay. On their second album, 1995's Ugly, the band chose a different musical path - they melded their Hardcore with the melodic Alternative Rock of Stone Temple Pilots and Alice In Chains.
Longtime fans or the record-buying public were mildly aroused, and the group was now faced with a new dilemma; should they stay true to their newly decided musical direction, or conform to their fans' expectations of what Life of Agony's music should sound like? The group chose to stick to their guns and do what their hearts told them to on Soul Searching Sun.

EvanescenceThe self-titled, third studio release from Evanescence, produced by Grammy-winning Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Alice in Chains, Rush), contains the hard-driving anthems and introspective ballads the hard rock group has mastered since their breakout debut in 2003. The 12 tracks demonstrate the growth of the band's writing style and lyrical content.
Frontwoman Amy Lee says, It's about freedom, when describing the album's first single, the hard-charging,What You Want. Other songs include Lost in Paradise, which Lee calls, The most intimate song on the album and My Heart is Broken, a track driven by Lee's signature lyrics and piano playing.
Backed by the heavy guitar sound of Terry Balsamo and pounding drums of Will Hunt, the new album is powerful and aggressive. We've been working on this music for a very long time and seeing it all finally come together is a really amazing feeling. Lee continues, This album is about us and also our fans. Sals partner in crime on And Hell Will Follow Me is Matt Brown, sound engineer extraordinaire and guitarist of fellow NY band Seventh Void.
The chemistry between me and Matt is unique and flawless, very rare in todays music. We are the murdering evil version of Lennon and McCartney. says Abruscato. Brown adds, Sal asked me if I would help to take these songs to the next level. I took on this project for my friend, to find some closure in rough times. The music is just an extension of our friendship and our passion for creativity.
The album artwork was done by Sam Shearon aka Mr. Sam, who has previously done work for Rob Zombie, Fear Factory and Cradle of Filth to name a few, and features a 20 page booklet with artwork for each individual song. Additionally, the Double LP version will feature a never before heard bonus track called Pick Up Truck.
To top that all off, Life of Agonys Keith Caputo lent background vocals to four tracks and Lou Reeds saxophonist Ulrich Krieger guests on Die Alone. Bobby Hambel from Biohazard, who also plays with the band live, played the guitar leads on three tunes.1. And Hell Will Follow Me

