RCA Living Stereo Classical LPs - The Gold Standard For Top Quality Orchestral Performance And Sound!

Remastered And Cut At 33 1/3 RPM By Ryan Smith At Sterling Sound

Lacquers Plated By Gary Salstrom And Pressed On 200-Gram Vinyl At Quality Record Pressings!

Grade A+. Another one of HP's favorites, this LP (at least in its earliest pressings) is famously wonderful sounding, and the Analogue Productions version certainly lives up to the hype. Once again string tone - and this disc is celebrated for its string tone - is ravishingly beautiful. The bass is astonishingly deep and authoritative. And the dynamics are tremendous. In sum, I highly recommend all of these celebrated RCAs in their Analogue Productions reissues. They will cost you $30 a disc, which is a more-than-fair price considering that they are, IMO, uniformly superb (yes, better than the Classic Record versions). - Jonathan Valin, The Absolute Sound.com, June 11, 2013

We compared this new 200-gram, 33 RPM LP from Analogue Productions with the original RCA Living Stereo issue and Classic Records' 33 RPM version, and were surprised at the outcome. Why? Because to these ears, the new Analogue Productions version was the more relaxed and natural sounding of the bunch. The sound is as it should be, inviting the listener into the music and entirely constant with Reiner's readings. ... If ever there were a must-have LP in the recent wave of audiophile vinyl reincarnations, this is it. Treat yourself and thank (Analogue Productions' Chad) Kassem for doing it the justice it deserves. - Harry Pearson, HP Soundings, May 2013.

Without a doubt, the AP pressing sounds much more natural than the Classic Records reissue; the sound is simply less forced, as if the notes and rhythms have more air to explore, more ambient Hall to reverberate, and more of the acoustic envelope to reveal. ... the vinyl is so damn quiet, you can turn it up without any hesitation ... The solo violin is the heart of this recording and it's supposed to sound seductive, and on this reissue, it does. One thing if for certain, there is a lot more information coming through than on the original. The AP pressing takes the simplistic approach of the Chesky, but with a more developed sound, making the Chesky appear a bit more subdued by comparison. ... If you are interested in hearing this classic RCA in all of its natural glory, you needn't look any further than Chad Kassem's latest offering. If this is any indication of Analogue Production's current batch of RCA reissues (approximately 24 more on the way), it just may be a new golden age for the modern vinyl listener. - Joey Weiss, HP Soundings, May 2013

The second movement is just ravishing in the beauty of the Chicago's playing and Reiner's romantic approach; there is some staccato triple-tonguing done by trumpeter Adolph Herseth in the fourth movement that should leave you, if not him, breathless. But let is just be said that, after you hear this, no other Scheherazade will ever replace it in your affections. HP's The Golden Dozen LPs - Harry Pearson, The Absolute Sound, June/July 2007

The jewel in the Living Stereo crown. This, like the Respighi, is considered one of the very best LPs by Reiner, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and RCA's crew. Another Mohr and Layton classic.

    N.A.P. North American Poetry

in 2000, Alberto Wauters left Uruguay to live in a basement in Queens. Two years later
he called his son, Juan, to join him. Juan Wauters crossed the threshold into manhood
when he arrived in New York. Working at a factory, the father and son pooled their
money to bring their family to the borough of opportunity. With no friends to speak of,
Juan turned to music to take control of the loneliness of his isolation. Juan was inspired
by his new neighborhood of Jackson Heights and delighted to find that his library card
gave him access to an abundance of new music.

In his debut solo record, N.A.P. North-American Poetry, Wauters dreams big; coming into
his own as a singer. Building on his songwriting, popularized by The Beets, Juan presents
introspective tracks, like Water and Sanity, and reflections on humans' relationship with
technology in songs like Breathing-which features Carmelle Safdie. The record is completed, as always, by the artwork of dear friend and longtime collaborator Matthew
Volz, who has honed the trademark visual aesthetic of Juan's music. This album is a
selection of recordings made between the fall of 2010 and the summer of 2012 at Marlborough Farms. N.A.P. delivers a fresh sound and lyrical candor from one of Queens'
    most idiosyncratic adoptive sons.

