    ABC 1974 (Black Vinyl)

The history of the ever mighty Rush goes back to 1968 when the group first got together, but it was not until 1974 that the band proper with Neal Peart joining Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson to make for the line-up we have known and loved ever since came to the fore.

Peart joined just two weeks before Rushs first US tour and it was during this American jaunt that the guys played the infamous Agora Ballroom, Cleveland - a venue at which the group would go onto play numerous more shows during their formative years.

At their 1974 booking however, radio station WMMS radio was on hand to broadcast the whole event across the airwaves and thus make this particular gig a somewhat notorious event as well as being Rushs very first radio broadcast

The set played by the group that hot August evening in Americas dark industrial underbelly, includes songs from their debut album, Rush, and features two early versions of cuts from their sophomore record, Fly by Night

The show also contained a cover of Larry Williams Bad Boy a 1950s rocker and no mistake - plus incredibly, two excellent tracks that have never been released on any previous Rush release; the super-rare Fancy Dancer and Garden Road, both composed in their very earliest incarnation before Neal Peart was on board

The package is completed by three bonus tracks from their second US broadcast, back at the ABC a year later, and again courtesy of their by then long time champions, WMMR Cleveland

All three songs from the 75 set originated on Fly By Night

Jonathan Jackson is a five-time Daytime EMMY Award-winning actor for his role in General Hospital, and currently stars in the ABC primetime drama Nashville. Jonathan is also known for his roles in film, including Columbia's Deep End of the Ocean Disney's Tuck Everlasting and Warner Bros. Insomnia.

The foundations of Jonathan Jackson and his band Enation started with brothers Jonathan and Richard Jackson. Having been raised in Battle Ground, WA they moved to Hollywood, CA to pursue careers as actors at the ripe ages of 10 and 13. Music was in their blood, as their father Ricky Lee Jackson was a Nashville recording country music artist. Jonathan picked up the guitar and began writing songs and Richard had been playing drums since elementary school. Sibling rivalry turned into a synergy of complementary talent as the brothers began to play music together over the ensuing years, culminating in the partnership that is currently Enation along with longtime friend bass player Daniel Sweatt. The band spent the past year recording Radio Cinematic in Nashville, TN. Richard is also an actor who has appeared in film and television, most recently in Grimm.

Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music

Less modern for its country-R&B blend (Elvis Presley and company did it in 1955) and lushly produced C&W tone (the Nashville sound cropped up in the late '50s) than for its place as a high-profile crossover hit, Modern Sounds in Country and Western fit right in with Ray Charles' expansive musical ways while on the Atlantic label in the '50s. In need of even more room to explore, Charles signed with ABC Paramount and eventually took full advantage of his contract's full artistic freedom clause with this collection of revamped country classics.

Covering a period from 1939 to the early '60s, the 12 tracks here touch on old-timey fare (Floyd Tillman's It Makes No Difference to Me Now), honky tonk (three Hank Williams songs), and early countrypolitan (Don Gibson's I Can't Stop Loving You). Along with a Top Ten go at Eddy Arnold's You Don't Know Me, the Gibson cover helped the album remain at the top of the pop charts for nearly three months and brought Charles international fame. Above a mix of swinging big band charts by Gerald Wilson and strings and choir backdrops from Marty Paich, Charles' intones the sleepy-blue nuances of country crooners while still giving the songs a needed kick with his gospel outbursts. No pedal steel or fiddles here, just a fine store of inimitable interpretations.

    13 Never-Before-Released LIVE Recordings!

In the years immediately prior to the British Invasion, only one performer rivaled the chart dominance of Elvis Presley, and that was Pat Boone. With his trademark white buck shoes, perfectly combed hair and gleaming smile, Boone was the very essence of wholesome American values, and at a time when the rise of Rock 'n Roll was viewed as a sign of the Apocalypse, he made the music appear safe and non-threatening, earning some 38 Top 40 hits in the process. In 1957 Pat Boone began hosting his own ABC television series, The Pat Boone Chevy Showroom. The half-hour variety show aired from October 3, 1957 to June 23, 1960 and featured the young star [at the time the youngest person to host their own network variety program] and a host of top-name guest stars. In all, there were 115 episodes.

In this special collection of never-before-released LIVE recordings, Pat has hand picked 13 memorable performances that pay tribute to some of the best music and entertainers of that time.

You Don't Mess Around With Jim (Awaiting Repress)

Jim Croce was one of the premier architects of the singer/songwriter movement in the early '70s, and during his much revered musical career, he managed to successfully cultivate his story telling, humor and heartfelt thoughts and heartbreak into some of the most memorable songs and melodies ever recorded in our lifetime. His legendary ABC recordings are the soundtrack to a generation of music enthusiasts that continues to this day and will forever stand the test of time.

Growing up in the Philadelphia suburb of Upper Darby, PA, Jim Croce graduated high school and soon found local success as a folk-singer during his college days. In those earlier years, he met his future wife and musical partner Ingrid Croce, and together they began touring the coffee house circuit throughout the '60s into the early-'70s.