The Tel-Star Sessions

The Mule's previously unreleased original recordings from 1994 are coming!
In early summer of 1994, while on break from Allman Brothers work, the original Mule line-up of Warren Haynes, Allen Woody, and Matt Abts assembled at Tel-Star Studios outside Sarasota, Florida, to lay down on tape their vision to exhume the rock power trio - their influences ranging from Cream and Jimi Hendrix Experience to Blue Cheer and ZZ Top.
Says Warren, "Allen Woody had plenty of ideas in that department -- starting with simultaneously bringing back the 'rock bass' sound. Along with our discussions about the 'power trio' being missing from the current musical landscape were the discussions of how the sound of the bass guitar had gotten progressively 'cleaner' since the '80s (or late '70s), and how that affected the overall feeling of the music. So, when we went in to the studio to do our first recording sessions, part of our mission was to capture an old familiar sound as well."
What resulted from those sessions was the key soundscape of the band's rawness and excitement that Mule fans will love: straight-ahead rock- and blues-based song structures, explorative but tight and tough as a clenched fist. And while their search for that old familiar sound bore great creative fruit, these recordings also reflect the times in which they were recorded: there are interesting Soundgarden- and Alice In Chains-like musical references to grunge and the alternative rock sound that emerged from the early and mid-'90s.1. Broken LinesWith 5 Grammy nominations and 2 wins; Golden Gods, Kerrang! And VH1 awards; headlining slots in many major festivals and countless Top 10 albums and singles, the members of Giraffe Tongue Orchestra are ready to re-write the rules of the successful rock 'super-group.' Comprised of William DuVall of Alice In Chains, Ben Weinman of Dillinger Escape Plan, Brent Hinds of Mastodon, Pete Griffin of Dethklok and Thomas Pridgen of The Mars Volta, Giraffe Tongue Orchestra has created an album akin to classic cinema. Their innovative debut record, BROKEN LINES, is being released through Party Smasher Inc / Cooking Vinyl. The name itself represents strength and ingenuity per guitarist, Brent Hinds, "During the time Mastodon was there for Soundwave, I was at the zoo in Sydney, Australia and was checking out the giraffes. They are amazing animals - one just grabbed a bunch of bananas from my hand with its tongue and peeled them with it as well - by the time the bananas got to its mouth, they were ready to be eaten. I saw Ben who was at Soundwave too and said 'Man I think I found the name for our band,' and told him the story." Ben adds "That giraffe made it happen like us, he figured it out."1. URPD-SMA-134xMother of God
Anthropos''Woke up at dawn and felt a presence, nature spirits, observing me. Looked out through the window. Black shape. I went to the nearby forest and the journey had begun.Without a direct way, I went through the woods and crossed mountains. Suddenly elated by light, I was under the raven's wings. Numb. Awakened by a thud and the silhouettes of the three. Embrace. The circle was complete.'' -- Mother of God
Born in 2008 and raised on rock in Morgårdshammar, Sweden, the four-piece Mother of God cast off a lot of the retro '70s mentality of their countrymen in favor of a more modern approach.Well, 20 years more modern, anyway. Mother of God no doubt have some appreciation for the finer things in '70s rock - there are beards to prove it - but musically they incorporate influences from grunge and the heavy grooves of the early '90s. Bands like Soundgarden and Alice in Chains mesh their downtrodden grunge melodies alongside classic inspiration drawn from Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin.
These might sound like familiar elements - at least the names ring out - but Mother of God bring their own emotional spin to their Small Stone debut, Anthropos, and never quite cooperate with what you think they'll do next. The band has released two prior EPs - 2011's Forging a New Path and their debut - and they recorded and mixed Anthropos in BorlÄnge with Erik Nerback, Chris Goosman mastered, and Sanna Albenius, Robin Gnista and Alexander von Wieding provided art and layout design.
In addition to festival appearances at Getaway Rock, Wacken Open Air in Germany and Peace & Love, Mother of God have shared the stage with YOB, Dozer, Graveyard, Imperial State Electric and more, and they'll look to continue their live domination in Scandinavia and beyond in support of Anthropos, shoving their eclectic sound and undeniable hooks right in the faces of everyone who thinks they know what heavy rock should sound like.1. 2 3 0

Above & Down BelowAeges second full length album, Above & Down Below, sees them galloping confidently over any notion of a sophomore slump. Expanding upon the foundation of the sound that already drew influence from the 90s post-hardcore era, the new record mixes that same heavy edge of Quicksand with the more melodic heavy rock sheen of Soundgarden, Alice In Chains and Queens of the Stone Age. The album was mixed and mastered by Matt Hyde (Deftones, Slayer, Behemoth) at his home studio. Casey Howard (Mastodon, Deftones, The Mars Volta) handled the art direction, design and layout for the album.1. Echoes

In Cool BloodChain & the Gang are singers Ian Svenonius, Katie Alice Greer, and other musicians including Brett Lyman (M'Lady's records), Fiona Campbell (Coasting, Vivian Girls), Chris Sutton Hornet Leg), Madison Farmer (Coasting), and Fred Thomas (Swim Suit, Saturday Looks Good To Me).
Chain & the Gang have grown up in the crevices and the cracks of society, not due to the hi-octane nurturing of main-stream media and corporate wizards, but in spite of them. They make their version of call and answer rock 'n' roll to fill a yawning chasm in music where fun, personality, charm, and content fit in.
With songs like Surprise Party, Heavy Breathing and Certain Kinds of Trash, Chain & the Gang's punk spirit is as natural as falling off a log, and emits the pure expression of a feral child with finger paint. The record is called In Cool Blood because Chain & the Gang are premeditatedly burying all bogus elements with a dirt heap of sonic primitivitism and verbal ingenuity.1. Hunting For Love