A$AP Mob member Ferg has always been the most dazzlingly unpredictable of his crew, a rapper as likely to delve into Jamaican dancehall and '90s house music as his Harlem roots. An even more eclectic, expansive album than 2013's Trap Lord, Always Strive and Prosper finds Ferg amongst collaborators as interesting-and unlikely-as bassheads Skrillex ("Hungry Ham") and Cashmere Cat ("Yammy Gang"), flipping from street tough ("New Level") to teddy bear (the Ty Dolla $ign and Chris Brown-featuring "I Love You") with ambition and ease.

A founding member of Harlem's A$AP Mob (Always Strive and Prosper), A$AP Ferg was initially the group's main clothing designer but after teaming with Mob member A$AP Rocky he became one of the crew's breakout rappers. While Ferg and Rocky were originally planned to be the crew's Mobb Deep-like duo, they found more success as solo artists, beginning with Rocky and his series of 2012 mixtapes.

Ferg's big break came that same year when his track Work landed as the key cut on the A$AP Mob's mixtape Lords Never Worry. The announcement that A$AP Ferg signed with RCA came in early 2013 and was followed by an all-star remix of Work with Trinidad James, French Montana, and Schoolboy Q added to the cut. That same year Ferg's Persian Wine single landed along with his solo album Trap Lord.

    Melk En Honing

Author & Punisher s newest album entitled MELK EN HONING , produced by Phil Anselmo (Pantera, Down, Superjoint Ritual, and more) due out Summer 2015, is melange of his various drone machinery together, multiple physical rhythm machines, some synth and the new electromechanical masks that began to appear in A&P performances across the U.S. and Europe in 2014. After 2 years of heavy touring and festival appearances, the goal with this album became to try and capture the live dissonant power of the A&P experience. The combination of Anselmo s persistence, expertise and some of Shone s new experimentation with various vocal devices, this is a vocal-prominent, bass heavy album that combines A&P's signature elusive drone sequences and hard hitting rhythms with unexpected terrains of melody and musicality that sustain Shone's reputation as an unorthodox innovator in a class all of his own.

Abandoning the typical guitar and drums set up, Author & Punisher makes aggressive rhythmic and oscillatory soundscapes from his own custom fabricated and precision machinery. Designed by Shone himself, the instruments of Author & Punisher are custom devices that begin mostly as big chunks of aluminum and steel that are worked into all manners of wheels, throttles, pedals, and masks to manipulate sound live. Shone s electromechanical arsenal and physical approach to live production become to heavy music what Survival Research Laboratories was to live, unscripted performance art. Pitchfork styled him immediate but mysterious, Stereogum described his chilling, unrecognizable form, and NPR hails him as a thrill [who] fires on all cylinders.

St. Louis beat maker Andrew Jernigan a.k.a Phaseone gained
quite a following after his early remixes and mixtapes began
creating buzz around the internet in 2009. These releases
included noteworthy cuts of Animal Collective, Panda Bear,
and Burial. That same year Phaseone released his debut LP
"Thanks But No Thanks" as a free download showing that he's
not too shabby at creating his own tracks as well. Jernigan
recently relocated to Brooklyn, NY to work on his forthcoming
LP "If I Tell U" due out spring 2013 on Adult Swim's Williams
Street label (home to Killer Mike's critically acclaimed R.A.P.
Music LP and Metalocalypse's Dethklok). With this new
release Phaseone further expands the boundaries between
producer and artist creating a swirling universe and unique
aesthetic that is distinctly his own.

They've been sampled by Kanye West, The Game and A$AP Rocky, and released their debut BIG GRAMS LP with good friend and musical partner in crime, Big Boi of Outkast. The New York bred duo made writing stops at home and in Atlanta before picking back up in Los Angeles to record Three. Carter and Barthel shared duties on production and vocals, melding elements of rock, pop, hip-hop and electronic. The resulting sound leans darker and more psychedelic yet with some of the brightest and most introspective pop melodies they've delivered to date, truly making them genre-defying artists for the 21st century.

KoRn are one of the best-selling Nu Metal bands on the planet. Of their 8 studio albums the first seven have been certified platinum. The demise of the band L.A.P.D. was the starting point for KoRn. The remaining members (Reginald 'Fieldy' Arvizu, James 'Munky' Shaffer, David Silveria and Brian 'Head' Welch) were looking for a new singer, found Jonathan Davis, and KoRn was born. The result was 1994's KoRn. The huge amount of time they spent touring paid up, assuring them of a fan base buying their future albums.