After a few short lived careers in radio advertising, as well as being a truck driver and welder, Jim Croce was determined to score a hit recording career and went out as a solo artist, teaming up with his lead guitarist Maury Muehleisen. Friends Tommy West and Terry Cashman were soon a part of the mix as producers, and the hit records soon followed. His debut ABC Records single and album You Don't Mess Around With Jim were a huge success for this legendary performer.

Known for his uncanny ability to connect with his fans with his simple tales of love, heartbreak and good time feel good songs, this multi-platinum album raced to the top of the charts in no time. Spearheaded by the country rock title track, the album was buoyed with even more success as the brilliant Operator (That's Not The Way It Feels) hit a chord in the hearts of his new legion of fans across the globe.

Whether standout tracks like his classics Photographs And Memories, New York's Not My Home or his masterpiece Time In A Bottle, Croce's You Don't Mess Around With Jim album has surely earned its currency over the years as one of the more important albums of the classic singer/songwriter era. After several more smash hit recordings and a massive worldwide following, Time In A Bottle was featured a year later in the made for television movie She Lives! which added to the further success of his classic You Don't Mess Around With Jim album.

A few weeks later, Croce along with guitarist Muehleisen and several others were tragically killed in a small plane crash on September 20, 1973. The music world was in shock as one of its newest stars, a true original, the great Jim Croce, his life was cut short way before his prime. Radio and retail outlets were flooded with fan support as a race to buy this album, which became a lasting tribute to the artistry and memory of this legendary performer.

Friday Music now ushers in the Jim Croce Friday Music 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl Series with their first installment of his monumental pop/rock classic You Don't Mess Around With Jim. Mastered impeccably by Joe Reagoso from the original tapes at Friday Music Studios with Kevin Gray, the You Don't Mess Around With Jim album is truly one of the more anticipated audiophile vinyl releases of 2012. Includes the rare gatefold cover with lyrics and photos from the original 1972 release!

    The American Metaphysical Circus

The American Metaphysical Circus is a 1969 psychedelic album by Joseph Joe Byrd. It was recorded after his departure from the band The United States of America, and featured some of the earliest recorded work in rock music utilizing extensive use of synthesizers and vocoder, along with an extended group of West Coast studio musicians Byrd named The Field Hippies.

The album is most noted for The Sub-Sylvian Litanies, which opened Side A. This three-part suite has been described as an entire acid trip in 11 minutes. Other album highlights include the equally psychedelic The Elephant at the Door, and the politically charged Invisible Man, written for and aimed squarely at President Lyndon B. Johnson. Two of the more unusual tracks on the record are Mister Fourth of July - a ragtime tune complete with scratchy 78RPM-style effects, and Leisure World, featuring narration from long-time ABC voice-over and Ghoulardi originator Ernie Anderson in an ode to California's first retirement mega-community.

Among the musicians featured on the record are prominent West Coast studio musicians Tom Scott and the late Ted Greene, who is credited with the album's stellar guitar work in one of his few recorded appearances. Meyer Hirsch was a member of the Buddy Rich Big Band and is an experimental composer. Vocalist Victoria Bond has gone on to a prominent career as a classical composer, conductor and vocalist. Fred Selden, a student of Byrd's at UCLA, joined the Don Ellis Orchestra (led by Byrd's partner in the UCLA New Music Workshop), received a Grammy nomination, and later returned to UCLA to receive his Ph.D.

The extensive use of effects, delays, echoes, backwards vocals and other recording tricks and techniques are reminiscent of some of the experiments and work carried out by George Martin as well as Pink Floyd. Byrd in fact referenced Martin in a 2004 interview

    The Outsiders

One of music's most electrifying entertainers and prolific songwriters, EMI Records Nashville's Eric Church, releases his fourth studio
album, the aptly titled, THE OUTSIDERS. The release is the follow-up to his CMA and ACM Album of the Year, CHIEF, which has gone
on to sell over 1.5 million records and produce two No. 1 singles, "Drink In My Hand" and "Springsteen" and three Top 10 hits since it's June 2011
    release.

Church shared the news exclusively with Associated Press' Chris Talbott remarking, I'm interested to see what people think about them. I always say the
songs are mine till the moment we release them, then they're the fans' (songs). I'm very anxious. I have a lot of anxiety to see what people think about
    what we've done."

Church performed the album title and lead single, "The Outsiders," on The 47th Annual CMA Awards, airing live on ABC Television on Wednesday, Nov.
6, where he was nominated for two CMA Awards this year: Male Vocalist and Musical Event of the Year (with Jason Aldean and Luke
Bryan for "The Only Way I Know"). The song is an ode to the manner in which Church and his fans have built his career, as an inclusive group together
fighting to have his music heard.

Jay Joyce once again joins Church for production and songwriting collaborations. Church started writing for the release in 2012 while on his arena tour,
Blood, Sweat & Beers Tour. Talbott notes, "Some of the most striking moments [on THE OUTSIDERS] would seem odd to your local program director.
There's a dark trilogy, for instance, that includes a dramatic recitation of the Shel Silverstein poem 'The Devil and Billy Markham.' 'Roller Coaster Ride'
actually feels just like one. And album-closer, 'The Joint,' is an oddly affecting cross of Tom Waits and J.J. Cale."