Their second album was 'Life Is Peachy' (1996), which reached No.3 on the Billboard charts and achieved platinum-selling status. 'Life is Peachy' continues right from where the debut had left off, but this time around, KoRn would bring some new, refreshing, and quite unexpected surprises to the table, such as in the playful 'A.D.I.D.A.S.' ('All Day I Dream About Sex').

With lyrics that reached out to many post-grunge teens after the suicide of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, backed up by a wall of heavy toned-down guitars and loud in your face hip-hop drumming, KoRn prepared themselves for a worldwide breakthrough that would happen soon after.

    No Depression

The album that inspired a website, a magazine and a musical movement, Uncle Tupelo's landmark 1990 debut No Depression is intrinsically a punk-rock record with country themes. On the one hand the album is named after a song by A.P. Carter and features banjos, mandolins and fiddles and on the other the songs are played at a breakneck pace and feature thrashing guitars and a punk spirit.

Paying their respects to obvious influences like Graham Parsons, the Replacements and the Minutemen, the 12-song set accurately depicts the trials and tribulations of the rural, blue collar existence from the workingman anthems like Factory Belt and Graveyard Shift to the trappings of the nightlife on Whiskey Bottle and Before I Break.

Equally as acclaimed as it is revered, No Depression brilliantly blends the heartbreak and longing of country music with the power and fury of punk-rock, done so with a precision that remains unmatched.

    Wonder Where We Land

Since the release of his debut album in 2011, SBTRKT has cemented his
role as one of the most acclaimed electronic artists and performers around.
What began as praise in his hometown of London has now reached to
    every corner of the globe.

Wonder Where We Land follows his now critically acclaimed eponymous
debut album and a recent series of six instrumentals called Transitions -
which existed to join the creative dots between the first and second albums.

Album sessions began on Osea Island, a tidal island in an estuary off
Essex where the winding coastal road is submerged for 8 in every 12
hours. It was here that SBTRKT began the early stages of the recording
process, inviting a host of collaborators to join him record throughout the
night free from any distraction - the tapes continuously rolled, animation
was projected on the walls and every creative impulse was documented.
Inspired by this new 'open' method of recording, and ready to focus his
new found ideas into more intense sessions, SBTRKT visited America armed
with a wish list of collaborators to track down. It was here he worked with
newcomer Raury, Ezra Koenig from Vampire Weekend, A$AP Ferg and
    Emily Kokal from Warpaint.

    Cancer For Cure

Independent rap icon El-P is set to release his long awaited new solo album Cancer For Cure, at his new home Fat Possum. The new album marks his first full length rap album since 2007's critically acclaimed I'll Sleep When You're Dead, though El-P's rap trajectory has been on a steady ascent following a prolific year that saw high profile appearances on Das Racist's mixtape and debut album, a hugely buzzed Adult Swim single "Drones Over Bklyn," a verse (which made Stereogum's top 10 guest verses of the year) on one of the year's biggest online hits, Mr. Muthafuckin' Exquire's "Huzzah," among several other honors.

The record is arriving hot on the heels of the new Killer Mike album R.A.P. Music, which El-P produced in full and is already making huge noise with its first single "Big Beast (featuring Bun B, T.I. and Trouble)," which was awarded Pitchfork's rare 'Best New Track' designation.Cancer For Cure takes another huge leap forward from the production work of his 2010 instrumental album Weareallgoingtoburninhellmeggamixxx with a bombastic collision of synths, bottomless bass tones, live instrumentation, ear-worming melody, and tightly coiled drum patterns, setting the standard for hip hop production higher than ever.

The obvious diversion from the previous album is the presence of El-P's ever-developing vocal style, continuing to raise the bar on his already highly verbose flow that swiftly and muscularly navigates a rapidfire explosion of syllabic conundrums and quick-witted elocutions full of heart, purpose, style and grit. Rounded out by feature appearances by a host of high profile guests including Killer Mike, Danny Brown, Mr. Muthafuckin' Exquire, Paul Banks (Interpol), and more, this will easily be one of the year's most talked about albums.

    Who Me?

"In contrast to his shambolic band's [the Beets] crude punkish impressions, the man's solo material hews more acoustic and bare, showcasing his warm voice and knack for, yes, poetry, that feels beamed in from a halcyon era." - Spin

Over ten years ago, a teenage Juan Wauters came to New York from Uruguay. Quickly after his arrival to the Big Apple, he turned to music to take control of the loneliness that came with his new surroundings. However, his isolation didn't last long though and, in the Queen's neighborhood Jackson Heights, he formed The Beets with new friends, garnering a reputation that allowed him to record three albums and tour the United States extensively. As the band began to slow down in 2012, Juan had more to say and he kept
going on his own with his debut solo album, N.A.P. North American Poetry, released on Captured Tracks in 2014.

Who Me? is the next chapter in the ongoing story of Juan Wauters. Whereas his debut solo record was recorded casually over the course of one year, his new album was crafted in under two weeks at Future Apple Tree in Rock Island, Illinois. Inspired by both the arrangements of Uruguayan songwriter Jaime Roos and the production of American master Dr. Dre, this collection of songs presents his continued approach to existential questioning through pop music. Tracks like "She Might Get Shot" and "I Was Well," which may seem like wisdom addressed to the listener, are in fact part of Juan's reciprocal process of self-actualization through songwriting and performing. Bringing new sounds to his repertoire, "This Is I" and "Through That Red" add a spiritual tone with ethereal string arrangements. Juan's voice - which has risen to the forefront of his music since his first recordings with The Beets - intensifies with added nuance. This year Juan Wauters will continue to tour the world in support of his second solo record.

Brand New Album Featuring The Hit Singles Human And Marilyn Monroe

Number 1 In Us Electronic iTunes Chart And Top 5 In Electronic Charts Around The Globe

ISON is the debut album of Iranian-born Dutch artist Sevdaliza. After releasing her latest Edison nominated visual masterpiece HUMAN, and her acclaimed short film The Formula, next to worldly known 3D experiences for That Other Girl and Marilyn Monroe, Sevdaliza is defining art with her mystical audio-visual experiences.

So far Sevdaliza already amassed millions of plays on Youtube and Spotify. She recently collaborated with A$AP Ferg and was also featured on Parisian producer STWO's latest single Haunted.

As much as ISON is about the human experience, it is mostly about Sevdaliza returning to her spirit guided by past lives. By following her intuition, her unconscious guided her on a path which one present form might never reproduce. All the knowledge that is not of the senses, not of the intellect, not of the heart but is the property that belongs to the deepest aspect of your being. ISON is an experience of that being.

Sevdaliza's melancholic visceral voice floats over beds of thumping trip hop dubs, married with classical harmonies and cutting strings setting an enigma. Rhythmic tensions build slowly into chaotic climaxes. ISON has been described as genre-bending, drawing on various genres.

Her writing, influenced by intuition and experiences in past lives, has a philosophical questioning character; subjects like spirit diversification and perception of emotion are strongly present. Divine energies blend harmonically within. Sevdaliza plays with the simulation of lives that can hardly be distinguished from truth. Creating a reality where everything is possible. To Sevdaliza, expression comes forward in designing every detail in sound and imagery.

The moving artwork of ISON was sculptured by the incredible Sarah Sitkin.

Stereophile Recommended Component (Fall 2016 Edition)

The V90-LPS is a modestly priced, very high performance MM/MC phono stage with superb technical performance.
In our opinion, there are five critical areas where a phono stage must achieve excellence:

    • RIAA correction
    • Correction above 20 kHz
    • Low distortion
    • Low noise
    • Good overload margin

The V90-LPS has extremely accurate RIAA correction and that extends up to 80 kHz and beyond. That may sound extreme, but there is a good deal of information above 20 kHz that needs correction. If it isn't corrected, it will show itself as ringing and overshoot.

The V90-LPS's distortion is very low. Noise ratio is extremely low and all but inaudible.

Overload margin is easily adequate for any current cartridge.

All in all, the V90-LPS accomplishes everything necessary for a phono stage.

There are many phono stages that are far more expensive and make extraordinary claims for their performance. In contrast, the modest V90-LPS just gets on with the job of doing everything you could reasonably expect from a phono stage.

If you want top notch performance, and don't care about the alleged conferred status of buying a high-priced product that offers no better performance than the V90-LPS, then we are of a like mind.

The LX-LPS is a very high performance MM/MC phono stage with TWO turntable inputs. Each input has an extra pair of input sockets so you can achieve exact impedance matching. The circuitry is derived from the MX-VYNL so it is unsurprising that the technical performance is outstanding.

The MX-VYNL is a fully balanced, very high performance phono stage, able to operate with virtually any moving coil or moving magnet cartridge. With both traditional RCA inputs and our unique XLR fully balanced connection the MX-VYNL can be connected to 2 turntables simultaneously.

The MX-VNYL offers a wide range of input impedance settings for moving coil cartridges as well as several capacitance settings for moving magnet units. Unlike many of our competitors units the MX-VYNL allows easy adjustment of these settings while playing. This allows easy experimentation and tuning to find the optimum setting for all your equipment.

The MX-VYNL also includes our renowned RIAA correction that offers extremely accurate results to beyond 80kHz. That may sound extreme, but there is a good deal of information above 20 kHz that needs correction. If it isn't corrected, it will show itself as ringing and overshoot.

With both extraordinarily low noise and exceptional overload margin the MX-VYNL can comfortably handle even the most demanding of cartridges and satisfy the most discerning of listeners.

    Musical Fidelity V90-DAC DAC

Have a question about this product? Please email our audio advisor or call 1-877-929-8729 with any questions or concerns regarding your equipment purchase.

Our aim with the V90-DAC was, on balance, to make the best DAC in the world without breaking the bank.

Examine any high-end DAC, and the first thing you see is massive casework. As far as we are aware, this contributes nothing to its technical or sonic performance. Take the top off, and in most cases you will find a complex layout that suggests performance. However, further analysis will show that the real work of signal handling and data conversion is done by a dozen or so components. The rest is decoration, designed to suggest competence. These observations formed the basis for the V90-DAC concept.

We wanted to build the best DAC in the world, but to sell it at a fair price. Using state-of-the-art design techniques and components, we set out to design a DAC to produce top-notch technical performance - housed in a modest, reasonably priced package.

The V90-DAC has a balance of measurements: distortion, noise, linearity, bandwidth, and phase, which in their totality are not significantly bettered by any product at any price.
If you hunt around, you may find the occasional DAC that claims to have slightly better performance than the V90-DAC in one area or another, but in totality will not exceed it. There are plenty of competitors shouting about their new, wonderful version of the emperor's new clothes, but they offer little or nothing in real performance to back up their claims. Just lots of talk about subjective this or that, but all of it is just a matter of opinion.

The V90-DAC is a matter of fact. Its technical and sonic performance is superlative. There are better DACs but they may cost twenty or thirty times more.
Buying the V90-DAC is your personal statement of independence from overhyped claims.

Bring Back My Blue-Eyed Boy To Me

Drawing on the rich musical tradition of rural Appalachia, by 1930 the Carter family had become an American institution. Often called the first family of country music, the original Carter family consisted of A.P. Carter, his wife Sara and Saras cousin Maybelle. Maybelles daughter June Carter, would go on to become a star in her own right and famously marry Johnny Cash. Maybelle Carters pioneering guitar style not only revolutionized American music, but she was also one of the first white musicians to use the guitar as a lead instrument. In February 1929 the Carter family returned to Camden, NJ for their third-ever recording session (for Victor) laying down 12 plus tracks of which 5 can be heard here. Their next recording session, also for Victor was in Atlanta Georgia in November of that same year (just a month after the stock market crash), where they recorded their classic Wabash Cannonball, among others.

    Drone Machines (On Sale)

What started out as the design and build of his Master's thesis at the University of California, San Diego, the DRONE MACHINES soon become the subject matter of Tristan Shone's third album.

For those unaware, AUTHOR & PUNISHER is an industrial doom metal, one man band utilizing primarily custom designed and fabricated machines and speakers. The devices draw heavily on aspects of industrial automation and robotics, focusing on the eroticism of interaction with machine. The machines are designed to require significant force from the performer, aligning he or she with the plodding doom influenced sounds that are created.

"DRONE MACHINES" is the heaviest of the A&P albums and also the longest at around 70 minutes.

June full circle back to her musical beginnings. Recorded from October 2002
